Re-Enchanting?

Post » Sun Jul 14, 2013 3:31 pm

I was wondering if anybody knew of a mod out there that allows you to re-enchant something, as in take it's current enchantment off and replace it with a different one. Or even just a mod to disenchant something without destroying it (and also allowing you to disenchant an enchantment that you've already disenchanted).

Reason is I got armor from a mod, and you can't craft it, you just pick it up in a chest. I enchanted it when I got it with a pretty weak enchantment and I wanna redo it so I can keep on using it. Sounds simple but I can't find anything to help me.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Doubt there is a disenchanting mod like you are looking for.

What you can do is get the default item IDs and give yourself a new set.

I have an idea or two bouncing around about how I could do it, but it'd be a really clunky and not very smooth workaround. The best I could think of is summoning a container option at an enchanting table, where - if you put an item in, it retrieves the item's Base ID and spits back out a copy. But I have no idea how to match tempering.

Thanks for the help! I'm just gonna put in the id to get a new set. I don't want anybody to go make a complicated mod on my behalf when there's a simple solution.

Can anybody tell me where you'd get the default item ID for mod clothing? Would it be in the files or something? I don't think there's readme for the mod in question.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console and use the command:

help "item name"

you don't need the full item name, you just can use part of it. If there are too many results, you can use PgDn and PgUp to scroll around.

There's http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31967/, but it's kinda janky and only works for vanilla items.
