Enchanting needs to be changed

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:29 pm

So, I like that you can freely enchant in this game. I even like that you can destroy a magical item using disenchant to learn the enchantment. But that's also the part I DON'T like. I got seriously enchantment-happy and disenchanted a bunch of items early in the game. Sadly, all the enchantments were things like, 'Increase Magicka by 10 points'. Are you telling me that now that I have an item that will increase my Magicka by THIRTY points, I can't disenchant it and learn a more powerful version? I'm stuck with a measly 10? -__-

Bare in mind that I have over 12 enchantments now that are all low and weak like this now.

If you get all the enchantment perks, your enchants will be around 100-150% stronger...

Enchants are really OP coupled with other Skills.

NO. I disenchanted robes that made destruction cost 12% less to cast and makes magicka regenerate 10% faster. Using my perks and using bigger soul gems WILL change the destruction part and will allow me to make that, 'Destruction spells cost 50% less to cast' BUT the Magicka regen part WILL NOT BUDGE. And that svcks because I have robes that make destruction cost 75% less to cast and magicka regenerates 100% faster and CAN'T USE THE ENCHANTMENT:((((

Your enchantments get more powerful when your skill goes up, and especially moreso when you take the perks.

Go look at the perk tree, the very first one can be leveled five times so that you can have your enchantments be 100% more powerful.

No, really, you'll see in time, don't sweat it.

The item you disenchant has no effect whatsoever on the power of your future enchantments. None.

*shakes head and sighs* Disenchanting is for the type of effect only.. it has absolutely nothing to do with the parameters of said effect on the item disenchanted.

You just gain the EFFECT; not the power of the item you disenchanted.

You could disenchant something that adds 50 points to whatever; but if your enchanting is really low, you'd only make an item with around 8 points.

As you gain in enchanting, the power of the effects increases.

You can also boost how powerful your enchants are with alchemy.
With 100 alchemy, and 100 enchanting i can get +47% archery enchants for my gear

Good news!

Magicka regen is worthless. Invest in only cost reduction and get it to 100% your spells will be free and it works in combat unlike the terrible magicka regen which gets neutered in combat.
