[RELz/Beta] Elsweyr, the Deserts of Anequina (Thread 8)

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 7:02 pm

I presume it can be done, you need only 10 warrior skull and one captain warrior skull, and both can be found in tribes villages... just let it respawn and you'll be fine to find some more...

I think I found the most likable and immersive map for Elsweyr (and Cyrodiil for that matter): http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27791. It even contains Riverhold on the map, the first map to do so I believe. Here are some screenshots of the map:

Marvellous, don't you think? :tops:

Thank you very much. I've been looking for a map that has everything for quite some time. This is the closest I've seen. It's missing Bartholm (sp?), but looks really nice. Fearabbit has a nice one up on nexus, but the Elswyr section isn't quite as detailed. Worm82075 has a nice one of all of Tamriel (I think), but it lacks detail (he/she is still working on it). Actually, a lot of people have some great maps and I should get off my butt and learn how to do it myself : ) Not meaning to put any modder's work down.

Anyway, thanks for the link.

I like the look of the map...but I don't use Sutch...so I will forgo it.

Just to let you know I've found a small bit of landscape tearing outside Riverhold, if you aren't already aware of it.

If you take a closer look, you'll find that the map itself is modular; meaning you can drop Sutch from the map if you don't use it (like me) then choose only the mods you have... ;)

Elsweyr glitch or incompatibility report: Night sky too light during nighttime sandstorm.

Yes, that's to be expected. I tried tweaking it over a year ago, but no matter what I did I couldn't make the sandstorm dark at night. So it will just have to stay like that.

A simple quest question:
Spoiler
I started working the quest where we aid a young tribesman collect warrior skulls. Is it possible to collect enough skulls to satisfy the quest without killing anyone? I've found nine or so by sneaking into tribal villages. Can't bring myself to harm those groups of roaming (?) warriors, as none are my enemies or seem overly evil. No biggy if it can't be done. I'll just revert to an earlier save and ignore the quest.

Thanks in advance!
-Decrepit

That is the only way to complete that quest. You are helping out a headhunter after all!

I think that's usually hidden beneath a mound of fluffy grass. Looks like a leftover from when I merged Riverhold in. Easy enough to fix.

The same object placed twice in the same location. One can be removed.

Oh, on one occasion I had the entire population of Corinthe strolling by me - while I was in Riverhold! I'm not sure if this is reproducible or not, but it was... strange.

It is little touches like that which make this mod great. Btw Mr. Siika, the job you did on the Dune models and architecture are wonderful...I can't wait to see it populated.

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that I took a couple screenshots of Dune a few days ago:

The first one's better, as it gets more of the city into view, but still - it's gorgeous. Excellent work.

I think that Dune has been well designed...except for one problem. The hillside in back of the palace is a major downfall when it comes to protection against any would-be enemies. I think the landscape there should be designed so that there are high cliffs in back. Make them so it would be virtually impossible to climb down them. Invasion problem solved!

Good screenshots. : ) I think you need to run tes4lodgen. Half the city is vanishing without the lod!

I thought there was a huge mountain right behind the palace. And its better fortified than any Morrowind city.

Iliana, do you still have the files you sent me for Mesogea? I am going to work on the mod again, if you have them they would be appreciated.

Wha! What's this doing so far back in the topic list.

I agree Dune is very beautiful, and my music collection for Elsweyr is slowly growing.

Not quite... I uploaded the same picture twice by accident. :( Ah well - the other pic was taken from a slightly different angle, so it's not that big a deal.
