Encalve In Fallout 4?

Post » Tue Dec 21, 2010 6:34 am

The only reason Eden offered the LW to join the Enclave was because he needed someone to put the FEV into Project Purity, and I'm pretty sure Eden didn't trust his soldiers or Col. Autum enough to do it.

Or maybe he knew that the BoS could be a threat to the purifier and tought it was best to keep the virus until the Enclave had the code to activate it?

Probably not, but theories are always welcome I guess...

Letting people "join" the enclave would be adverse to the reason for the enclave.

Working for the enclave is another matter, but the enclave should either only offer suicide missions (or missions that they think are suicidal) or attempt to kill the PC when he has outlived his usefulness.

if you are a Vault Dweller, you are basically pure human, making you "perfect" for the Enclave.

Tell that to the folks of V13.

Going a little off-topic, anyone here has the video of the enclave murdering the dwellers from Vault 13?

In the last Broken Steel mission, I destroyed the Citadel, meaning they would still be some what strong...

Cheers,
SCRuBSFan

The Citadel being totaled would just give the Super Mutants the BOS had been holding at bay some leisure time to hunt 'clavers to dip. ;)

I don't want to see or hear about the enclave or bos in the next game.

I'd join just so I could get an inside oppertunity to kill of those sadistic evil louts again, Just like I did in Fallout 2.

well if you have to choose sides isnt that like joining that faction? you kinda contradicted yourself

and why no joinable factions? adds alot of fun to a game, you dont have to join one if you don't want to

Well, if it is handeled the opposite to how it was done in Oblivion - where I could join and lead every group without any skills or requirements and people would yell "Hail Archmage Undecaf!" and when I speak to them they don't know me ask me if I'm new around here (or they don't know me enough to trust me and thus won't tell me the latest rumors about mudcrabs) - I guess it would be fine. Like joining group A - with appropriate requirements - cuts off group B and after a certain point there would be no turning back.

But my personal preference is the free agent/mercenary approach - which I don't see as straightforward joining as you wouldn't be labeled and given a uniform and appropriate gear to the faction.

Yeah being able to join factions has been around since the original Fallout, and is in fact a feature present in Fallout 3. There's nothing wrong with being able to join a group, but I don't think there should be a system like TES where you can rise to the top over the course of a few days.

I don't want to see the Enclave or any of Black Isle's creations any more 'cause Emil and Todd just can't do them justice. Besides, I'm pretty sure the next main antagonist will be the Commonwealth.

If there's the Enclave, people will complain about Beth's lack of imagination
If Beth makes something new, people will complain about how Beth "once again" murdered the series.

This poll is useless.

Couldn't agree more. To some people, Beth is in a lose-lose situation if they don't introduce the 100% perfect (to them - which is different to every person) new organization.

I'd like to see it be the Commonwealth. Lots of opportunities for quests and mystery. Who is an android, who isn't? Should you help them break free or help control them? Hell, you could have the player BE an android.. but maybe you don't know it until later which adds a whole new dimension!

Unless for some crazy reason, FO4 starts the player off in the Enclave, giving them the most advanced weaponry and armor in the Fallout Universe. Then I don't see how you could join really. So no.

No one is expecting perfection from Bethesda; especially not the people who are hardest on them... trust me on that one.

Ideally Bethesda should introduce a major faction that is both developed, and fits in with the retro-50's setting. The Commonwealth has loads of potential; the only questionable aspect is the androids which resemble something from 70's or 80's Sci-Fi more than they do 50's sci-fi. That ship has already left the harbor though.

I just want options. I don't want to be forced down one path. I'd love to join/fight with the Enclave if they're in the next game, I'd like to join/fight with the Outcasts if they're in the next game. I just want choices to make.

I don't know why there can't be a TES style faction system, except in this case, the factions would be mutually exclusive. In fact, i think that would be pretty cool.

People aren't sick of this faction already ? Sheesh, after two games, it's time to give it a rest. I doubt anyone'll "murder" Bethesda for a new faction, as long as it's not horrible - the Commonwealth is an intriguing faction they've hinted at.

The Enclave has no imagination, and the entire faction is too reminiscent of the Nazi regime (in philosophy as much as appearance) for my comfort - they make Much better enemies to be slain. :)

A lot of them haven't played Fallout 2, so Fallout 3 is their only exposure to the faction. Even so wanting them to return after even one game is a bit much; Fallout features one shot antagonists (and 'heroes') like most RPGs, not recurring antagonists. Black Isle's Fallout 3 was going to feature a mad scientist as the antagonist with the Enclave only receiving a passing mention like The Master in Fallout 2; in Black Isle's continuity the Enclave would have been long since disbanded.

I still don't get why people on this board are so pro Enclave. And yes, they have over stayed their welcome as a villain. Fingers crossed for the Commonwealth and The Institute in Fo4.

I'd love the option, but it would have to be thought through before putting it in there. E.G not just being able to walk into one of there bases and hand in your CV..

I don't mind hearing of the enclave in FO4, i don't even mind exploring an abandoned enclave HQ/Building/Fort/Base.
But i do hope they don't appear as a large enemy in the next game. We have had our helpings of enclave, don't force feed them to us bethesda.

Without getting too deep into contemporary American politics, the Enclave in FO3 is just about the most American thing in the game, and it would be the "Enclave Attitude" which would cause the war in the first place. I Thoroughly enjoyed the Enclave story arc, all the way to the end, which I thought was brilliant. In FO2, I felt the Enclave was treated shallowly, as a sort of faction of punks. The Enclave in FO3 strikes too close to home with it's rather nasty political satire.
