I am really not a lore expert, but I am hoping that a lore expert, or one that knows the drinks of Tamriel relatively well will be able to help me.

I am writing a fan fic and I need to know what would be the strongest of drinks, like the equivalent of Sambuka or Absinthe, or maybe a bit weaker then that, like straight Vodka.

Also if anyone could, would you be able to tell me which drinks are more normal, like everyday drinks that you would just sit down and drink casually if you wanted to have a good time.

Well there is a lot like: Skooma, Ancient Dagoth Brandy, Cyrodiilic Brandy, Flin, Greef, Mazte, Shein, Sujamma, Telvanni Bug Musk, Vintage Brandy, Ale, Brandy, and probably a lot more.

Well, aside from Skooma, since thats not exactly legal.

So something like the ones you listed Aldanril, those are the really strong drinks?

Most of them is rather strong especially: Ancient Dagoth Brandy and Cyrodiilic Brandy.

I was looking for a list of drinks on TES wiki or somewhere because I could not remember the names of any of the drinks except for Cyrodilic brandy. I'm no lore expert at all, I just like the creative writing I only come on this section of the forum for questions answered.

So you've told me the drinks that are strong but what are the more normal ones? or is that just wine and ale?

theres some kind of daedric whiskey u get from frostcrag spire also flin is cyrodillic whiskey so im guessin thats strong

I would guess that Flin, Beer, Ale, Greef is not that strong think like Smirnoff Ice or something like that. Except for the Ale and Beer part that's probably as softish as Beer IRL.

Probably. I mean why not?

Flnin being a whiseky will be on par with vodkas or the like for alcohol content (it's a matter of how far you push your distilation and/or dilute it with water).

For truly foul hangovers, I'd put my money on fortified mead - not present in-game. Basically you take mead and put it outside when it's freezing, removing the ice as it forms - as the frozen ice has a lower aclohol content thant the remaining liquid, you get a stronger drink. And contrary to distillation, you can't discard the heads (first produces to come out) and tails (last, less volatile ones) to remove some rather nasty chemicals.

The result isn't as strong as a wiskey or cognac, but the aforementioned chemicals are slightly toxic and said to make for great hangovers... and worse health problems in case of abuse.

Although, it makes me wonder if it's an ingredient in Sujamma, since the afore-mentioned drink would logically increase virility.
