Enchanted items not working

Post » Thu Dec 01, 2016 5:13 am

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help with a problem i'm having with enchanted items.

Recently all my enchanted items have stopped working. For example i have a helm, bracers, ring and necklace all enchanted with alchemy + 25%. I put the items on (they show up under magic status) but they do not improve the strength of the potions anymore.

- My alchemy skills are at 100

- i've tried removing/adding the items several times

- Tried making new enchanted alchemy items

- put the items in a box/take them out again

- uninstalled/reinstalled the game

- am using skyui mod with skyrim script extender

I think it is related to the mods as I had put my enchanted items in a box. If i remove the mods the items dissapear from the box as well, but even without the mods the enchantments don't work.

Aside from starting again i'm not sure what else i can try.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried enchanting new items and seeing if they work? And is it only your alchemical enchantments that are broken?

Craft a potion without wearing that fortify gear and compare... chances are the base one will still be less than the fortified one. Don't go by the listed "x% more effective" value as that can change depending on a whole number of other things, and even change for the same item viewed in a new session or loaded game. Use the gold value as an indicator, and if your proposed potion has the same gold value (or more) as the ones you previously crafted then you'll know it's not your enchanted gear, it's something else (like perks or blessings). The same issue also exists for smithing and enchanting, where the displayed % effective or listed enchantment magnitude can vary up or down depending on other active things, but the calculated gold value of the item is consistent enough to let you know if the item is equal to, or an improvement on other similar things you've crafted.
