Enchanting/Alchemy

Post » Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:14 pm

So I have a few question. In both Morrowind and Oblivion I never really got into alchemy or enchantments. So, I just have a few questions.

What is the purpose of Alchemy? Besides, trying to turn basic metals into gold.

Can you enchant both armor and weapons?

Is it better to make your own enchantments or just to buy them?
I play a fighter type character so just seeing if it is worth it.

Any speculation on alchemy and enchanting for Skyrim?

to create potions and poisons that aid you in some way

Can you enchant both armor and weapons?
yes armor can get only 1 enchantment weapons can get more

Is it better to make your own enchantments or just buy them?
I personally make my own

Any speculation on alchemy and enchanting in Skyrim?
I don't think alchemy will change very much but we we know enchanting is a skill this time

i speculate you will be able to enchant anywhere idk if it will require soul gems again (honestly i thought it was crazy annoying to fill up) hopefully it will be based off magika. alchemy was honestly useless in oblivion personally cause i made so much money it dident matter i hope it makes a good comeback it would be awesome if done just a little better. and if ur a fighter espically with this new combat system and dragons you will most likly die horribly without them i think everything jjust looks as if you will break everything arond you in extreme anger with those pesky dragons swooping down upon you

Alchemy is the science of exploiting game mechanics for massive profits and skill boosts brewing potions and enchantments are the art of exploiting game mechanics for massive profits and skill boosts imbuing common weapons and armour with magical properties.

Not much info on alchemy or enchanting in skyrim but from what we know from previous TES tittles:
The purpose of alchemy is to make potions to restore, cure, fortify, etc or to make poisons to damage, weaken, silence, paralyze, etc.
As for enchanting it was in MW but I never really used it so I can't tell you more.

In Oblivion, alchemy allowed my warrioress to have access to things like healing and buffs, without relying on spells.

First of all Alchemy in Morrowind and Oblivion do NOT turn basic metals into gold. Just saying. Second Yes. You can enchant both armor and weapons. If you stick with Alchemy it will become your greatest assets in Morrowind and Oblivion. At the highest lvls and with the best equipment you can create a triple damage poison that is able to deal over 700pts of damage.
