[RELz/Beta] Elsweyr, the Deserts of Anequina (Thread 8)

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:49 pm

Is it just me or is Dune really supposed to be that uninhabited? There's like three guards, one NPC and a few camels on the "streets"... Feels a bit underwhelming compared to how the city appears when approaching it. Oh well, probably just slow ai update. On the plus side, less stuttering with few npcs around.

They are on holiday vacation :obliviongate:

Actually, the city is not fully finished yet. Some sight-seeing is nice though.

Yeah, guessed as much. Still, it's a cool place. I wouldn't mind living in a town that looked like it.

Iliana, I was setting up the map region for Rimmen, and checked your Orcrest region to see how you configured it. When right-clicking on any quad of the Orcrest region (2, -22 to 5, -25) and selecting 'View world here' the CS sets me deep below Orcrest (z -30000). Theres a whole forest of vanilla trees down there, seems it needs some cleanup.

I've seen that forest problem underneath the western border of elsweyr too.

I might be mistaken, but I think it could be caused by dependent esp on the esmified Elsweyr; I'm not sure that it shows up when Elsweyr alone is loaded.

If they're all at -30,000 on the Z coordinate, then there's nothing to worry about. Those will be vanilla objects which aren't wanted. Since deleted things can cause CTDs on exit, it is better to disable unwanted vanilla objects instead. But if you just disable them, then they'll still appear in the CS and that makes a mess when you're trying to work around them. So to get around this, a modder can disable them and drop them to Z -30000. TES4Edit has an option to automatically undelete all deleted objects, disable them, and drop them to Z -30000, so clearly Iliana has used TES4Edit to keep things clean and tidy. Very wise :)

I have to say that it's heartbreaking that Iliana will no longer going to be working on this mod. I was hoping for at least a couple of more updates etc...

Iliana, even if you don't have the time or the energy to do the "help desk" part of it all, do you think that perhaps you'd be up to doing just some content once in a while? On a lot less committed scale? :)

When did she say that she's not going to be working on it anymore?

Give her some time, it's more than just mod-burnout she's dealing with.

On the Nexus Comments thread for the mod.

Luckily, there are others who are continuing the expansion of Elsweyr. This baby is never ending!

Thank You Iliana for all your hard work!

I don't think it'll just fade away. By the way, has anyone else experienced invisible trolls (apart from the horns) on Brukreich Bridge and in the Ne'quin-al desert?? If so, did you manage to get them visible again, and how? I've checked the offending mesh in NifSkope and it's completely visible there. Probably cos the game and Construction Set both use DX and NifSkope uses OpenGL (which in my opinion is way better, as it isn't dependent on Micronots Winblows)

I was wrong the only reason it said it was updated was because someone added a image.

Does anyone notice if there's something wrong with floor texture of all Corinthe's building? The floors resembled what I described as "overheating texture".

Trying to tackle this alone was no doubt hard for her.

This is magnificant though. It's only been a few hours and I'd rather be in Elsweyr than boring Cyrodiil XD.

I just started playing this mod, and I have one word to describe my experience.

"... Woah ..."

If I can ever get a microphone I'd love to do voice acting for this. I think I can do a pretty good Argonian/Khajiit, both male and female.
Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until I can get enough money. Got tons of dental work I need done, and no income. T.T

Hey, I'm reinstalling Oblivion and mods using BAIN and when I order my mods for installation it says there is a conflict between Elsweyr and Dunkerlore. Here is the conflict:
Castle Dunkerlore-6507.7z
Meshes\Landscape\LOD\60.00.-64.32.NIF
Textures\landscapelod\generated\60.00.-64.32.dds

I was wondering what order I should install these, or are they even compatible? Thanks for any help!
