Thanks, but i don't think Fortify Smithing is as good as Elixer of blacksmith.

You could (if you are into that) easily get your Fortify Smithing potion above 1 million percent. Plus much quicker than finding one.

The guy has 100 enchanting and 100 alchemy and needs this glitch on top of that? I bet he's complaining on the forums that the game is too easy.

Without resorting to cheating, to create a potion more potent than the Elixir of Blacksmithing, you will need high Alchemy skill with perks that improve potion effectiveness.

I'm not sure what is the most powerful potion you can make without using loop exploits/cheats, but I think it should be higher than 50%

This also depend on perks and alchemy gear, but yes you has to get up to 50 to make decent potions.
highest is 148% with top alchemy gear. On my current character I can make 97% with 70 in achemy perks 4/5+stronger skill potions. around +90% in alchemy gear.

Get enchanted gear for Alchemy. You can enchant a helmet, bracers, a ring and a necklace with it. You can find such gear throughout Skyrim as well as buy them in shops like Belethor's General Store. If they are rated extreme or even peerless will you already get +80% and more in strength of whatever it is you are mixing.

To get your Alchemy up should you gather as many ingredients as you can. Then mix various potions, experiment with the ingredients and find out all the effects of them. By this alone will you end with a lot of potions, most of which will be useless to you, but they fetch a good price in the shops. Use them to buy new ingredients and to buy enchanted gear. Not only will your Alchemy skill go up, but your Speech skill, too. And do not get killed while trying to catch a butterfly.

He probably got 100 in both as a RESULT of the exploit. You gain XP depending on the cash value of potions / enchanted gear you make. With that exploit, the stuff can have essentially unlimited value.

Currently I can make a Fortify Smithing potion of ~104% strength. That's with 5/5 stronger potions perk and some enchanted gear I've looted (never enchanted any Alchemy stuff myself yet), or used any exploits. What sdack said is a good strategy if you don't wanna cheat.

With out glitches and fortify restoration potions, I'm 100 at alchemy and enchanting and smithing and I've enchanted smithing and alchemy gear that gives me something like 26-28% each (4 items per discipline). I can now craft 102% potions. That required 5 perks for alchemy. I'd need 2 more to get just a little more. Fortify restoration potions (I understand) would give you essentially infinite enhancement if you kept drinking them because each potion would enhance the NEXT potion even though they didn't stack.

Still, you can overwhelm the potions you can buy pretty easily without glitches. Heck, you can find 3-4 alchemy enhancement items out there in dungeons without having to create them.

Oh, I just want to add that there wouldn't be so much emphasis on crafting if you could go to blacksmiths and have them improve your stuff (maybe Greymane would do it better than some other blacksmiths so that you'd end up seeking out the best but some would be cheaper?) and find potions of varying strength at potion makers instead of always getting the same stuff. If I could get 100% potions from the best potion makers, maybe I wouldn't craft my own.

I mean why SHOULD I, in my part time, be able to be a better blacksmith, potion maker, and enchanter than the supposed professionals? It's kind of out of whack. I enjoy the crafting but really does it make sense?

The in-game answer is you are a mighty hero. I mean you are a better fighter than anyone else, or a better mage than anyone else.

The balance answer is that if you can use money to replicate character skills, skills become useless, because money is so freely available. If they put in 100% smithing potions, balance would require that they cost about 20,000 gold.
