Elsweyr's Kingdom Of Rimmen

I fixed as many bugs and floating things as I could find, but I still don't have a few things I want. Blackwood plants look a little weird in planters and such, could I use some annequina flowers or something? Also, I was going to replace the castle well, but I'm not sure what well would fit in with the scenery. Anybody know where I can find a well that's japanese/akaviri-looking, or at least better than vanilla wells?

As planters will be 'sheperd' by their gardeners, they are special case, so that's ok I think. Would be worse if we were in Skyrim ... :P

I'll look for a better well. What about a simple stone arrangement as in japanese gardens, with a 'minimized' waterfall mesh as water source?

That would probably do perfectly. I could even add some plants around, and voila, a source of water, AND awesome scenery.

Haven't heard anything about a quest yet... right now they're just worried about getting the city in-game :P

ah .. I see. I thought this is an add-on quest mod for Elsweyr =\

Well, it IS an addon for Elsweyr... it's just another city instead of quests :)

You're right. We will have quests too, but currently we need to improve the city much more.

New version is available, this time at TesNexus: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31002.

Merged a lot new interiors, AI packages and other things from Johnn123 in, so it took another day to finish. My new passages allow you to go from inner city up to the palace and to the guild houses. Still quite empty in there ... and it's the last version with eggs :P. Couldn't find all eggs myself, the well mesh swallowed one of it, and another seemed to sink in the lower class building. First time I did an item mesh with Blender, seem they have a little problem ...

Wonder what's happening at Ilianas mod. The Nexus link shows the 'blocked' page currently, at least when I tested the links in my Nexus file description.

Temporarily hidden for a couple of weeks due to personal reasons and a recent build-up of negative/thoughtless comments and negative endorsemants. Give it time, Iliana will either restore the Nexus page or upload somewhere else.

hey guys just a not: don't forget the template has all these aqueducts and water flows and stuff inside...if only i could copy paste a visual image,but yeah i'm saying this lore based not out of my mind. anyways keep up the good work and also Illiana has full support from many people. her work is amazing and inspiring

one thing...I would maybe create a copy of this city in its own worldspaces with the tamriel ws as a parent..this can be done very quickly as you just have to copy your stuff to the same locations in the new ws...the reason for this is, that if you will add a lot of clutter and npc's later on, you will probaly get problems (bad FPS)...especially in combination with using a full lod...creating a copy in its own ws would allow you to switch back from an open city to a closed version if necessary....
I made this experience with my Fort Akatosh mod...it was completely created in the tamriel WS...but the final result was not playable on lower or middle class systems..and even on a good system it was not really perfect....

just a tip..probably not necessary

edit...forget to say the copy of the city in its own ws has to be of course in the same esp as your current city ...if not needed it can be deleted easily....

We've had that 'own worldspace' discussion already in the former threads. There's not much improvement on FPS with an own WS, only difference is the clutter outside around the walls. This should be reduced anyway to give our guards better field of fire :gun:. So no way for a separate WS. Don't think we get more clutter than IC waterfront ... and I want to have usable walls and platforms. Somewhere down in my endless todo list are stairs inside the gates and the towers to let you go up there.

Sorry, don't understand what you're talking about. What 'template'? Are you talking about descriptions in the 'Infernal city' novel? Still haven't got it, only things I know so far are what others posted here.

The Katana store is still partially embedded into the wall as well as a couple of the red-colored (upper class??) houses still floating. Everything else is coming along great so far...

Hi

For some reason when i open the 3 files ( Oblivion.esm , Rimmen.esp and ElsweryAnequina.esp (ESMified) in the Construction Set. When i go to the cell which has rimmen in it in the Tamriel world space. It freezes and the CS closes. I then have to re-open the cs but the same thing still happens. Do you have any idea how to stop this happening.

we had a simalar problem like that before hand, it was an esmified .esp relying on esmified .esp, causing the CS to crash on save. this is different though, are you clicking yes to all when the tsaesci tail model bad name pops up? the CS will crash if you click no. i also have a job i cant do but need done and im hoping you can do that for me soulsaver. i need you to make a script for an inn so i can make the lower class bar up. i just need the script to allow a PC to use the publicans bed for the night like the ones in game. if you need anything to do that just let me know. thx man

Will I still be able to edit the Rimmen.esp I currently have, or does the new file uploaded on texnexus cancel it out? Because I'm almost done the doors/interiors of the houses.

@norinvaux: rename your .esp to rimmen2.esp and download the new .esp off of the nexus. then use TES4 Gecko to merge the plugins together. this will give you all the new content plus all your work together in a single .esp

Not necessary for me, may be it's even more difficult when you merge. For me it's no big problem to get your work out of the v0.0.5 version. And for your editing the new things aren't needed, as far as I can see. So I would prefer if you continue with the v005 file.

Wow, Rimmen's already coming along greatly guys, you're all working really hard :P From what I've already seen in the mod, Rimmen is gonna be a really special city, I'm sure :twirl:

Hi Johnn123 Sure i will make the script but i need to know the interior cells name and i will have to make it a quest because alot of the time renting a bed in a inn is a quest.

Also im able to mod around the outskirts of the city and near the palace but if i get near to the market, an error pops saying something about that it cant make a head for a certain NPC and shuts down. Do you know how to solve this.

So you're expert yourself. I knew the forum would help, but this way ... unexpected :P.

The crashes we had were a result of an ESMified Rimmen.esp. We had the ESMified Elsweyr, an additionaly ESMified Rimmen.esp dependend on the ESMified Elsweyr esp and the working esp on top of that. Much to complicated, and didn't work for Johnn123 and me, only for Norinvaux.

But that's different now, so it shouldn't have anything to do with your problem.

Remember now I found an error in the 'TsaesciTail' armor Iliana uses. The Nifs first NiTriStrips is named 'Cylinder02', but has to be named 'lowerbody'. Can be simply changed with Nifskope.

Only an error message for me in the CS, I could work and save and play without problem. Always at the marketplace, as there's this damn Tsaesci vampire hanging around, that's the only thing matching to your problem.



By the way, Johnn123, how do you feed her? It's said the Tsaesci normaly 'use' goblins in Akavir ... but as there are many delicate humans around here, she might get another appetite ...


Got the message that my 'Infernal city' copy is available now, so this weekend I'll check what terrible mistakes our Rimmen version has according to this lore. Hope the statue I'm working on currently is not totally wrong, it's a hellish work, 3 hours up to now and only have one first base. Still 9999 statues to do ... ;)

I did almost everything I wanted to do, except the interiors, but now I have a couple problems.
1. I broke my wrist/hand. Nothing I can do about it. It'll slow me, but not deter me.
2. My CS crashes as soon as I focus on Rimmen. It loads fine, and everyting seems to work okay, but then for some reason as soon as I click on any of the rimmen areas to make it appear in the renderer, a message pops up saying "TESConstuction set has stopped working. Check for solution and end program End program.", or something like that. Any idea why it would freeze right on loading the Rimmen area in the renderer?

lol were not there yet auryga. next update will have that problem taken care of ;) Lang-Mon and the mages guild tsaesci will also be in on the deal
