Elven Swords WTF

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 6:46 am

In Oblivion the Elven blades were more curved, at least the short swords. http://images.uesp.net/thumb/1/10/OB-items-Shortswords.jpg/800px-OB-items-Shortswords.jpg in the middle right beside the glass and dwarven.

I've been looking all over Skyrim for an Elven sword and I found one. It says Elven, but it looks to Dwarven. It's fat. It's ugly. And doesn't have that beautiful elven curve that made me use the shortsword in Oblivion to begin with. It's a bit upsetting because I had been looking forward to obtaining a curved Elven sword for my main character Rashir. In his backstory, his family heirloom is a rare enchanted elven blade. Enchanted with a magical poison. Now I know I cannot get magical poison enchantment. But I had been really looking forward to a curved elven blade at least.

Do they not exist in Skyrim? Is it just the fat ugly sword that I don't really like that just doesn't suit my assasin character.

So they don't have the Elven shortsword in Skyrim....motherfudgers. Really.

Erg.

But Schimtars are Akari....and the family heirloom has to be elven....because my main character is a Dunmer.

Guess...I need to get the PC version of Skyrim to mod this stuff it appears and create my own junk.

The only curved blades I can think of are the Orcish ones which I doubt are what you're looking for and the Ebony ones which I think are pretty nice looking. Other than those though I can't think of other curved blades unless there are some special designs hiding somewhere.

Orcish and then there are some Dragon Priest daggers, but they do less damage than my

Blade of Woe
and my Ebony Dagger. And my Supple Ancient Nord Bow.

I thought the Akaviri blades were more Katana-like?

I really miss the Ebony Scimitars from Tribunal, those were sweet looking.

Different elves, duh.

Elven swords in Oblivion were actually Ayleid swords. I don't know what the origin of Skyrim's elven swords are, but I would guess the Thalmer.

These name schemes have always been stupid, like the developers trying to convince players that they're in a generic fantasy world.

I've only seen one dragon priest so far and he had a staff. But yeah, you'll probably have to wait for mods to make something like that. I myself am thinking of doing a light armor set of gear based off the ebony design when the kit comes out that'll include weapons too. Want to make it craftable as well, but that'll depend on how fast I figure out the scripting for the perks.

Then call it something like Thalmor Elven Blade.

Don't confuse me. I kind of need an Ayleid sword for my Dunmer. Curvy. Beautiful. And elegant. Not fat and like the Thalmor stole from the Dwemer design.

We need an Adonnay's Elven Weapon mod port for Skyrim! His elven swords and bows look so amazing, I would definitely grab them on my Altmer and keep it forever.

Even that would be acceptable in Skyrim.

Do I have to smith it?

The Oblivion Elven longsword wasnt curved at all. Its that bendy one between the dwarven and glass.
