Ememies don't react

With my modded Oblivion, I realize, that some enemies don't react at me.


Only when I want to speak to the Bandits for Example, the Bandit start to figt:



Can anyone help?

Appears to me as AI Overload. How strong is your CPU? How many NPCs at one time have you set in your bashed patch?

My CPU is a 4,4 Ghz. Intel 3570, overclocked.


There is a set in the bashed patch?



Can you explain?

CPU power is unfortunately irrelevant because Oblivion was not designed to take advantage of the more advanced cores. Mainly because they didn't exist when they were developing the game.

This is the magic of Oblivions game engine. It still works.


Other game engines would have crashed.



I would suggest the following.



Go to http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/41863/?site. Its an OBSE plugin. Install it.


Then make sure OSR is installed. With the Heap 6 replacement active, and the Framerate manager, max. fps set to 30.


If Wyre Bash is not installed, install it. Then play for about 10 minutes.


Quit. Open Wyre Bash and inspect the runtimeprofiler log. You will find it in the context menu (right mouse click), in the menu others / anolyse.


look at the .log file in your oblivion root folder, look at its size, and set the amount to inpect to the next full number, so the log is fully anolyzed.


Press 'anolyze". Then after the processing finished, sort the list, and look at the top runtime eaters.


If they are all very high, it is definitely your CPU not being fast enough.


The script engine WILL drastically lower your FPS, also your AI will get scheduled to nothing.


As far as I know the script engine utilizes only ONE core.


So be careful here.



In case you want to run 30 fps, each frame will have 33ms to process. this includes the graphic pipeline, not only the script engine.


Huge script lags will reduce the game to scheduling, loading and heating the CPU.



There is another tool on OblivionNexus which will let you see the average ms per frame, or you are able to see it yourself in the log file.


Some use excel-like programs to sort and anolyse the log.

Additionally I would drop Streamline, and use OR and OSR.
