You know he just lost all of his fans who like TES more then him. Seriously they could have had a guest speaker who actually played the Elder Scrolls series comment on it afterwards. True game fans noticiced its crowning moment of awesomeness and that it is a memerable part of video game history. Still though, if you are going to get a celebrety speaker, get one who is into games not one who wants the cash and face-time.

I agree that the announcement came and went with little regard, but I care only because it was the crowning moment of the year, for me, and it was the only reason I was even watching the VGAs.

What's everyone's RRPM (refresh rate per minute)?

Like once every few minutes or so. Refreshing every second wont make it go up faster

I'm curious what they're going to do with the landscape. According to lore (and common knowledge for anyone who's visited Bruma), Skyrim is a cold, mountainous region. Which means it's unlikely we'll see any of the lush green landscapes we're used to in Oblivion. That's assuming the game takes place solely in Skyrim. If parts of the bordering regions are included we could see some interesting variety with desert wastelands, temperate forests and perhaps a bit of the alien landscapes of Morrowind. As for Skyrim itself, I can't imagine we'll see very much plant life beyond trees. Maybe they're going for a more thematic approach as opposed to the mixed bag we got with Oblivion.

LadyNerevar wrote a great article on the landscape of Skyrim that can probably be found over at the Imperial Library (www.imperial-library.info) From that article it seems Skyrim is not just all snow and mountains.

This was the first thing that popped into my mind when the announcing lady said "Classified world reveal." It was between this and a Half Life game.

I'm really glad it was this. This night just made the next three years of my entertainment life.
