Just asked a guy I know who works at Bethesda. No word on any screenshots or etc. yet. Seems we may have to wait a little for that. Sorry guys.

I'm just going to point out that the Nerevarine went missing on an expedition to Skyrim, and Tiber Septim is called the Dragonborn. This tells me things. Dark whispering things.

Oh hell yea! I don't care what anyone says, TES V could have been set anywhere and I'd still be happy, but Skyrim could be so awesome! Not only that but it seems we are going to get a plot involving Akavir!? I can't wait for more details. Between this, SWTOR, and ME3... this year is going to rock so hard.

God I hope Skyrim (can actually call it that now - not just TES:V :D ) is lore heavy. All those 'fans' who only ever played Oblivion can go and do obscene things to themselves. Morrowind and before fans want their franchise back!

I want to be excited about this, really I do... I mean, I guess I've known it would be Skyrim ever since the domain name was registered a couple of years back. I just hoped that it would be somewhere else, that's all. Well, I'll keep an optimistic eye out for more trailers and plot info. Until then, it's just an environment we kind of already saw once before. :\

We've seen some snow and mountainous terrain before, but we've always seen a bit of every Tamrielic province's terrain. Skyrim will be a whole new place. For example, just because Cheydinhal showed a bit of mainland Morrowind and just because we've been to Vvardenfell doesn't mean mainland Morrowind was truly seen. Just because Anvil showed a bit of Hammerfell and just because we've been there in Redguard (Stros M' Kai) and Daggerfall doesn't mean we've really seen Hammerfell.

So, are the VGAs over? Can we get a link to the whole thing so we can watch when Todd and monk came on stage?

The Nerevarine went off to Akavir, not Skyrim...

Edit: should probably clarify that I'm slightly drunk, very euphoric and rather vindicated.

(although Oblivion's lore isn't as good as Morrowind's...)

Jeez guys calm down. I played Morrowind in retrospect - I was born unfortunately late and wasn't savvy enough to buy Morrowind when it was released. Oblivion is a fantastic game, but having played Morrowind it genuinely felt light on lore. I won't totally edit my post because that is cheating, but this clarification is necessary it seems: I bear no grudge to fans of Oblivion - I am one of you. The above is almost entirely post announcement euphoria and alcohol clouding my judgement of what would cause offence. For that I apologise.

But I still maintain that Morrowind was better :P

Yeesh, all those posts in the first couple threads are rather painful, I may have to avoid this part of the forum for a while. I genuinely cannot comprehend how anyone would be this excited.

I'm not even going to endanger myself peeking into the speculation thread.

They're coming on again right now on Spike.

The announcement was only like 20 minutes in.

Regarding comments on the previous thread about it being released on a Friday: games are ALWAYS released on a Friday in the UK. I'm now worried that we will have to wait a full week (or more) after the US release, rather than just a few days as is normal here. I'm not going to get too excited about that release date until I know exactly when it's released here. I hope we're not going to go back to the days of a UK release date weeks after the US one!

I would hope for it to be the same day, but that would be a first - I can't be that optimistic.

Can't us who have been here before Oblivion still do obscene things to ourselves? :celebration:

I mentioned that in the last thread. Also the nerevarine was a dragon born wherether that means it is him or not I highly doubt it. My interpitation is that a dragon born is the pc.

Pc, 360 and PS3 of course! Silly question is silly. I didn't ask about Mac, but I doubt it.

Well G-staff asked what we are doing on the day of release, more specifically are we taking the day off. so I posted this in the other thread. Naturally it got locked. So thats what I'm doing. what are you all doing that day?

will spend 6 months building awesome computer. Will find out it's not enough, will sell first born to get computer up to "awesome"
(firstborn is really 27 yrs old).

will be taking the two days off before the release to get my house in order.

Day of release I will track down the UPS driver.. (he actually lives with me) I took a homeless soldier in and he now works for UPS. Just thought you all needed to know that.

Will lock myself in my family room. My cat will go live with someone else because I will forget to feed him.

Don't start this again. Learn Oblivion's lore before you criticize it and please, shut up, but only because you told me to go screw myself and insinuated that I was not a fan.
