Emotional Attachment to Piper

And I haven't done Hancock quest, I never had him as companion. But I understand why he would be popular and desirable for girls. Only for two things: Confidence and Power.

The guy has enough self-esteem to compensate for every misfortune in the wasteland, and he's nothing less than the [censored] leader of his own city. A popular man who has everyone bowing to whatever he says is not seeing as a loser junkie, he's the epitome of success in the wasteland and in our world too. So he's not the junkie you see on the streets, he's the superstar ultra famous important man who dies of overdose. Not to mention girls has something for bad boys, despite constantly complaining that everyones treats them bad, girls love bad boys a lot, and Hancock is the badass rebel that steps into the bully that's picking on you to kill him, don't you think any girl would be incredibly wet at that moment?

I also understand why girls would feel atracted to his name. So yeah, he has everything, everything except a pretty face, but that's how girls work, Hancock acts like he has the bigger dike and it clearly has an effect on girls because they know what's really important.

Now compare him with Cait, and you will see why Cait has really nothing to offer or to compete with.

Curie is the only romance option I am interested in. Her romance story is really sweet and I am a svcker for that accent!

I really like Cait. For some reasons all her quotes make me giggle. The only issue with the companion is that their quotes end up getting repetitive after a while. They are really fun at first, but the immersion get killed at some point when you hear the same line hundreds of time. The lines should be locked out after being said few times ... to be replaced by new ones.

I am pretty sure that Bethesda could sell companions deeply developed (let say 10 times more content around it than the current companion coming with the game).

I would really loved having a companion never repeating the same quote more than 2-3 times and having hundreds of those. I am a software engineer and will look if it possible to do so when GECK will get out.

Piper turned me off from the first moment I saw her.

The world is a complete mess and she is dressed in bright colorful clothing complete with "newsboy" cap while everyone else is in rags. Prima donna.

She has been ejected/deported or excommunicated from her home city for doing something bad to the mayor and she coerces a guard to disobey orders. What do you think will happen to that boy at the gate? Callous and entitled.

Her first interaction with you is to make you lie to help her, then she wants to exploit your story for her own profit. Selfish and manipulative.

Sorry but not my cup of tea. They might just as easily named her Piper Kardashian.

I prefer Cait who is strong, dangerous, street smart but damaged or Curie who is smart but just learning about emotion.

For a sidekick, Nick is amusing but Dogmeat has more benefits (with lone wanderer perks). And I like dogs, especially loyal intelligent trained dogs.

Codsworth is a wimp who gets on my nerves, Danse is a little over the top gung ho. He will never reintegrate into society. McCready seems like a jerk, I have not interacted with Strong.

No spoilers but trust me- travel with Curie (the Frenchie robot). Seriously. Can't say more without ruining anything...

I like Piper quite a bit- she's my gal in the game. When I'm playing I definitely build attachments and feel affection for characters in that world. As long as the wall between fantasy and reality is in place there's nothing wrong with that- it means you're having fun and basically effortlessly role-playing.

I've had a few game crushes over the years- probably the most intense were Morrigan in Dragon Age Origins and Lydia in Skyrim. To this day it warms my heart remembering the sight of Lydia impaling an enemy on a greatsword and picking them up off the ground before dropping them like a sack of potatoes.... I miss Lydia...

Maybe Skyrim over Christmas break- nah- too much fun playing Fallout 4!

Can't say that's happened to me in this game. I like Piper n Curie but I often just go solo. Liara in Mass Effect was a different story however. Connected with her personality right away and I guess that's the difference.

as a girl i'll shamelessly admit you've got a fair point haha

one tiny nitpick though; he has quite a few enemies even within goodneighbor, but i guess his ruthlessness keeps them in line for the most part
