Enchanted armor

Post » Wed Apr 06, 2011 8:21 pm

So I would very much like to see the comeback of how enchanted armor was in morrowind. Like how there were passive enchants and there were enchants that gave you a spell to use, which of course was based on the amount of charge you had on the item. would anyone else like to see this comeback?

I definatly would like to see it return, I want right and left shoulder paldrons and gloves and layers of cloths like a robe to toss over my armor. I would also like to wear multiple rings on my hands and a bracelet on each arm it would be great to enchant all of it as well.

the armor should have a different appearance of aura for every different enchantment you put on it, your character would look awesome

what I want is armor that doesn't look like glass when enchanted, but instead have some kind of aura around it

Yes that would be great as well, I hated how it all look like it would break an aura befitting the spell type is great.

I don't want that "aura" automatically because I want a spell that says "detect magic". *Then* things will start to glow up, on you or on foe (if targeted spell) or on everything around you (if non targeted spell, like detect and night eye). If you want the glow, pay for it with enchantment points (probably cheap), I think many of us don't want to be bothered with weird post effects that we don't agree on the look on.

I would like an enchantment system similar to the one in morrowind (you could give any enchantable object any type of enchantment). Aura wise, I would like to have this only the moment you equip the item. It would be interesting to add two free enchanting effects, acumulable with any other effect, making that when you wear the object with this enchant any other magic object you have equiped glow or loss its glow, making this way the glow a players choice (of course no vanilla object should have this effects).

Agree with this one. Give us the option to track magic, but make it a choice. Some effects will of cource look cool, but some probably wont *caugh* shield spell, morrowind *caugh*

Nah, if you can put those kind of enchants on your stuff then what's the point of being a mage? If they return it to the way it was in Morrowind people a'gonna flame the hell out of the forums for the disbalance. :flame:

I have a hard time making my mind up on this one... So I guess I wouldn't mind terribly.

Because it's impossible to have balance when you can enchant all armor parts.

i prefer the way of oblivion constant effect as is make more sense for a enchanted item to be constant than being cast.

Well i can understand that but first its a single player game second in morrowind most of the armor that had actual spells that came with it were special and could only be found in one place. Example Boots of blinding speed.

Yeah, oblivion enchanting was underpowered to the point of uselessness.
Thats what you get for listening to silly people spouting nonsense about balance in a single player game.

Sarcasm? You could become godmode using lesser soul gems and chameleon/absorb/reflect on all your clothes.

Also that "nonsense" is supported by Bethesda. They don't like cheats and exploits.

Yup underpowered.
And I do not consider purposely trying to break the game the same as unbalanced.
Purposely trying to break the game is keeping reloading at oblivion gates each time until you have those 4 chameleon stones after lvl 17. Do you see? You did that, not the game.

Yup underpowered.
Because there was only constant effect and on strike, and using souls on enchanting altars gave very poor results.
Couldnt even put more than one effect on one armor.
Next to useless.

I would rather have the constant effect enchantments from Oblivion, as long as they are limited; eg. can't have more than 75% resistance to fire or something. Otherwise "Hello invulnerability".

And about the getting spells from enchanted armour.........isn't that what scrolls/ being a mage is for?
