Sup guys! I haven't been on in a while and I figure I get right on down and dirty with some topics that I love to share. Mainly; involving everyone favorite nemesis that we've never get to seen! The Akaviri folks! And yes I did chose Akavir because it has a VI in it, but also because after going through several in lore books and descriptions, even replaying a few games a few times, I feel as though I got a better understanding on where this is leading to and maybe speculate on the possibility of ESVI setting either in Akavir, or involving Akavir. There is no doubt the Akaviri people influenced Tamriel in a great and many ways. In fact, they were even capable enough to rule the whole of the continent before their fall.
I'll keep it simple though: we all know the Akaviri, mainly the Tessaci were responsible for killing off most dragons in Tamriel and Akavir. The exception was the Tiger folks, which enslaved the dragons and kept them as their own, either in hopes to understanding their power and become like them, like Tosh Raka. The questions were why? Obviously the Altmoran dragons and Akaviri dragons have similar relations in one way, but they were never a dominating factor in cults for the Akaviri people. But they do have knowledge of them, and even Alduin himself so what was their goal? Humans did indeed used to live before they were killed off by the serpent folks. During the time of Reman Cyrodil's reign did we see skeletal remains of Akaviri men, and even Alduin's wall itself. This was around the 2nd era, though the humans could had been killed off sometime after, maybe during the Potentate's reign.
Face it; the Continent is shrouded in mysteries, many of which I find rather interesting and eager to learn. Skyrim's return of the dragons could also mark the return of Tamriel's old ancient nemesis who are just as tenacious as the Daedra themselves. Marking their 4th war, with tales of the dragons resurface, the new Empire of Akavir under the rule of Tosh Raka, the immortal tiger dragon emperor, after having subjugating the Tessaci people and destroying their civilization, tales of the dragons return reached their ears years later. Of course with Tessaci culture diminished and entirely destroyed, the old ways of hunting dragons becomes a thing of the pass, barely clinging onto the Blades, whom succeed the old Dragonguard and the Emperor sees this as an opportunity. Maybe twenty or fifty years later, Tamriel is in the midst of another war. The Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion are once again at each others throats. Withered and exhausted, neither could succeed in downing the other after the quick and swift resolution after the Skyrim civil war. Of course, the Thalmor's failure to cause another Dragon Break in the Throat of the World could be their greatest asset, as the Akaviri swiftly and subtly invade from the east, making their way into Morrowind to traverse its inhospitable lands knowing none have walked the shores of the decimated lands. Argonia falls, then Elsewyre, half of Cyrodil with the Imperial City in their hands. Holding quarter of Skyrim and Valenwood, they force the weakened and beaten armies back to the lands of Hammerfall, High Rock, and both Valenwood and the Summerset isles.
In a desperate struggle, they forge a bitter, fragile but determined alliance that will surely stop at nothing in conquering Tamriel.
With all that said, the main Theme would be cultural aversion. We have yet to see what Akavir is truly like, and it may be unlikely we will be going to Akavir. So why not bring Akavir to us? From beliefs to culture, worship and practice, architect and environments they come and they change the land of Tamriel in their image. We will see new lore, new actions and reactions, systems of government and control, culture and presence, as the dominating force slowly subjugates the whole.
What is their relations to the Daedra, Aedra and other gods? What is their connections to Tamriel and Mundus? Who are the Akaviri? What are they like? You will be the witness, and rebel of it all shipwrecked on the shores of (Insert unused province here) with no memory and no identity. Find out who you are and what you are destined to be.
