Enclave and Super Mutants

Post » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:22 pm

Just wondering if there is any way for the Enclave Remnants to make a comeback (and win) that doesn't involve gigantic plot holes or bad writing? I know the Enclave are basically either all dead or really old but the Remnants in NV can still put up a pretty good fight. And by comeback I don't mean "hey guys lets go to D.C and take over" but just a small town or something kind of like Navarro.

I actually would like them to be less on scope but not dead.. I am assuming that they will centralize their efforts in less risky places..

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking maybe like an old secluded army base or bunker but not like the scale they were in Fallout 3 that made no sense at all.

Remnants of the Enclave who have given up in the idea of nation wide (global genocide) of anyone not Enclave... Could find an ally in a like minded faction.

Such a faction I can think of would possibly (if Bethesda makes it canon) the Midwestern Brotherhood under General Barnaky.

Under Barnaky the MWBoS actively kills all mutants and those that side with them. Since we learned the Enclave have/had an outpost in Chicago in Fallout New Vegas and we know the MWBoS is in Chicago as well given that it is their back yard and mentioned in Fallout 3. And it was hinted in FoNV that the MWBoS are also still in Colorado. So this would mean the MWBoS is a faction that still has locations across the Midwestern United States.

The way I see it, the Enclave on their way to DC set up their outposts in Chicago as a relay. There they encounter the MWBoS. The MWBoS greatly out number the Enclave but have an advantage in tech. The MWBoS make a deal with the Enclave. We let you pass through our lands freely, if you share your tech and knowledge with us. The Enclave have made deals in the past with wastelanders if it suits their needs. So they make a deal, leave some people behind at the outpost which they were going to do anyways.

After Fallout 3 the remnants from DC regroup in Chicago. Knowing their only chance left at regaining any real power is to work with the MWBoS. They don't breed with them or anything like that, but they agree to be the MWBoS' tech guys in exchange for protection, a buncher and supplies. The MWBoS let Enclave join and become elders and the remnant's influece could then grow.

Not saying I would want that, but I can see it as a possibility.

Since it talks about the Enclave outposts in Chicago it would make since they would go there. Maybe all the Enclave that didn't want to kill all the mutants (just kill supermutants, and maybe ghouls) relocated there. If I remember correctly Colonel Autumn was like that it was Eden that was hardcoe anti mutant. And since there was the option of letting Autumn live maybe we'll see him in the future?

This has nothing to do with the topic.. But people mentioning Chicago reminded me of Fallout Tactics and spurred a thought.. Do the Brotherhood of Steel still have those airships? Always thought they would be cool to see in a newer Bethesda title..

If Augustus is still alive I could see him leading remnants towards allying with Barnaky's MWBoS (if that us made canon) and helping them fight the Mutant Liberation Army and other factions.

The airships were scattered, lost and destroyed in the storm. The biggest of the airships crashed outside of Chicago. The one that carried the founders of the MWBoS. So no they don't still have airships, but they could possibly have access to this ==> http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hellion

That makes a lot of sense especially giving the Brotherhood's technology fetish and the last time I checked vertibirds and power armor were in pretty short supply.

Hope not. They should not have been in Fallout 3 either.

They shouldn't be the main villain again. I liked how they were handled in New Vegas - bits of their armour scattered and a few remnants. I think they should be handled in a similar way in Fallout 4, just as a way to get their power armour. :P

You can only be just about eliminated so many times before a comeback seems implausable....

Unless they stumble across a facility full of working clone-o-matic™s, it would have massic continuity issues.

You know.. I would like if they became something different.. Like perhaps they scattered and allied with Raiders.. Some of those raider groups became very powerful from the tech the Enclave was able to supply.. Thus adding in several new factions which could bring more havoc to a already destroyed East Coast..

In my opinion they have completely died and shouldn't return.
As for remnants well i don't really want them either we can't just have an infinite amount of them, maybe one or two but there numbers should drop as time progresses.

I just don't like the Enclave always being the bad guys every time. More like the remnants just a bunch of old guys with advanced weaponry. And they don't all have to be old they would have had kids right?

I don't like the Enclave being bad everytime either.. But naturally I think they would fall into a Raider group and form small factions.. Just because there is unrest between large factions in areas doesn't really mean any which one is bad or good..

I get what your saying but I honestly can't see Ex-Enclave members going raider. I understand them raiding Brotherhood or NCR patrols and maybe the occasional weapons caravan but not joining a bunch off blood and guts junkies living in old ruin. If they did go raider I'd think of something like NCRCF, a fortified base they use as a staging area,

LOL.. Well.. I don't think they would join them but rather lead them into a new form.. if that makes sense.. Quite like modernizing them to become more effective.. Its a win win.. Enclave gets more people and Raiders would get food, strength, power, safety, etc.. I always thought of raiders as the tribals who are kinda just starting up to become a faction.. I don't expect a faction like Caesars Legion or NCR to have started as they were in New Vegas or Fallout 2.. It would be like Caesars legion 2.0 in a way.. Except more advanced tech..

I think I get it know, the Enclave members would be the head honchos and the raiders would be sort of like conscripts or just canon fodder. And I'm guessing they would follow Caesar's and Ashur's examples, kill the leader and recruit the rest.

The Enclave that we know and love/hate is dead, forever. Although it is all together possible that other Enclave sub-factions may be active in the Midwest and South/SouthEast.

Depends entirely on the numbers of Enclave:

A. at Chicago before Fallout 3.

B. that survived Adams Air-Force Base and the Capital Wasteland debacle.

Given fairly favorable results to both of these, its completely possible that a Mojave Brotherhood (or slightly larger) sized Enclave group is still located at the Chicago outposts. Or elsewhere possibly if they recolated.
