Elf in trailer?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:55 pm

I think the Elf looks great! Looks more alien than previous elves.

When I look at the screenshot, i`m convinced the "victim" is female. The hair style looks like a "leilana" (or whatever her name is) from Dragon Age type, the arms are very slim and the waist tapers in quite slim as well. Overall, feminine build.

At the very end of the clip she starts to open her mouth.

A bit of an unlikely one this but I'll give it a go; could it be one of the Khajit 'sub-species'/variations that looks elf like?

This seems more like a change from Bethesda to make the female Orc good looking, and not have them look almost exactly like the males.

Edit: After looking again and thinking it over, this might be Bethesda trying to give the elven races differences other than skin color and height.

The NPC in question doesn't seem good looking nor ugly to me. Just plain alien looking.

Too tall to be a Bosmer female perhaps, but the eyes seemed rather dark... And the facial shape is rather strange as well; it's almost as if it has a snout. Too human-like to be Khajit (but who knows? Maybe she's one of the Ohmes sub-race,) and her facial structure has the gaunt quality to it which suggesting that she's really an Altmer, and this it supported by her somewhat haughty posture. Quite likely an Altmer.

Also of note how different she looks to the Dunmer barmaid in the rightmost side of the screen at the start of the scene.

Not really sure how that could possibly be an Orc.

There's no colour to the skin...at least not orcish colour, and I doubt the lighting would bleach an orc's skin that white. Besides the build just seems too slender and tall and her demeanour too haughty and smug. Where's the pug snout or the wide and toothy mouth? IMO there's no doubt that that's an Altmer, but to be friendly and as a courtesy to Chimer's seemingly poor eyesight  , I will say that there's a 1% chance that she is an orc.

100% agree

I just noticed there is another NPC in that scene. Next to the Dunmer, behind the bar, there is another NPC sweeping up. I can't really tell anything about her.

Anyone else notice this? Don't know if a thread's already been posted but I didn't see it. Anyway, this seems to be our first look at one of the elf-races, and I think she looks great! A bit more of a return to how they looked in morrowind, it looks like.

Yep. She sure looks snooty enough to be an Altmer.

Try telling that to a Breton.

Oh, oops.

I meant in the usual fantasy sense, where Timmy the elf, considered of average appearance among his people, would inspire screaming, panty-throwing fangirls if he ever went to a city full of humans. It's certainly true that humans can find elves attractive--I just meant that there doesn't seem to be any indication that "being an elf" = "really hot."

Altmer may be more beautiful than average if the whole eugenics thing is true, though.

What the hell is wrong with her?! She looks like a vampire!

Really, I don't think she looks great. That looks horrible, in my opinion.

She certainly looks unique, and that's enough for me.

I don't know. She looks a little TOO alien frankly. Someone said she could be an orc. No Elf should ever make you think they might be an orc. Where is the superhuman beauty? Elves are supposed to be more lovely to behold than humans. Tall and attenuated. . . but not bizzare.

I prefer the scary elves to be honest, they're more unique that way. Though I don't think that they all should be gaunt and freaky, there's multiple facial options so they probably just picked the ones that looked odd.
