Enchanted items issue

Post » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:26 am

I have enchanted several items with shock damage. From my previous experience with vanilla Morrowind a few years back, enchanted items are supposed to fire almost instantely after you clicked them until their charge runs out.

The problem is, however, that when I attempt to fire my shock spells nothing happens and I get this "out of charge"-sound. But the item is fully charged and it displays (100/400) meaning I can fire it 4 times. However, if I keep spamming the fire button it all of a sudden fires the spell.

I have no idea why this happens.. (I have the Morrowind Sound and Graphics Overhaul installed)

My advice to people who are encountering problems with mods is always "uninstall and re-install" although in this case i think it may be a game problem  Have you tried loading a previous save and seeing if it happens then?

Done!!

It might also be worth mentioning, that I had to reninstall the code patch, since I noticed my anti-virus had removed it. (this incident did mess up my in-game map a little.)
Could it be related?

It's being caused by the Morrowind Code Patch; it's a feature, not a bug, but luckily one that you can choose not to use. I do not, however, remember what the option is off the top of my head; I've been without a computer for six months so you'll have to forgive me.

It was done for balance, as machinegun rings were a little OP so hrnchamd gave them a cast delay like regular spells.
