Emperor Dovahkiin

Just a random thought that I had a while back. We all know that the Septim bloodline of Emperors was specifically called a Dragonborn bloodline, blessed by Akatosh. Since being Dragonborn meant the blessing of the Divines, it made sense that the Septim bloodline had the one and only claim on the Ruby Throne. However, again as we all know, this line ended with the death of Martin Septim, the last Septim Dragonborn.

Now, I'm curious: wouldn't it technically be legitimate for the Dovahkiin to lay a claim upon the Imperial throne based on the fact that he is, in fact, the chosen one of Akatosh and the last Dragonborn? To me, that would make sense. Imagine the possibilities that this would bring about! A true Dragonborn could probably reunite Tamriel again. I'd think that most people in Tamriel would follow a new Dragonborn Emperor, to be honest.

It's better than that weak excuse of a dynasty that is the Mede bloodline. :P

So, what do you think? All hail Emperor Dovahkiin?

Miraak could claim it too then (Being the first dragonborn) so I'd say no.

I'd say not being physically existant in the realm of the living disqualifies you from the Ruby Throne :P

Unless he wins and gets free (Which we all know is never gonna happen).

But yea, I'd still say no cause the dragonborn is more useful actually doing things for people, not sitting on his/her royal behind arguing with the elder council haha.

My main character, Hrafna, is a Dovahkiin. A very dark Dovahkiin with a mercyless combat style and a supreme mastery over Necromancy.

But I think she'd hate being Emperor, she's already the Queen of the Unliving, she don't need no ruby throne!

"Emperor? Hah! Wait that's not funny. Still, in Shor's name I'd hate it. Sitting on a damn throne commanding people and having to deal with wannabe politicians. Pffft, if I help people it's with my cold heart and black soul, not with the false hopes of a pretty speech...Though I'd use the money for pretty jewelry and fluffy fur coats...but ah screw it, there's other ways for such luxuries."

Jokes aside, I don't really see it happening.

Depends on what you do with the power, I suppose. I could see myself united most of continental Tamriel, resurrecting the Blades as my personal guard and lead the forces of the renewed Empire to kick some Thalmor ass.

Oh, and just for general information: I do think this should be something to do after saving the world from Alduin, of course :P It's a shame that there is little actual reward after destroying the World-Eater. I just saved the world for crying out loud! Give me that damned throne!

The Septim Dragonborn thing is not the same as a true Dragon-Souled Dovahkiin, so it's hard to be sure.
