[WIPz] Elsweyr's Kingdom of Rimmen (Thread 2)

Post » Sat Nov 27, 2010 1:01 am

Not sure about a triangular house :hehe: , but I added a square one and one that begins "curved" and ends "straight" (I am aware that this is a rather strange description).
Here some pics:

A great new tileset. Have you considered removing the support rail at the ends of the upper walkways, so that if desired these buildings could be linked together, or used as a ladder or steps access point, or to allow the walkway to extend onto higher ground beside the buildings?

It looks great Mr. Siika! I would only changed roof texture to something like walls or maybe different colour instead of wooden planks.

New Wallset is finished:
http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenWalls.jpg
http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenRoundGate.jpg. At least its round ;).

Fighters and Mages Guild houses have http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenFighterGuild.jpg rooms prepared for 'Weather - All Natural'. If AN is not installed, the cells at least have Day- and Nightlight, but no rain sound etc. as with the full version.

Some Pagoda pictures:

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenPagodaFromHill.jpg. Hope nobody sees the hole in Dune's palace dome, as I borrowed it's gold for the 'antenna'.

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenPagodaFromMarket.jpg

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenPagodaEntrance.jpg

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/RimmenPagodaMidSection.jpg

Not really finished, collisions still missing. Not satisfied with the roofs, they need a real beam structure below them. Top roof has ugly texture flaws, base part should be little bigger, and top roof little smaller, I think. Will test some 'in-between' roofs, as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Yakushiji3.jpg. Interior room walls are finished, but, as always, inner stairs are missing :P.

Take a break from pagoda for a while, starting with the palace, as I found a lot of nice pictures for that theme. Hope this parts don't take as long as the pagoda ...

Did the size changes, and it looks better now. But:

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/Pagoda3Floor.jpg

What do you think about it?

To solve my stairs problem I think I'll use an elevator ... :P. No, just kidding of course.

3 floors on the updated size models looks good. I'd say go with that.

While 5 floors is more like the image of a traditional pagoda, I'm agreeing with Arthmoor that 3 looks better.

Pagoda interior makes good progress:

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/Stairhouse.jpg need some inner surrounding walls and doors.

Rest of the room is finished already, only hidden in the picture. Collisions missing also, but all of that should be finished before next week if nothing interferes.

Resized (10x!) and retextured some jerall rocks too for the cliff surrounding palace and temple. They make up quite good cliff walls at this size, and with the great forest textures they do match into the surrounding landscape.

Started landscape editing this part, but just 'bug fixing' so far, won't show up in a picture ;). Will do some shots after I've placed the rocks in.

@Johnn123: I'm still looking for a door matching mr_siikas upper class houses, but couldn't find one so far. No time yet to look at your new ESP, hope I can do it this afternoon.

Wondering about this spears in your screenshots, how are they used? There's no default animation for throwing a spear, or have I missed something? The picture looks like it's handled as a sword, which could be an acceptable animation for a halberd, but not for a spear.

Now the first cliff part:

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/CliffsDistantView.jpg

http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz7/Gyoshin/CliffsCloseView.jpg

Think I try to resize the texture some more, might look better. Did an unclimable cliff 'wall' around palace and temple already, just the inner part looks odd currently, so no big picture. But I like the overall look so far ...

@Auryga: the spear uses the default one handed blade animation. same as all the spears found through out the rest of elsweyr. let me know if you find a door im gonna look through mr_siikas resources and see if i can see a door.

Hello humans! I'm just here to introduce myself and say that I can be of help modding rimmen, so if you have anything for me to do that doesn't involve scripting or tesgecko, then let me know. I started to work on creating the city of senchal, in southern elsweyr, but I wasn't getting very far with only me and my friend modding. I then notified that you guys were working on Rimmen, so I thought I might as well help?
