Empty folders after reinstalling.

Hello!
My problem: The Mesh, Textures, BookArt and Icons folders are completely empty, not a single byte in them, after reinstalling Morrowind.

After my first installation everything was fine, all the files and subfolders were in place, but i had to reinstall for another reason.
It was after my second installation files went missing, there was only 2 files in the "Data Files/Meshes/b" folder.
I uninstalled Morrowind and CS, rebooted and tried again, now the "Data Files/Meshes" and others were completely empty.
I've since then reinstalled countless times in different locations without any change...

The weird part is that the game is working flawlessly (which I don't understand how when the files aren't there!?!?!?)
At this point you're probably wondering "If the game is working how come he's whining?"
The answer is simple: I can't install mods that use these files since they aren't there.

I'm running on Windows XP and note that copying the "Data Files" folder from the construction set disc doesn't work somehow.

There are no meshes, textures etc, because they are all stored in .bsa "archives". That's how replacers work - if a game finds, let's say, two same textures, one in .bsa and another losse in TExtures folder, it will use the one with newer timestamp.

Shorter version: you are fine. that's normal.

Aha, I see, thank you.
Yes the game is working perfectly, but as I wrote before; The problem is that since the files aren't there I am unable install some mods, more specifically the Morrowind Graphics and Sound overhaul

Any ideas on how to make it add these files when installing? (adding the files and folders afterwards from the cd doesn't work)

Okay there are two ways to do this, I'm gonna tell you the easy one move a mods datafiles section into your morrowind folder, then it'll ask you if you want to merge the (now two) datafile folders, select merge and tell it to combine all other two-of-the-sames... you are now done...

btw: Words may not be exactly the same since my windows 7 is on another language...

you could also just create new folders and give 'em the correct names... like for example "B" for the bodyparts or "C" for clothing...

Thanks guys, I must have done something wrong before, because copying the files again seemed to work.

To all of you with the empty folders problem: Open the Construction set cd and simply copy the content you need to your Morrowind location.

There's no need to do this, as I said all stock resources are stored in .bsa files.

I KNOW that the game works without the files, I even wrote that in my first post.

My goal was, like I've said before, to install a graphics mod.
That certain mod needed to modify those files, but the files weren't there, and therefore I kept getting an error in the mod installation program.

So yes, I needed to do that. ?_?

Anyway, problem solved.
