Elven armor & weapons from Oblivion

Can we also assume that Indoril armor is made out of members of House Indoril? And Dark brotherhood armor is made from actual Dark Brotherhood assassins?

this is true. just look at the many types of armor we have today... SWAT, GI, Spec. Ops... just names to classify the armor, not the name of the actual material. maybe the same is true with Elven armor.

Of course it must be true with Elven armour... I doubt that the Elven armour is made out of Mer of some kind.

Normal ebony and glass can, too. Hell, even silver can, IIRC.
Yes, Dremora can wear daedric armour of course, though your other point is more valid: One can say that would be Daedric armour then, too (Provided its possessed by daedric spirits), but a more specific definitions would then probably indeed make sense, heh.

In Morrowind, normal Ebony and Glass weapons could harm spirits, but in Oblivion, only Daedric, silver, and enchanted weapons could hurt them. At the same time, Daedra were no longer immune to normal weapons in OB. It seems like Bethesda wanted the Daedra to be easier to damage while making spirits more difficult to damage.

In case you didn't get it, I was railing about how awfully written that in-game book was. "Blacksmiths can forge heavy armor from iron, steel, dwarven, orchish, ebony or daedric." Gee, really? Blacksmith can forge armor from dwarven or orcish? Hey, Beth guys, do you even read what you write sometimes?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if elven armour was made of an alloy of meteoric iron and a more common metal (probably mithril or steel given the appearance). This would have made it relatively easy to produce the quantities that apparantly exist and the added strength from the meteoric iron would have allowed the armour to be a lot thinner and lighter than it could have been as the base metal.

Oh and on ebony hurting ghosts - for my mind Morrowind had it right- if it is actually considered to be mined from 'god veins' then it shouldn't have a problem hurting spirits. Besides, in Oblivion it is so highly decorated that the silver on it should make it harm ghosts anyway.

I bet that early on in development you still needed a silver or enchanted weapon to kill them but they changed it due to the large number of Daedric encounters. You have to fight creatures immune to normal weapons in Morrowind, too, but not in so large a number as Oblivion. I bet in the actual lore you still need a powerful weapon.
