Have you started the underground areas of Orcrest? You know the sewers, maybe some mines close by, etc...

Wouldn't sewers be a bit of a bad idea, seeing that Orcrest is a really slummy town, and usually only rich cities have sewers. People in slummy towns usually just crap in the streets :P But mines close to the town sound nice :D Perhaps diamond mines...

Just wanted to show you a http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z133/mr_siika/Elsweyr/dune01.jpgof the first meshes for Dune. Iliana, I hope this is roughly what you had in mind!?
You can see a big lower class house and some city walls (used to create the layered structure of the city).

Wow, that was quick!! Those buildings look great. It will make for quite an impressive city. :)

Not yet, that has to wait untill I have more time. There is one underground passage though for the Dark Brotherhood, but its currently closed off. The front for the DB is one of the houses.

That sounds like it is going to be wicked!

Bah... I'm an idiot. Apparently I missed a crapton of textures from one of the ealier updates (probably July) and I was crashing near the gate to Orcrest Town. I suspected missing textures, but I figured figured which ones after I fast traveled inside and saw large purple cattail trees.

I did, however, find a bug. One of the orcs' houses (Borgum Sharzog, I think?) has an error with the door - when you go in, you end up a few feet above the floor.

Where can I go to find quests?
Oh, and I have a strange problem where what I assume are torches are massive yellow diamonds. I'm guessing they're from the November add-on, but I can't see anything else from the November add-on, and in the Data Files, it says it is Elsweyr-September. I have downloaded November add-on twice to no avail. Any help?
By the way, you're not making Torval, Rimmen or Senchal? I was looking forward to those.

You must be missing some textures from the September update. The tsaesci race and cattail trees are both from that one.

& thanks, I'll fix that door.

I included a read-me with a list of quest-givers. But there's no extra ones in the lastest update. If you want to start on some of the guild ones find Ogra the Orc, Jinsiraga and Tynemwe in the city of Corinthe. Minor quests are scattered around in other places.

Its strange about the torches. I guess you mean the ones on the walls of the streets of Orcrest? That just a vanilla item called TorchTall . . . at least I assume its vanilla, it could perhaps be from the Shivering Isles expansion.

No, I didn't have any plans to do the Rimmen and the jungle cities.
Riverhold, Corinthe, Orcrest and Dune is plenty! Towns take alot of time to do because they need so many tiny details and all the NPCs take a while to set up as well.

Oh, I found them all, so no worries. Orcrest Town is a true slum - very well done. :goodjob:

Update on Dune: The meshes for the lower class district are done; Here some pics:

Not sure if the poor district is too small... On the other hand, the smaller, the more FPS ;-)
What do you think?

edit: Iliana, do you think it would make sense to add my http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z133/mr_siika/minotaurVillage/minotaurusCamp03.jpg to Elsweyr? I saw some Minotaurs, maybe it would be cool to give them a little place to live :-)

I was just exploring the lands of Elsweyr, and just when I thought that this mod couldn't get any better, I found out that it extends beyond the map! It was amazing discovering that little fishing village, I forgot what it was called though, but it's amazing. :goodjob:

But then one little question. Wouldn't it be possible to make the map bigger? Or is that a game engine limitation?

But does this map also show the piece of Elsweyr that you normally can't see? I mean the most southern part of Elsweyr.

Wow, that looks sweet. Is there a layout plan of the city we can see?

And I think the minotaur camp would be tight in one of the border areas, spice things up a bit.

Minor issue-

Those man crocodiles down by the watering hole - they are missing textures/have gaps in their crotch areas. Looks funky especially when you kill them and they fall back splayed out.

Iliana, how should we proceed from here? I am not really good at CS-work. The city layout seen on the screenshots is just a suggestion and helps me to see if a mesh is good enough to be released.

Who will build the city? Should I just finish the meshes and place my 'suggestion' in an interior cell, so you can easily merge esps afterwards?

This is looking really impressive. :)

Actually, I could make good use of that Minotaur village. I had already outlined a quest for the Hunters Guild a few months ago which features minotaur bulls gathered to fight it out in their annual mating ritual. It was to be set in Chasemoor Valley, east of Orcrest.

There was a second quest I had planned as well called the Pasiphae Syndrome after that lady in Greek myth who fell in love with a bull.

It might be easier just to send me your mock up of the city within the ElsweyrAnequina.esp as you've placed it in the landscape in the screenshots. I could then take a look around it myself in-game, and then replicate and expand on what you've done in my own current esp.

The lower class district looks like its big enough. It compares well in size with the vanilla towns.

I mean the torches around Duncori Watch and the Imperial Strongholds.

I had a look. Those are just the standard iron sconce lights from the crypts in the cathedrals. Its not an item added by my mod.

Perhaps you've added another mod which replaces that vanilla mesh with a faulty one.
The item has the address -- Meshes/Architecture/Cathredal/Crypt/CathedralCryptLight01.nif
See if you can find something like that loose in your folders. The original one is inside Oblivion's bsa.

Dune is looking great! cant wait for it come out! the orcrest city was perfectly it suits an orc city in everyway great work guys! quick question, isnt rimmen part of the Anequina kingdom? i think it would be great to go with this mod though i dont blame ya for not wanting to make another city!

Rimmen is part of the Elsweyr Confederacy. Its very different from the khajiit cities though because it was founded by Akaviri refugees fleeing Cyrodiil. I imagine it would be more Oriental, in the Akavir style like Cloud Ruler Temple.
I'm not planning to do that one. There is an Akaviri NPC in Corinthe who mentions it as her home city, and tells you that the city is hidden and her people are xenophobic. So I've brushed it off that way.

I was just exploring the lands of Elsweyr, and just when I thought that this mod couldn't get any better, I found out that it extends beyond the map! It was amazing discovering that little fishing village, I forgot what it was called though, but it's amazing. :goodjob:

It doesn't extend far beyond the map though. If you dive into the waters south-east of the village you will also find a coral reef.

Oh yeah. I never noticed that. I dropped one in the CS and twirled it about. It does have a bit of gap between one leg and the torso.

I 2nd the positive comments about the minotaur encampment. It would be great to come across a bunch of minotaur derelicts who live out in the wilds somewhere...and maybe rob/kill people who travel on nearby roads.
