Frankly, it doesn't really matter to me. Skyrim's theme probably would be interesting on guitar, but nothing amazing.

I love metal of various types and all, and the guy plays well, but I really could careless if it gets done or not.

This reminds me of game play videos on youtube with metal playing in the background, even though the player is doing nothing more interesting than walking.

Can't stand metal themes in fantasy games and/or movies. Completely yanks me out of the experience every time I hear rock music in a fantasy setting.

Here is some clips of me playing guitar.

I think I could easily make a metal arrangement of the Skyrim theme song on guitar.

Good christ, brofist for Paul Gilbert. I've only been playing a bit over a year so I'm not close to that good yet. I gotta stop noodling and start working with the metronome more.

Thanks man. Been playing for about 3 years now and I've never used a metronome until just a couple of weeks ago and I realized I've been wasting a lot of time noodling (but there's certainly advantages to that too). So just keep practicing with a metronome ^^

A bit off-topic, ops.

Anyways, I would much rather try to make a classical guitar arrangement of it, that would kick ass.

Well, I don't really enjoy metal in the official soundtracks unless it's made like Prince Of Persia Warrior Within did it (which is, A HUGE PART of the soundtrack)

Although I really appreciate covers. And honestly, It' always better if he does it and people don't watch the vid, than if he doesn't do it and people keep wishing for it. don't you think?

And I'd also love to hear Daniel Tidwell do it. Hell, that guy made Green Hill Zone epic-er than it already was!

Nope. Metal version of [game theme] is sooooo overdone.

Find me someone who can fart the Skyrim theme, and then we'll talk.

I loved his theme from The Rock. Such awesome music. :D

As to him doing Skyrim, sure, why not. Can't say I'm all that bothered though really. Not sure if we've even heard the full version yet or not. Also the theme would not be anywhere near as awesome when the chanting/choir is removed so... meh.

A metal version seems so boring and ordinary. What I would like to see is a ambient or noise version of the theme. I am actually thinking of doing one myself.

Power Electronics version of Skyrim Theme. If you're wondering what that is, http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/ Click hardcoe, then Power Electronics. But turn down your speakers first.

This post contains no TES music, only music to musicians and instruments it could have been cool on.

You obviously haven't heard Jorge Caballero: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHAVgOf_-aE - quite extreme... I'd even call arranging it for guitar in the first place is impossible - guess someone forgot to mention that to him though :) Also check out part 1. I think he would be perfect candidate for making and playing a Skyrim guitar arrangement :D

For the more beautiful and less powerful Morrowind theme, I don't think anyone comes close to Ioana Gandrabur when it comes to emotion in musical arts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvL9xaUqZGA - would love to hear Morrowind in tremolo style, which few would do as good as her :)

Not serious though, but I wonder how "mutilated" Yuja Wang could make the themes go if she could "have her way" with them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1fgo7hp-Ko - it sure makes me wonder :D Another one of hers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8alxBofd_eQ If you wanted to "jazzify" the themes, I'd say Fazil Say would be the man to have a go at it, his own style. Here is what *he* did to Turkish March: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Whp1kWZ8Y :P For the unusual, I think Morrowind theme in a Theremin and Brass combo could be sweet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EcAiTE0JyE (more normal application of Theremin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePzPpPmgeSU). For the utter outragous - Skyrim on the Chipophone maybe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAuPIgD-TM0 :D

331Erock's was pretty cool, but I'd rather see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBi0oeWuDXM do a cover, if only because he did an entire metal/rock arrangement of the song. Here's the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J46RY4PU8a8 for comparison.

I don't know, not to take anything away from that guitarist, he's technically really good... But so are a lot of people on youtube.
What's interesting for me are musicians that actually can make their own cool songs with a nice melody and feeling rather than just shredding up
some old tune that already exists, proving to the world that they have played a lot of guitar.
