It looks quite good to me, still needs a lot of decoration I think. The layout is kind of hard to see properly, do you think you could get a good areal shot of it?

Anybody mentioned Johnn123's new signature? Ysne58 was so kind to offer us a place for a http://assaultknights.net/obc/viewforum.php?f=52. Main discussions will stay here of course.

Johnn123 set up a 'pictures' thread there, and I'm thinking about a lot of 'claim' threads in there, all that things to be done until ... next weekend? ... hm, end of the year?

@Team: what about a website like http://theblackmarshproject.weebly.com? Mainly to 'accumulate' all those background infos cluttered around in the threads here. I even have to search alot for the things I posted here myself ... a forum isn't that good for storing such things. If anybody wants quick background info, reading several forum threads isn't always that funny ... discussion please ...

The first thing you need for a website is a space to host it. You could go with a place like ning, weebly, or google sites, each of which comes with a site building kit. They are typically easy to use and quick, but won't allow much customization. If you have your own space, or a place that allows you to upload your own code, you can use html/php/flash or what ever else to make what ever site you want. If you don't actually know how to make websites and don't have the money to buy webspace I suggest you go with one of the first site building options, as its easiest.

Ning isn't free anymore.

Wow, thats a lot of response, thanks to all of you!

Technical part of building a website is no problem for me, it's part of my real life job, so I'm more than used to it. Bit rusty on good visual design, had to use fixed 'corporate design' patterns for a way too long time :P ... need to refresh that part, gonna take another look on http://www.csszengarden.com for ideas ...

Don't think we need PHP or Flash, plain HTML will do well enough. Like Blackmarsh; their site looks great to me, nice look without overhead, and quick access to the infos.

Besides Weebly Google sites was already on my list, I'll check their interface too, and take whatever is easier to handle.

Edit: Started a Weebly site, they allow me to customize anything of the page, couldn't find this option in the google sites help. And I like how Weebly builds the website link. On Google sites your only a 'subfolder', Weebly puts your site name in front, that's much easier to type and to remember. Not published yet of course, need my tools at home to do banner and background graphics and such things.

Setting up the website isn't that easy as I thought, want to have a unique city banner for Rimmen and it took all my time yesterday to find this one: http://www5.pic-upload.de/18.08.10/gihp4c39tjj.jpg. Not my own work but as it seems an ancient japanese one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kinojo_Nishimon.JPG. Gonna scratch together each and every lore part on Rimmen now. Took me 'hours' already to understand when it was founded, damn Pocket guide text is very confusing for this german reader :swear:

Thanks, but I don't feel like that at the moment. So busy in real life that I can't even find enough time for a to do list :D.

Think I drop all that Weebly default stuff away and do a custom web on my own. Their interface is quite good, especially for beginners I think, and I like their themes too. But of course I'm more used to work with my own tools.

The only time I've ever made websites I just used Adobe flash CS3. I don't know html or any other popular site-making languages beyond simple scripts, and I've never really bothered with those "Website Maker" toolkits.

As for the mod this forum thread is supposed to be about ( :P ) I need to make a stone fountain thing, and decorate some interiors. Anybody know of a good resource for realistic ponds and/or mini waterfalls?

Also, @Johnn123, That entrance is looking good! Great job so far!
