Elves and Skyrim

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 9:11 pm

I just remembered that MK has said many Dunmer refugees ended up in Solstheim. I wonder how this will tie in with the game "Skyrim". Maybe we'll see Dunmer settlements. Also, the elves will have to choose sides in any Nord civil war, or at least try to stay out of the war because of their reduced numbers, I think. It's almost too soon to speculate.

Seen any elves? :stare:

I really want to see how the Dunmer are coping with their Solstheim/Skyrim relocation. Honestly I could see them being particularly close to the Nords despite their long rivalry - both cultures are heavily based upon honor, tradition, and conquest. The two don't really get along with the other mer, either.

Sure, we will propably see some Dunmer who can tell about how they fled from Morrowind into Skyrim and so, but not too many. Most of them fled to Solstheim, conveniently out of the way from us.

There is Winterhold, which was/is(?) heavily influenced by the Dunmer, so this would be a natural point of ingress.

I'm curious (okay, more "school-girlie" excited) to see how the lore plays out in the 5th installment.

I would love to see some dunmer refugees in Skyrim, especially if it meant the return of the Morag Tong (MT > DB). Aside from that, some of them would probably have some interesting stories about their exodus from Morrowind.

I Really want to see more dwemer, there was almost none in Oblivion and Morrowind, I don't think it was made to well, like the exterior was great but the interior was lacking, Oblivion did a great job of it though, I really liked that

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The Dwemer no longer exist in corporeal form (with one exception).

Maybe the Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood alongside one another, and you could choose sides and help your chozen guild try to bring down the other one... Ooh, that would be awesome!

As for elves, I want Dunmer refugees and maybe some Falmer? Though I guess technically they're almost extinct.

And I wonder if they have Daedric and Dwarven ruins in Skyrim... which would be awesome, I loooved them in Morrowind.

It would be fun to see them in Skyrim, but unfortunately I think a new playable race just won't happen...

Yeh I know they no longer exist I am talking about the ruins, although a ghost or two wouldn't be bad

I hope we'll see structures of alien-like construct from the Falmers. Or dungeons or anything Falmerish.
Like in Morrowind and the Dwemer.

Ah, yes. I agree. The ruins made an appearance in Redguard, then Morrowind. It's time they make another comeback.

While this is true, their strong traditions might make tensions even higher if they conflict.

I see this as a high probability. Must have ruins to explore so Falmer makes the most sense for the region. And there is little lore concerning these folk so its all new territory.

If the Telvanni are back, which I don't they really are (I figured they would have managed to escape a lot of destruction, both from the Ministry blowing up Vvardenfel and from the Argonian Invasion. I doubt that the Telvanni could be rooted out by such things), it would surely be interesting to see how they deal with the new fragments of the former Mages Guild.

Actually I don't doubt that Telvanni are alive and well, the problem with them is not that they don't survive - most of their holdings are located on mainland, and thous around the red mountain are mostly in the island region, which would help with the red mountain explosion a little, and the overall power of the house and it's ancient mages... The problem is usually that they don't care about much of anything that does not concern them directly, so they where no help to Morrowind in general, as usually :)
If there is a conformation of them being in I want to see it! I may be repeating my self, but... That would be awesome! :D

Dwemer ruins in Morrowind, Aylied ruins in Oblivion, Falmer ruins in Skyrim. All the ancient reminders of an (nearly/probably) extinct Elven race.
I hope so anyway.

On the subject though, I think the Dunmer and Nords will become BFFs. Just a feeling.
