The ground meshes and textures are all ok, the only one that needed to be adjusted was the quad containing Dune. Orcrest still has the same layout so that doesn't need a new one.

Sorry, I mean the buildings/rocks/etc. :)

Mr Siika has made far nifs for most of his new meshes.
And of the old meshes, the only thing changed is the roof texture of the Orcrest houses.

I was just noticing them in here, but most of them don't appear to have been properly stripped to run as LODs. In their current form, they're going to contribute to visual anomalies and memory overload. I can't tell yet if they've been run through a vertex reduction either to bring the poly counts down. With LODs, every last poly that can be shaved off helps immensely.

I created almost every LOD mesh (apart from the Dune town wall LOD meshes) from scratch, I have not just removed the collision data from the "normal" meshes.
So 7 of ~70 are not optimized, I would not say that's "most of them". ;-)

A couple scenes from the expanded jungle region--

Perhaps not Riverhold. That town has mostly cavern homes, and the handful of above ground ones all need the Bravilian verandahs for the paths.

But there is supposed to be a village half way between Rimmen and Border Watch called Valley Guard which they could be used for. Those ramshackle houses could be infested with Renrijra Krin bandits.

Have you had a chance to look at doing a lod mesh for the new Orcrest palace? Its the last piece I need for the update.

I've placed the Noria down in the valley below Dune. One of the ship sounds with creaking wood and the sloshing of water suits it perfectly--

Mmm, I think the Corinthe city walls and towers need that done. They are just using copies of the full meshes for the far_nifs.

Have you had a chance to look at that Orcrest Building01 that Mr Siika uploaded? That was one of the old ones that needed optimising.

I don't know if this has been addressed or not... but i seem to have a problem with certain alpha channels in dust storms and fog. I have Nvidia 260 new drivers.

The Corinthe towers and walls are already done, I can pull those off the RAEVWD add-on pack. I hadn't realized those were already in the main download.

That Orcrest building is the one I can't get imported into Blender. I just freshly reinstalled Blender, PyFFI, and the Blender NIF scripts and it still won't import without throwing an error in the Python console. I don't know why it's doing that.

Let's not forget...the reason jungles are jungles is because the get plenty of sun and water. Don't feel afraid to put in lots of streams and ponds, rivers, etc.

I was looking on TESNexus for Anequina patches when I ran across http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29467 - Arabian music designed for EA. The author says that if you use Better Music System, you can get it to play solely in Elsweyr. It's very good music, though I don't hear a lot of Arabian flavor.

I'll give it a listen, I already have two songs in my BMS folder, that Desert City MP3 someone linked to, and a Xenogears Remix song from OCR. Pillar of Salt, fits decently even with the vocal bits.

Is there going to be optimization done to Corinthe? Especially around the market...? I'm finding it nearly unplayable because of the framerates. I really am loving the mod though, besides this.

Corinthe should already be as optimized as the meshes can get unless Iliana didn't include all of the optimized parts for it.

Hm. I might have to go around disabling some 'unneeded' items then. I'm getting about 10 fps unless I'm standing facing a corner.

EDIT: Of course I am playing on MAX settings running numerous mods...

http://www.4shared.com/file/206577933/5b0cf140/AnequinaFARUpdatesJan2010.html

These are the updated _far.nif files for everything that's currently being included in the primary download and the subsequent updates.

There's also one full sized building that was missing a stencil property on a wooden lattice in Dune.

For folks using the RAEVWD extension

Overwrite the files in that with these. Future updates to the RAEVWD package will no longer contain files that are provided by the primary mod download.

@Iliana:

Meshes\Anequina\Architecture\Orcrest\Tower.nif and Meshes\Anequina\Architecture\Orcrest\FortressTower.nif do not appear to be used anymore. Are they gone or did I just miss where they are now? The _far.nifs for those are not in my update because I'm not sure if they should be.

That link seems to be broken.

Also, am I missing something or has the rest of Orcrest not been opened up yet?

Yes the textures for the date palm fronds, desert trolls and adobe ovens don't have normal maps which causes problems like that.

Let's not forget...the reason jungles are jungles is because the get plenty of sun and water. Don't feel afraid to put in lots of streams and ponds, rivers, etc.

That stretch of coast is dry jungle. So the only water is the main river.

Yes, those were all included in the September update.

Thanks.
The FortressTower is obsolete. The Tower I am still using for Two Moon Temple for the time being. You might want to remove it though from RAEVWD now because it is going to be replaced eventually.

This might have been answered in an earlier thread, but I hadn't seen it. Is Dune currently accessible? I'm up to date on the latest released updates and haven't made it back there since updating. Various dialogue still says it's been closed since the little spat between the kitty-king's kids.

Side note: I love the work that's been done since July (just added the September and November updates) on Orcrest. Love the feel of that city and I can't wait to get access to the Mage's Guild in Corinthe either. Great work Iliana. Anequina offers a great retreat from Cyrodiil while actually making Cyrodiil an awesome place to go back to. Best of both worlds at our finger tips.

Thanks for all your (and your team's) hard work.

Dune will be included in this months update. Its all ready now, I just have to update the readme and upload it.
The palace is still closed off though, and the princes will be warring up there eventually! I plan to turn that into a quest line.

Yeah, I enjoy returning to Cyrodiil now as well. It feels like I'm returning home from a vacation somewhere-else. ;)

I have it now. :)

Here's a few extra lod files you don't have for the raevwd package.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7J4IWVTI

Of the files you sent me, these ones from the Dune folder are obsolete and can be deleted--
CityWall0512_far.nif
CityWallArch_far.nif
CityWallColumn_far.nif
Minaret_far.nif
They were all from the old version of the city.

I'm just using the standard mod. But I think something may have happened to my computer. My framerates have decreased by about 15 everywhere.

EDIT: Weird...after disabling Streamsight my framerate shot back up again. I thought it was supposed to increase it? Oh well, I'm not complaining. I'm gonna go check out Elsweyr again.

EDIT2: Corinthe and Riverhold are no different. Facing the gate in Orcrest I have good framerates again, but towards the market they are still pretty bad.

Streamline is meant to improve FPS. But if you don't get the settings just right, then it can indeed have an adverse affect such as what you experienced. Follow the readme and install instructions carefully, and you should be able to improve FPS when using Streamsight.

Framerate issues in Orcrest are likely from the high polygon counts on those trees there.
