Empire supporters, what do you think of Tullius?

Post » Tue Jul 30, 2013 12:50 pm

I didn't know a duel made someone a great military strategist? Or am I missing something? I mean sure, Ulfric did take Markarth, but only after he shouted down the walls. There was no planning involved at all. He just took a bunch of Nords, and yelled at some stones and then preceded to slaughter everyone inside. Love that strategic thinking Ulfric, nice.

Hev...really? Comparing the land of endless mead, merriment and food to endless lava and body sacks?

Oh you mean Galmar seems more like a military man, like no nonsense, strict and all that? If thats what you mean, then yea I agree. He is more like that.

If you leave Helgen with Hadvar, he mentions that Ulfric was winning the war and was going to win until Tullius came in which says that Ulfric is better than the average Imperial general which says a lot about him if the Empire had to send their lead problem solver against him.

I didn't say it made him a good military strategist. I said it shows him as a warrior king or military leader. He's a fighter moreso than some politician. Thats the point I'm making. Politicians dont get their hands dirty. Take time to see what I'm saying before you slug sarcasm.

It was more like the Imperial generals before Tullius were not very good at their job. It was only when Tullius who actually gets crap done, that things started to turn around for the Empire.

Yes really. You only get there by dieing in battle. It involves violent intent. It rewards violent behavior, and the glorification of it. The only thing separating it from the Deadlands is the pretty sky and flowers. And the mead which is for milk-drinkers. Real warriors eat Blood-grass and drink lava.

I can't even begin to take this seriously when the entire point of the deadlands is eternal pain suffering and strife, and Sovngarde is peace after a life of war.

Yes. Considering we never really see either of the 4 planning anything major i think it's safe to assume Galmar is man behind most plans. Ulfric seems more concerned with winning the people rather than the war as where Galmar is all about winning the war.

And Ulfric also calls Altmer pointy eared bastards. I guess that automatically makes him a racist person too. He's certainly not understanding Altmeri culture.

I posited a theory (no hard evidence, but fits the facts at hand) that Ulfric was unknowingly receiving intel from Thalmor interests who want the war to drag out (as evidenced by Hadvar saying that the 'Cloaks always seemed to get the drop/jump/edge on them). The previous Imperial general wasn't wise to it, but Tullius was at least suspicious of it (or cut the Thalmor out on principle, saying "I thought this civil war wasn't your concern?" when they get nosy), and cut the Thalmor out of the loop.

Comparing the realm of Dagon to Shor's Hall, doesn't make sense. I think you need to lay off the headcanon, just a little bit; and by a little bit I mean a lot.

I blame that on how the civil war is structured. Which is poorly, as I think we can all agree. But Galmar is Ulfric's General. This may be the case, but if you talk to him about how the civil war is going, Ulfric seems to have a very good grasp on the war and how the campaign should be conducted.

Please post the source. O hope you're talking about what Spike posted on the last page. He said "ever", not "never". There is a difference.

He's talking about the Thalmor. I doubt the Empire is planning to give the Thalmor milk and cookies once the Second Great War starts

That actually makes a lot of sense now that you mention that. I never thought about it like that.

Peace? The first thing I heard when entering the Hall of Valor was screaming and battle-taunts while I'm forced to look at a despicable prideful genocidal warmonger. I then see what the fuss is about and I see Nords fighting each other. Then they get drunk, boast about their pathetic battles, and repeat.

The only difference is that they're milk-drinkers. They want to show real valor, we should throw them in the Deadlands, have them duel with real warriors. I'll listen to their boasts after they do some real fighting.

Seems likely to me, which is funny as the Thalmor shot themselves in the foot. Makes you wonder how everything would have worked out if the Thalmor didnt get involved. Seems like they'd have been better off staying out of it, which they may have done after their first [censored] up, if your theory is correct.

We already saw what Dagon's realm of Oblivion is like. Sovngarde looks nothing like Dagon's plane of Oblivion.

So drunken brawls compares to torture and slaying, and means they're unpeaceful? No one dies in Sovngarde. Or in the daedra's case gets banished. (Not counting Alduin's visit) They just dont compare no matter how hard you try, Hev. Let go of that nord hate for a bit.

I wouldn't bother trying to convince him otherwise. Apparently when you're stuck with your bias, absolutely nothing will change it.

Indeed. it's the milk-drinker version. The concept is "similar". They both revolve around blood-shed.

Lorkhan and Dagon are like Bros. Except Dagon's got an attitude because big brother Lorkhan never hanged out with him as kids.

You're forgetting Shor and Lorkhan aren't the same even though they're from the same god.

They aren't similar at all. Sovngarde and the Deadlands I mean.
