Definitely not. I find that it's hard to get immersed in a game when there are people running past you with text floating over their heads and NPCs stand awkwardly still.

And I would hate to see the traditional well-developed side quests of TES turn into "go kill ten of these" or "go collect 15 of these."

No, I would not, for the following reasons:

1) I already play WoW. I don't have time in my life for two MMOs.

2) It would almost certainly not be better than WoW, and therefore I would have no reason to choose it over WoW.

3) The entire feel of the Elder Scrolls universe would be ruined if I had to play with people called Ipwnnoobz running around behaving like children.

4) It wouldn't be available on consoles. My comp can't even handle LOTR so an Elder Scrolls MMO would be out of the question.

No, I hate MMOs... I mean REALLY HATE. I can't stand watching someone play, or read something about one. They are the worst gaming has to offer.

It would really depend on if it had the elder scrolls feeling about it. Real time combat that would work and not some wnb real time combat such as in the latest Final Fantasy-MMO, that stuff is horrible. I'd really like it much more if it was co-op, so you can explore the world with 2 friends openly and any progres you make would be saved in your game too. Completed games in your friends game would also let you complete it. A bit like in demon's souls maybe, that you are able to summon them from these portals in mages guild halls or such. PvP could also be added, so if you play with your friend a deadra (another player) could enter the area you are in, such as a cave and he would not be able to leave the cave but when you leave it, he gets disconnected, so stealth characters could if careful enough avoid these fights. The idea of invading another world is also taken from demon's souls.
That thing would be great if there was a online feature in TES 5, but if it doesn't then it will be just as great without this.

I would try it if it wasnt a monthly fee. I cant keep up with those well... But if they came out with a TES V and an MMO I would try them both i love them that much to at least try. It would be cool if they can make it for the 360 and such.

No. I don't play MMO's and as much as I love the Elder Scrolls games not even a TES MMO would be enough to convince me to pay a monthly subscription fee and deal with all the obnoxious nuts out there. Besides, the thing that attracted me to the Elder scrolls games in the first place is the freedom to go anywhere I want and do whatever I wand when I want, and I have a feeling that that freedom would have to be restricted somehow in an MMO.

I don't much care for multiplayer games. I would be very disappointed if the elder scrolls ever became an MMO.

I voted no. I don't really care for MMO's and only play Guild Wars. Games like WoW don't interest me at all. Just give me a nice SP game any day of the week and to heck with these MMO things.

No. Mostly because I typically avoid MMORPGs altogether due to their static worlds and unfulfilling grindfests. If I were to sacrifice another three years of my life on an MMO, it'd probably be Guild Wars 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35BPhT-KI1E

I voted yes because I like MMO's and I think Elder Scrolls would make a pretty good MMO. I like the lore so much better than any other mmo I've played.

Obviously I realize that TESV won't be an MMO, and I'll probably like it much better, but still I think an ES MMO would be worth paying for.

I don't necessarily want a TES MMO, but I would love an online or even just lan multiplayer, options where a limited number of people could play in the world with you. Or if they'd make that something that could possibly be modded into the game easily. I don't want a split screen mp but online or lan would be awesome.

There is only one MMO that I will ever play and that is Everquest. I play Elder Scrolls BECAUSE it is not an MMO. I've been there and done that and there is nothing they can do that woud impress me. While your at it, might as well pay to play Call of Duty online! So sick of all you pepole and your MMO talk. For the love of god just drop it!

On the other hand, Zenimax Online is (likely) working on the much rumored ES MMO, and I cant help but think (know) its going to fail. It probably wont have a broken formula, but there are too many loyal players of other MMOs. WoW as a reported 11 million. Now think that 8 million copies of Oblivion were sold across all 3 platforms (its likely wasnt that many but I'm being a little generous)

Assume 4 million for PC and 4 million split between PS3 and 360. Neither PS3 nor 360 have a dedicated MMO base outside of Final Fantasy. That eliminates 4 million fans because if they wanted to play on a PC then they would have bought ES on PC.

2 Million or so ES PC fans played the series from the beginning, so they stick with the PC version. That leaves 2 million left for PC. Assume 1 million of those fans play WoW and likely wont be leaving it to play another (likely ripoff and less stellar ES MMO). Thats 1 million fans...Worldwide.

Assume 100 million for dev costs and beta testing (give or take). If 1 million people at launch bougth the game ($50 plus monthly fees), your looking at recuopping nearly the dev costs. However, that does not include advertising and constanst updates. Assume some of those players dont like the game, which would be around half. 500,000 for a few months and then the fan base drops again. After 1 year, your looking at 200,000 active monthly players (at most).

APB had more players and it failed miserably. Just looking at statistics and industry anolysis (plus the poll), an ES MMO is gonna be an ultimate failure.

Yea it might be cool to have something like Dead Rising 2 where you can ask to join another persons game or get asked and then you can go around playing the same thing as the regular game cept you have another person with you. I think you can get more than one but its not that popular so ive only had the one.

If the engine was good,
no monthly fees (Ala GWars 2)
And your choices matter.
