Elder Scrolls Online Teamspeak

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 9:29 am

Hello ESO players.

The Elder Scrolls Online is massively based on teamwork, and without proper communication it is hard to plan attacks and/or defences.
I have purchased a Teamspeak in which I wish to create a communal ESO atmosphere. There are different rooms for different purposes, for example different Alliances, Questing rooms, Roleplay and more.
Everyone is welcome, there are both public sections for you to meet new people, and private sections if you would rather play with your friends. Currently, Serjic and myself administrate the server.

The server rules are as follows.

I – No pointless trolling. If you are having a joke with your friends, it is fine. However if you are mindlessly disrupting and annoying users on Teamspeak you will be punished without question.
II – No mass insulting and trash-talking. Banter between alliances is fine, however if you are insulting any teamspeak user you will be removed from the Teamspeak so that you may calm down.

Failing to abide by these rules will result in the punishment seen fit.

If you would like your alliance to have a private room and rank in the Teamspeak, please contact either me or Serjic in Teamspeak.

You need the Teamspeak client installed and add the IP address there.

This is a great idea. I was actually thinking of doing this. I would be happy to participate in your teamspeak server. I am starting a guild as well and would love a private room. I will jump in your server soon and see what's up. :-)

OP,

You do realise there are 2 TESO servers/regions, yes?? One for NA and one EU.

So, which TESO server/region is your teamspeak site for?

The teamspeak client is a free download and install.

Just google and DL the client then install

It wouldn't matter really where a person was from. Both regions could use the server. I assume most people will be using the server to speak with people they are grouped with, so there's no problem.

Sorry, but it does matter ...

TS has a cap on the number of users on at one time on one TS server and caps for each channel.

The caps can be raised depending on the type of server the OP has purchased.

Combining all the NA and EU players on one TS server will most likely crash the TS server.

Also how do you plan to seperate players speaking different languages?

Not everyone in the world speaks english ...

Well if there was like 100s of people swarming into the server this would be a problem, but I don't imagine it will be like that. I would think people who don't speak English won't be reading this post since they can't speak the language, therefore they won't be joining the server. I would suggest you limit it to either Us or Eu though to limit confusion.

The Teamspeaks language is English. Non-English speakers are welcome, however they shouldn't expect to find many people speaking the same language.

It doesn't matter what country the user is from, The Teamspeak is good quality and -when I upgrade it- it will be able to support over 200 users.

I will make sure there are enough rooms so that whatever the need of the user, either to play with a small group of friends, play with a guild or play with a 50 man alliance group, they may do so without any bother. Some rooms will also be capped to two, three, five users so that a group of friends may play together. Private rooms may be requested.

I would request a room capable of holding atleast 10 players for my guild. "Trash Mobs Inc." :-)

I play Guild Was 2, and to do 1 event my guild can have 170 players on TS in one channel.

Now, this guiild has it's own TS server, so this is not a problem for us.

However, multiply this over an entire server, with many guilds doing different events that can require 20-100 playes all on TS at the same time. Now do you understand??

So yes, the OP's TS server will be swarmed, not with hunderds of players, but thousands ...

Look, the OP is doing a good thng, but he really needs to clarify what this TS is going to do.

Pretty simple solution, password the server and only give it out on a first come first serve basis?

Anyone planning an event of that size would have their own server. I Assume this server is tailored for small groups who don't have their own. 90% of the people in the game will have their own VoIP servers. idk why your poking holes in this guys idea.

Does anyone know if http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-hammerhead-pro work for a microphone?

I cannot stand over-the-head headsets.

A server open to all , may get a little too cumbersome to manage, even if it has enough available slots and bandwidth?

I see a lot of basic questions here, as an FYI to some, internet voice applications like Team Speak, Ventrillo, or Mumble, offer their client software free, usually a host will rent server slots (number of user's the server can host) and give the people he wants the relevant login information to put in their software. If it's not commercial some of those software companies above let you install their server software on your server, which is nice if you have a spare computer and enough bandwidth. I don't recommend making a voice server on the same machine you game with but it can be done.

Lastly renting server slots is pretty cheap I currently use Ventrillo and rent 20 slots for 5.99 per month, you can get 10 slots for 2.99 a month, and they can be scale'd easily if you need more or less slots, from the host site. I've been pretty happy with Crucial gaming servers and used them on an off for almost 8 years. They have no live support only email support, for new people setting up hosting that might be a problem. I hoped this helps a few of you.
