Elderscrolls.com should go back to normal already

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:02 pm

After searching I haven't found a recent topic about this, so I think I'll start one.

It's been months since Bethesda released the Skyrim teaser trailer, and elderscrolls.com is still essentially an empty website other than this trailer. This is a problem, because not only are people unable to access the legacy information about past games, but also because the very useful news posts about updates in the Elderscrolls universe are gone. I've always found it most convenient going to the official site (either elderscrolls.com or for Fallout, fallout.gamesas.com) and reading the news feed there for my updates on an upcoming game. These forums and/or gaming sites never are able to cover everything that gets released.

Even more importantly, no one can find these forums without a link on elderscrolls.com! Unless Bethesda is dead-set on saving bandwidth, they need a link to these forums so they can attract new fans and generate further interest.

I hope you guys (Bethesda) will make the teaser trailer an optional introduction over the normal website again soon (as was done with Fallout).

I think the same, actually. Even if they post a link to a miror of the old site. I'm considering taking 'Cool Website' out of my signature

Agreed. The trailer is awesome, but we've all seen it thousands of times by now (I'm not exaggerating :P) and it's hard to work out where to go to for info on Skyrim and the other Elder Scrolls games but here, and we're not allowed screenshots :(

Maybe they could have a little link in the corner that takes you to the site? Please?

That is an excellent website for all the Elder Scrolls informational needs. I've used it many times, myself. It would be nice, though, if they had a link to it somewhere on their original website.... The only reason
i was able to find it was that it was mentioned in the Infernal City, in the author's notes.... An incredible resource.

Still, Bethesda itself knows about where news updates will be before any fan sites do.

I imagine elderscrolls.com is probably being completely redesigned- but maybe that should have been completed before taking down the old website.

If you mean elderscrolls.com, TIL and other sites were listed in the "links" tab under "fan sites".
