Elder Scrolls confessions

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 8:04 am

I've seen a number or these threads before, so I decided why not. The point of the thread is to post some things you have, or haven't done in TES, and anything you would count as a confession. Examples are collecting a certain item, always doing a certain quest, or things of the like.

My confessions:

-I've never played a Vampire or Lycanthrope in Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim.
-I've logged over 2,000+ hours on Morrowind and Oblivion combined, only a measly 60 on Skyrim.
-I always put enemies I've slain in dignified positions, never just leave them as they ragdoll.
-The first few years I played Morrowind (I was 7 at the time ) all I did was walk around cities, doing nothing but talking to citizens.
-Bonelords were the scariest thing my seven year old eyes ever lay eyes on, to this day they still creep me out.
-I have completed every Main Quest in the five main TES games besides Skyrim.
-I have a burning desire to play Redguard.

I larp'd a naked khajiit man in Oblivion. I used one of those muscle enhancer mods on him.

I think I logged more hours into Morrowind than school.

Okay.

-I've only ever finished the main quest once in Morrowind and once in Oblivion, never quite finished it in Skyrim.
-I've never leveled alchemy or enchanting or armorer to a decent level in any game. I have leveled smithing quite high in Skyrim though.
-I almost never bother with putting enemies in dignified positions like you do, but during a certain Companions quest where a certain shield-brother recklessly runs in and dies I didn't strip any of his gear, and I put his sword and shield across his chest.
-I've never played a Khajit, Argonian, or Bosmer.
-Before Skyrim I had never played an Altmer, and I hadn't played a Nord for very long.
-My only successful 'Mage' character in Morrowind actually cast hardly any spells, I hate magic in Morrowind. Instead he had an Ebony staff enchanted to damage health something like 70 on hit, and whacked most things to death, in addition to using Telvanni items to summon bodyguards.

I have not done most of the faction quests in Skyrim. I have logged 300 hours. I think I had done the companions, college of winterhold and Thieves guild with about only maybe 1/3 of the main quest done or so. Idk I'm guessing.

I meticulously decorated my houses in Oblivion with various items. I have hardly done any of that in Skyrim so far.

I still have not beat Morrowinds Main quest despite over 150 hours in the game. It's on my to do list

- i've only made 1 spell ever
- i never enchanted untill skyrim
- Oblivion was my first TES
- while playing Oblivion for the first time i didn't know you could wait until 150 hours in
- i almost stopped playing Oblivion for good after the first hour cause i didn't know what i was supposed to be doing ( man am i glad i just kept playing )
- my favorite race is Argonian
- i really don't like Khajits but i would love to play a game set in Elsweyr
- i ran around a cave once jumping and casting a light spell for 5 hours so i could raise up my illusion, athletics, and acrobatics

Here goes. Brace yourselves:
  • I have never spent any time in a jail. Fined, yes. Jailed, no.
  • I have never played a Vamp or Were-character until a certain questline in Skyrim made me a werewolf. Even then, I rarely use it.
  • My first Elder Scrolls game was Oblivion.
  • Here's an odd one that I just realized: I haven't actually purchased an Elder Scrolls game yet. I got Arena and Daggerfall via the free releases; the other three were gifts from my girlfriend. I almost bought Morrowind used, but the base game disk was missing so I had to return it. My girlfriend later gave me her copy (She had two. And she's awesome).
  • I have yet to finish Morrowind's main quest (I've been working on it lately, though.)
  • I still pointlessly hop around in Skyrim sometimes even though there is no longer an Acrobatics skill.
  • I never paid Khajiit much attention until I rolled a Khajiit thief in Oblivion. I now have a soft spot for them.
  • Aforementioned Khajiit lives in the Imperial Waterfront shack. He has since filled it with dozens of bottles of stolen alcohol.
  • My very first TES character was a Dunmer. Ever since, my first character for every new game has been a Dunmer.
  • One day, I would like to dress as a Dunmer at a Renaissance festival just to see if anybody gets it. (I'm weird, I know)
  • I miss Michael Mack's voice for the Redguards.

Despite having been playing TES games since the release of Morrowind, I only recently found out how Alchemy works. In the past, I only ever leveled it by senselessly making random potions.

I've never had a max level character in any of the games.

I've never been able to successfully roleplay as an Argonian, and I do not understand how anyone can and still take the game seriously.

I have never beaten Arena or Battlespire.

I'm seriously considering dishing out the cash necessary to buy an N-Gage just so I can buy Shadowkey and play it.

I'm seriously considering a tattoo of the http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/tdgtd_dwemer_lorkhan.jpg.

I larp'd a naked khajiit man in Oblivion. I used one of those muscle enhancer mods on him.
Wait, what?

I have never crafted a spell or brewed a potion in a TES game.

I have to play as the native race in a province. Even if I hate their starting stats, I feel compelled to.

I think Alits, Kagouti, and cliffracers are just silly from an evolutionary standpoint.

Even though it was dumb and pointless, I kinda miss medium armor.

When I was a kid I kinda fell in love with Indrele Rathryon because she was the first npc I got to full disposition and she always got all a-flutter in my presence. Even though I now know every female Dunmer would have responded the same, she still holds a special place in my heart.

- I died about a dozen times in Privateer's Hold.
- When not doing a serious playthrough, I sometimes like to disable AI detection or abuse Chameleon so I can roam around the gameworld listening to the music without getting attacked by wild animals constantly.
- In Oblivion, I found the gates so tedious that I ended up closing most of them using console.
- I've barely touched the Mages Guild in any Elder Scrolls game.
- I've never played as a beast race.
- Zombies (Oblivion), bonewalkers (Morrowind) and ghosts/wraiths (Daggerfall) still scare me a little.

- I never did the Arena mq properly, I just got the Skeleton Key and passwall and I walked through every wall and closed door without solving the puzzles. Oh, and I've never killed a lich I always ran away.
- I always use the '[' and ']' cheat to navigate dungeons in Daggerfall. Those ******* labirynths are huge!
- I did the Morrowind mq and all the faction quests five times so far. Morrowind is my all time favourite game, I once collected all the artifacts and all sets of armors and weapons and arranged them in a room with candles and gems around them, It was nice! :D
-When I first played Oblivion I did every quest and I was only lvl 14. My favourite TES quest is the Thives Guild's final mission.
-Skyrim's faction quests were really disappointing to me (especially the College). I only visited Morthal, Falkreath, Dawnstar after I finished the MQ.
-I never finished Battlespire because of some bug.

-Hours of play: Arena: 10-12
Daggerfall: 20-24
Battlespire: 6-7
Morrowind: 150-200
Oblivion: 100-120
Skyrim: 62

- And I'm teaching my sister how to play Morrowind!:)

I have not tried making a skooma addict.
It took me two years or one year to get the hang of Daggerfall's combat system.
The bosmer eyes in Morrowind scare me. They're so beady that even an Italian Greyhound's eyes look sane.
I always play as a Khajiit, well most of the time.
I like to have my characters run around naked in Morrowind. It's fun.
All of my characters are self interested jerks. I amped it up with my Daggerfall Khajit being a pervy metrosixual who runs around in loincloths while robbing graveyards and claiming to worship Dibella just to see the hot women.
I now love the acrobatics skill. It's hilarious to jump on top of things like houses. The Climbing skill in Daggerfall is even more awesome just because it means more crazy.
I attempted to make a fort out of clothes in Morrowind. It was useless after five articles of clothing were easy to walk through.
The ghosts in Daggerfall scare me. They are loud.

...wow.

You should really go back to Morrowind and Oblivion and do those questlines / expansions (especially Shivering Isles). I wish I had that much content left to go back to in those games.

Here is my confession:

I never play a TES game for less than 4 hours in one sitting.

I can only play these or any other games when under the influence of a certain green 'herb'

I get a ball of excitement in my tummy when i'm on my way home from work and i know i have nothing to get up for the following day because i know i'll be playing TES from 7pm til 5am with my third eye open.

My GF values my 'gaming' time and is very easy going. As i am with her hobbies.

My Mum loves Skyrim.

My Older brother hates TES and took Skyrim back after 5 hrs of play

I bought the strategy guide (for collecting purposes) but all it has been good for is rolling 'special' cigarettes on.

Wait, what?

Heh. I thought the second part was slightly more eye-widening. Seriously debating using that as my signature.

Confessions. I always try to make a law-abiding do gooder but gets thrown out the window the first few times some NPC insults my character.
Never did any Fighters Guild quests in Daggerfall. I also never summoned a daedric prince.
Never completed the Temple, Fighters Guild or House Redoran quests in Morrowind.
After the first ten gates in Oblivion I just usually fly to the top to grab the stone. Either that or I execute the Reman sweep to the top. Huzzah!
I catch myself avoiding the road too much and climbing straight over mountains to quest objectives.

Quests: I've never done House Telvanni or House Hlaalu, Morag Tong or Imperial Legion in Morrowind I've never done any Daedric quests in Oblivion I've started but never finished Arena quests in Oblivion I've never done the Dark Brotherhood in any game I've never done the Mages Guild in any game I've never done the Thieves Guild in any game I've never started Tribunal or Shivering Isles I've started but never finished Knights of the Nine Other stuff: I never did any Alchemy in Morrowind I've never done any spellmaking in Morrowind or Oblivion I've never done any Enchanting in any game ( I'm planning to do the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests in Skyrim, on my next character)

You should do yourself a solid and really try out the Thieves Guild quests in all the games. Usually that faction has some of the best quests in each game. Daggerfall TG will never send you to a dungeon, Morrowind TG is one of the more morally ethical factions, and Oblivion has the whole Robin Hood vibe and a lot of unique gameplay elements.

I never used levitation although I don't have anything against it and I find it extremely funny in videos posted by others.

I'm always inclined to help and protect the beast races even when not roleplaying one.

I always cheated alchemy in Morrowind (as in camp a herb vendor's shop, buy all the pieces of x, wait 24 hours, etc..etc)

Once I was surrounded by cliffracers somewhere outside fort moonmoth and I had no healing potions or spells... or enough skills to kill them all. I felt more helpless than ever

I use the terrain (rocks) to kill mammoths and giants in Skyrim at very low levels

Great thread! Here's a few of mine.

I have a habit of playing TES games only if it's overcast or rainy outside. Or at night. If it's sunny out, I feel like I can't get into the game as deeply or something.

I have never completed Dark Brotherhood or Thief's Guild in Oblivion, even after 3 years, 4 months of gameplay. :ooo:

Other than the main Mage's College questline, I have yet to complete any of Skyrim's main quests. :meh:

No dragons fly in Skyrim in any of my games yet. :nope:

It took me almost 3 years to finally finish Oblivion's MQ.

I hardly ever use any of those standing stones we find in Cyrodiil's wilderness areas.

I feel bad whenever my characters need to kill a wolf or some other Earth-like creature.

I've never had an Oblivion game level over about 15.

I sometimes feel myself getting attracted to certain NPC's in Oblivion and Skyrim. Keld of the Isles is an example from Cheydinhal's Fighter's Guild.

I tend to hide my TES obsession from some of my friends and family, to better avoid questions about "my responsibilities in life".

I bought the strategy guide (for collecting purposes) but all it has been good for is rolling 'special' cigarettes on.

Hee hee, very creative way. I also...uh...partake of such activities myself, although in my case a different device is used to handle the goods.

- I played the MW main quest, the Tribunal MQ and the Oblivion MQ only once, I hated them all.
- I replayed the Bloodmoon MQ six times without changing my decisions in any way, I'm always a werewolf.
- I felt really dirty when I played the Imperial civil war quests, reloaded a safe from two weeks ago and went Stormcloak.
- I kill every Imperial I see in Skyrim with my main char. I even disable the essantial thing via console.
- I deleted my savegame with my Imperial char, but I kept my all Thalmor Altmer.
- I always hated Martin Septim and was happy when he "died" but also angry because he stole my spotlight.
- I liked Almalexia and Sotha Sil, but hated Vivec and always killed him with any MW char I had.
- I like the Companion quest line, but I never liked the Thieves Guild in OB.
- I think Herma Mora is Cthulhu, I really do.
- I always hated the Dunmer but I always play one in every TES game I lay my hands on.
- I only speak to Khajiit if it's necessary, I think they make TES too unrealistic. Yep, in a world where magic and gods exist I don't like cat people for beeing unrealistic.
- I always loved the Argonians but hardly play one myself.
- I would probably vote for Ulfric Stormcloak if he was a real politician.
- I hate General Tullius more than all the vilains in the TES franchise.
- Dagoth Ur is one of the only normal people for me in MW.
- I hate the Telvanni.
- I love Hlaalu for beeing so corrupt, spineless, backstabbing and just straight forward nasty.
- I was glad that Vvardenfell was destroyed and MW attacked by Argonians when I heard abou it in Skyrim.
- I don't care for Breton lore in any way. It's neither bad nor uninteresting, but it's just "meh" for me.
- Remember Eltonbrand? Never got it.
- One of my dogs is called Talos. Not only because of TES, but it helped woth the decision.

I've actually cut my game off in mid-play if the sun breaks outside for more than 5 minutes. Even though the area in which I game is nice and dark...if the sun starts creeping thru those curtains, I stop the game. And get really, really bummed. :(

- I've never done the Imperial Legion
- I've never played a Vampire in Morrowind (the Vampiric Ring is enough for me)
- I only ever buy (bribe) disposition in Morrowind, never admire
- I used to look for Nirnroot in forests
- I've never played Skyrim

Yeah, I've also never activated one of those stones. I clicked on one once and I think it offered bound weapons and armor, which didn't interest me. Now that I think of it I've never used an Ayleid Well either.

I have you beat on the character levels, but just slightly. In Oblivion I think the highest I've ever gotten a character is 18 or 19, I forget which. Which is odd, since I easily get characters into the 40's and 50's in Morrowind and Skyrim.
