Enchanting trainer beyond level 90?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:18 pm

I want to enchant my daedric bow ("legendary", damage 139) with the best enchantment possible, but it's boring spending time on an arcane enchanter table in order to level up -- too laborious and takes too long.

Is there anyone who can train me in Enchanting beyond level 90? I was training with Hamal at the Temple of Dibella, but found out that she only trains until level 90; then I searched all over and found no other trainer so far (I avoid reading the wiki because of the spoilers).

My enchanter perk is 5/5, and I won't spend any more skill points on the enchanting perks tree (I'm level 54 right now, skills points are a rare luxury and it's getting complicated to level up without moving away from my play style...).

If there is no one else to train me, does anyone know the easiest way to reach level 100 on Enchanting?

Thanks in advance.

Yes in fact I have but found no trainer there... I don't know if I must complete a quest first or if I just missed the guy/gal. In any case I will return there and double-check. Thanks.

Get lots of Petty and Common Soul Gems, capture low level souls and recharge your weapon in small increments.

I'll give it a try then. Thank you for the hint. ;)

Hamal is the master trainer for Enchanting, and no trainers can train higher than 90 in any skill. You have to do 90 to 100 all by yourself.

None of the trainers in any of the skills can train you past 90. Up to 100 in all skills has to be done manually. I just did this over the weekend and i found it easiest to load up on petty or lesser soul gems, and a soul trapping weapon (mace can be obtained at the end of house of horros quest if you dont have one). Go wandering around the wilderness just west of Whiterun. There are planty of wolves, those crab things, and other misc creatures to kill and trap the souls of. I think to go from 90 to 100 took between 40 and 50 enchants. Dont worry about or try using higher soul gems, you get the same amount of experience from enchanting an item with a petty as you do a grand. Once you have the the gems then just load up on simple small things to enchant. Daggers, rings, etc. If youve explored enough you may have plenty of gold/silver ingots. you get 2 rings for each ingot. I just smithed about 50 or sixty rings and enchanted them. that got me up to 100.

Remember the higher the value the more experience you get for enchanting, I found that fortify skill enchants work pretty well

Like others have said... no trainer can get you past 90, but you can make it easier on yourself.

- Use the Mage's Stone (outside Riverwood) for 20% skill growth bonus, and be Well Rested for another 10% on top (15% if married), for up to 135% growth over all.
- Save the skill books. A single one can take you from 99 to 100 which would normally take 6-8 enchants to accomplish. Easy ones to find are:
  • "Twin Secrets" in the Winterhold Jarl's room (hidden in a basket).
  • "Enchanter's Primer" next to Carlotta Valentia's bed (in Whiterun).
  • "Complete Catalogue of Enchantments for Armor" in Falion's house in Morthal.
  • See http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Enchanting#Skill_Books if you want to find the other 2.
- A little late now, but you should buy every filled Petty Soul Gem you can find. The soul gem size does not affect the skill increase, and these are the cheapest by far. Vendors in the Mage College sell 1-3 of these each.

This^^^ is the only way without using the table. You could go back to the smithing/enchanting grind. Make a ridiculous amount of iron daggers, enchant them, sell them, rinse and repeat. Super boring, but it will get you there with minimal effort. The better the enchantment effect, the more your level will increase, so find the one that creates the highest dollar value dagger, and do that one over and over. There may be a way to do a defensive enchantment for even more experience, bracers wouldn't cost any more to make, but might be more useful in the end? not sure....

Kudos to you both and everyone else above. The books will come in handy. And I guess it's better for me to stick to the arcane table after all -- boring, yes, but easier nonetheless...

After that I will stop levelling up as it seems... I don't want to move away from my style of play, and every skill I actually use is already maxed out. Sigh... :sadvaultboy:

Stilts is right about the petty soul gems. The Whiterun mage has quite a few soul gems to sell as well, and stands right next to the table, so.....

There must be copies of these books around (and I must have read them), for none of them granted me advancement in my skill...

Either that or I don't get it...

Edit: Removing double-quote.

Takes like 5 dagger enchants to level up. It's fast and easy, you just use the most expensive enchantment you can find. Paralyze does well if I remember right.

with some planning its possible to level a skill from 90 to 100 just from books and misc quest.

especially easy with archery as a certain quest nets you 6, skillbooks 5, and msic quests 2-3.
