[wipz] Elsweyr - The Kingdom Of Torval

Post » Wed Apr 06, 2011 2:32 pm

Im just getting this tpic started so that the city of Torval will not be forgotten. i recently started top work on this, and realized that i dont have time to create a whole city along with the umerous other projects I am part of. I retextured many Aezarka pieces and a few Skingrad pieces, in order to create some Torval architecture. (Oh, I also retextured oblviomonk's lighthouse mesh)
It looks like it belongs near Valenwood, exactly why I chose it. If you , whoseoever takes this over (By the way, I will choose who takes it over) dont want to use the retextured pieces, thats totally fine, I just made them for myself.
I chose a good location for Torval based on onra's Tamriel Heightmaps, and that is the cells around -11, -75.
And if you are interested in taking it over or just joining, you should post.
I wish you all good luck.
For now I must ascend from the mortal plane. :P

I'm glad to see that people are catching on to the idea of retexturing vanilla city architecture to create new city architecture... the models don't have to be new to be distinctive... look at Kvatch Rebuilt. And those screenshots look fantastic :)

Since you're basing this on Onra's heightmaps, I assume it would be compatible with Iliana's Elsweyr mod (which is required by Onra's files).

Yes it is compatible, and hopefully the upcoming Senchal mod (not mine) will be too.
And thank you. :)

Those are some really nice retextures. I'm curious though - where did you find that lighthouse? It looks Leyawiin-ish in origin.

And please, I didn't do that much work on the retextures. i basically just rearranged textures. I didn't do something amazing. :P
If you look at the original Aezarka meshes you'll understand. haha

Those are some nice pics...I especially like the one building with that tower. Could an astonomer or astrologer live there?

Torval is a good idea! i like the arcitecture, it looks really unique. a few adjustments to the mesh to remove the vanilla feel and it'l be good to go!

I thought the architecture looks like it belongs in Torval, so yea, I guess it needs a little removal of the Vanilla feel.

maybe if you used blender to cut off the circular points of the house and attach it more to the main roof it would look like brand new architecture

I love quests to the max...hopefully, someone will add a WHOLE BUNCH eventually...sort of like Kregenir's Death Quest added tons to the vanilla Oblivion.
