About the time Skyrim came out the elderscrolls.com homepage was revamped, including the Morrowind page: http://www.elderscrolls.com/morrowind/
I happen to like the high quality image of the dwemer ruins that is used as the current background image.

Does anyone know what the source of this image is? It's certainly not from the game itself...
The problem is, I don't seem to be able to extract the image from the webpage, so I'd like to know its source.

Definitely not a screenshot... those dwemer exterior meshes do not look like that in the game. (not even modded ones)
It's conceptual art of some kind.
Probably drawn during the making of Skyrim, so they could update the entire site with new art.

Weird... I had pulled it from the background before, but now it only let's me pull the red/black rusty image at the bottom of the page.

Right click on the page > Show information about page (or something like that, I have non-English Firefox) > Media > http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/assets/images/backgrounds/morrowind/bg.jpg
