Elder scrolls 5: skyrim demo

Post » Thu Sep 23, 2010 4:53 pm

I think instead of bethesda making an demo for fans to play before the New elder Scrolls is released, they should bring out the full version of the character creator.
That instead of the first hour or 2 making a character, you can just load one up from your hard drive and start playing.

I don't think there will be a demo :).

But nonetheless, a character creator would be nice before the release.

Neat Idea... Further to that potentially something similar to the mini games offered for Fable II before it was released - no money could be transfered though

Bethesda has never released a demo for any of its games (with the exception of Daggerfall. :D). There won't be one for Skyrim either, I reckon. The same follows for the character creator.

I agree. A demo wouldn't do the game justice, but the character creator would.

A character creator would be nice, but somehow I don't see it happening.

I have to disagree. Getting a character creator is useless if you don't know what all the character attributes do in the game, and how useful combinations of skills are, and....

If you're only concerned with what your avatar looks like, then maybe this isn't the right game for you.

Bioware did that with Dragon Age: Origins and I thought it was a great idea Unfortunately, I don't see it happening and definately not a demo.

Since all skills start at the same value in Skyrim I think the character creator will be only for visuals.

I like the idea of an early shot at designing your character. I admit I've spent an enormous amount of time on the pass and it would be nice to have it out of the way by the time I actually get the game, although at least the character design controls will supposedly be more accessible now . . .

The character creator is a part of the game as any, when creating your character before you begin your adventure you think to yourself about who you are, how should you look, dark, happy, tough, skinny, young, old, etc.

Take that away and you'll jump straight to the gameplay, it would be kinda weird...

I don't recall anyone in this thread saying that was all they were 'concerned with'.

Well, I have too say that playing a limited version of a game is often quite boring, but the character creation given out for DA:O was pretty fun too mess around with :D

Unless you have a link to someone from Bethesda directly saying that, it is possible. If you don't want to discuss the possibility of a demo then you don't have to post in these threads. It's quite simple really. :spotted owl:

I doubt we will get a demo, but if we did I would like to see a character creator get released similar to what BioWare did with Dragon Age Origins.

I sure wouldn't mind a character creator. When the game finally starts after waiting for months, I don't have time to spend hours tweaking the controls. During initial character creation in the actual game or when "exiting sewers" (or however that will be implemented) you get the option to load in a previously created character and tweak from there if needed. I could have 20 different characters ready to go, just as I want them, by the time the game is installed.

It's way too early to be talking about a demo. Simplicity I think is the thing that Beth should aim for with a Demo.

This idea is basically the creature creator that spore sent out before the game was released. But, it is an awesome idea, I would love to really perfect my character before the game is out, then upload it somehow, so that I'm already ready to go.

Why does anyone really need a character creator before the game is release. Makes no sense to me, making a character is part of the game...
