Non-Volunteer: The character has been either pressed, levied, drafted or otherwise forced into working for the Enclave. They are given crude armor and melee or small guns and a little ammo and made to march in front of the armored Enclave Soldiers.

Volunteer: Volunteers are rare but they are treated marginally better than the other recruits and told that they will be properly inducted into the Enclave "once we get back". They are given their pick of the small guns and ragged body armor. Possibly even a stimpack or a flathead screwdriver/bobby pin as well.

Commissioned These characters are generally unarmed but instead carry tools and laptops and other tools of their trade. This would include all those who the Enclave had on board their Vertibirds before they hit the hot Four Corners Monument electrical storm that permanently grounded them weeks ago before they began their expedition to the nearest radio four hundred miles away. Or sooner. Every little colony, settlement and one horse town they came to was checked for anything as simple as a HAM radio. Lord knew they were everywhere in DC. But this wasn't DC...

Vaulty Niner Prisoner what started as one hundred and thirty one Survivors of the Vault Nine Cleanout (of which only about fifty were being transported at the time of the disaster) for the Enclave Patriots has been reduced to a little more than a tenth of that many since they were given very little food and water and forced to march along with everyone else. Some were just shot, and worse. They were sopposed to be getting taken somewhere called "The Farmshop" which apparently was "hundreds of miles from here". That is all any of the Enclave have really told any of the Vaulty Niner Prisoners.

Was actually born an Enclave

Those who have the highest Enclave Rating are of course The Enclave themselves. There are Several NPC Officers who will intro In-Game. Also there are about a dozen Enclave Hellfire among the ranks of the Patriots. Their weapons work fine still so they are snubbing the Firstborn who are their counterparts with Vindicator Miniguns and Pancor Jackhammers but who also had computer enhanced power armor with a shoulder mounted plasma rifle that could fire and reload out of the suit's power supply endlessly and very fast. Now they were like hood ornaments ever since the electrical storm fried their armor's main weapon. There are about a score of Firstborn athough it is hard to tell since many of them have since donned regular Enclave Power Armor which functions better than their damaged Firstborn Power Armor. This is a constant joke among the Hellfire Knights who have caused hard feelings in the proud Firstborn. In addition to the two devisions of the Patriots aforementioned there are also a handful of 'noob' Enclave who wear power armor. These redshirts get blown away by Bighorn attacks and the occasional Bandit Sniper on a regular basis and there is always an eager volunteer to fill in the damaged suit.

The Patriots:

Lieutenant Mort "A decisive and cunning leader"
Sergeant Skade, Jessica "Cold, predatory and intuitive second-in-command who leads her warriors into battle"
Mr. Rose, Lucifer "Retired infamous Colonel whose son, Charles was last seen in this region"
Corporal Fenris, Haggart (Hellfire squad leader) "A cruel and comically sadistic Hellfire Knight"
Corporal Nightingale, Jacob (Firstborn squad leader) "Educated, medically trained (to make him a better killer) and tactical (or rather surgical) frontline warrior."
There are also about twelve Hellfire Knights and twenty or so Firstborn and like five Regulars as well as a Mr. Undertaker (which is a gravedigging robot that looks remarkably like a Mr. Handy)

The Enclave Patriots have been marching and collecting recruits and supplies for their dwindling numbers and remaining prisoners. They can't seem the find a working radio anywhere (and even if they could would their support officers be able to cobble something together that would get them retrieved?). But something sinister waits for them outside the broiling Mojave Desert. They have just learned that the freak electrical storm that knockend their mighty Vertibirds from the heavens and destroyed much of their high tech equipment was actually a man made weapon. Who had dared such an attack on the valiant Enclave Patriots? They still had their command and weapons and whoever it was was gonna pay. Time to get these recruits in shape...

Name: Cain Butler
six: Male
Age: 28
Description: rugged looking bearded farmer.
Occupation/Skills: Farming, Small Guns, Outdoorsman, Throw
Grade: Non Volunteer
Equipment: Boots, Trousers, Straw hat, Moonshine, Double Barrel Shotgun, Handgrenade, Knife, Hatchet

Background Story: Cain Butler was a young farmer still working on his families farm near a town in the Mojave called Monticello. When the Enclave showed up they imiediately executed the town appointed sheriff who refused to round up the young men. They announced they were taking applications and supplies. When nobody offered them any goods they looted the stores and merchants and nearby farms and killed anyone who objected. Then when it came time for their applicants there were no volunteers so several young men were offered the job and the one who said 'no thanks' was shot and then they torched his family's farm. The others, including Cain Butler said goodbye to their families and brought along weapons. One guy even brought along his dog.
Cain Butler doesn't talk much and doesn't socialize much with those who willingly fight for the Enclave. He just bides his time hoping for a chance to desert their ranks.

Name: Hans Oleander
six: Male
Age: 28
Description: Thin, redheaded, small goatee and mustache
Occupation/Skills: Small Guns, Science, Repair
Grade: Volunteer
Equipment: Basic Enclave Outfit (Grey Trousers, Grey long sleeve, Gray hat) with Enclave Combat Armor
Viewpoint: Machiavellian - that is The Ends Justify The Means

Background Story:

Lived in one of the small towns the Enclave pillaged, hoping to cobble together a radio of some type to contact reinforcements. Hans thorough understanding of the mechanical workings of small guns and energy weapons combined with his general disdain for wastelanders saved his life when the Enclave came through.

One of the newer volunteers under Sergeant Skade was executing resistance fighters when his laser pistol jammed. As Hans realized that the young man was not going to be able to fix the weapon himself he carefully, lest he be shot, stepped forward and volunteered his aide in fixing the weapon. Taking it apart he scraqed off several transmitters inside and a bit of zinc buildup around the MicroFusion pack. It worked perfectly thereafter.

His work did not go unseen. In appreciation of his help and in recognition of his skill one of the commanding officers killed the volunteer and handed Hans the weapon. The execution of his fellow townsmen secured his place within the Enclave when they got back home, or so he was told.

Name: Samantha Triton
six: Female
Age: 23
Description: Slim. A little athletic in build. Shortish spiked haircut.
Occupation/Skills: Small Guns, Melee Weapons, Hand to Hand, Lockpick
Grade: Volunteer
Equipment: Basic Enclave Uniform and supplied ragged body armour.
Weapons: 10mm SMG. Combat Knife.
Supplies:

Background Story:

Samantha and her brother had lived in the wasteland together as scavengers, collecting various items to sell on to others. To Samantha, this seemed to be going well for them. They were alive with no qualms, no enemies (other than the occasional raiders).

On one of his scouting runs, her brother had come across a camp full of high technology equipment. That night Samantha and her brother went down to the camp to scavenge. Whilst scavenging in what was thought to be the abandoned camp, Samantha examined one of the crates which was marked with the Enclave symbol. At the time she didn't know what is was. She shrugged it off and opened the crate. The contents of the crate included power armour and various laser weapons. As she was marvelling at the sight before her, a huge armoured fist clasped around her wrist, pulling her off her feet. An Enclave patrol.

Her brother kept his calm, bluffing his way out of the situation by claiming he only visited the camp to inform the occupants of a trader a couple of miles away who did dealings with ghouls. Samantha kept her mouth shut. Her brother and herself had visited the trader a couple of nights ago. The visit was pleasant with drinking and tales of the wasteland. Now her brother was selling him out, just like that. A few enclave soldiers headed off and it was a couple of hours before they returned, the trader's stock and brahmin in their possession. The leader of the group rewarded Samantha's brother with an Enclave uniform and raised his pistol to Sam's head. With some bluffing and charm, her brother managed to secure Sam a place in the Enclave party.

Enclave Rating: Dislike the Enclave - After joining she found out the true nature of the Enclave's goals.

Mr Smileysmile your character checks out. Please note that your 'Enclave Combat Armor' is just combat armor with an Enclave logo. Although this was never seen by me in any games I will allow it since it seems likely they would incorporate such a thing into their 'scavenged arsenal'. Of course with SGT Skade's attention you will be in line for the real armor once onna the other boys bites the dust...

Cutie-Bi you may make a second character sheet for your brother and use him as a follower. Also after I carefully read your Bio I have ruled that you are not actually a Volunteer as much as a Non-Volunteer although you do not have to change it since you are likely thought of by the Enclave as a volunteer and treated as such. But I would prefer if you add your brother character that you make the distinction since he seems like he is cool with the Enclave more than you are.

NPCS or Example Characters:

Name: Mercy Davinci
six: Nuetered Male
Age: 30-ish
Description: Sickly scavenger with terrible halitosis.
Occupation/Skills: Spot Hidden, Outdoorsman, Traps
Grade: Non Volunteer (chained minesweeper)
Equipment: (items subject to confiscation by Commanding Officer. In some cases disciplinary "example making" will be administered)
Weapons: Unspent landmine, fifteen disarmed mines
Supplies: bottle of water, extra sandals(?)
Clothing/Armor: ragged flea infested tunic

Background Story:
Mercy Davinci was captured recently by the Enclave after he wandered into their camp looking for food or water through a field of booby traps and tripwires and mines they had set up that direction as they camped. Skade held a gun on him deciding perhaps not to blow the filthy creature away with her pancor jackhammer but instead ordered him to return the way he had come and she would give him a bottel of water. This became quite a spectacle. The results are obvious.

Enclave Rating: "admires" = respects the Enclave

Name: Gey Wight
six: male
Age: 18
Description: slight of build, sort of gangly and with lots of zits
Occupation/Skills: Small Guns, Traps, Steal

Background Story: Gey Wight is following the Enlcalve to photgraph them. His background is mysterious. Not even he is sure all that he has done in the last 123 hours since he started doing stuff. Alot of quests. How he ended up here working for the Enclave is that he is practicing amatuer journalism and needs pictures for his article about the "Enclave who crashed and had to walk home" by Gey White.

Character Sheet:

Name:Nelson Figgs
six:Male
Age:41

Description: A wirey, grizzled/grumpy man with a small brown beard growing due to lack of shaving with gray hairs protruding at the ends. Not a looker. Also on his right hand, his ring and pinky fingers are missing from a work related accident involving a metal press. He also has a bandage over his recently broken nose.
Occupation/Skills: Repair/ Science/ Unarmed(even though he dislikes using computers)/Has no survival or major combat skills due to his upbringing in the vault. He is decent in a fist fight from being apart of a few vault bar brawls.
Grade:Vaulty Niner Prisonor
Equipment: He has barely anything to his person cept scum in his pockets/He is allowed only by the enclave to use tools when repairing their weathered equipment.
Weapons: none/Arc Welder and Mask is routinely given to him by the commander to fix the various equipment.
Supplies: none, only given meager food and water to keep him alive.
Clothing/Armor: A flame resistant Vaulty Niner Jumpsuit.(only survive for a few minutes under intense heat)

Background Story: He was a Vaulty niner civilian in the vault. Spent most of his time on the 4th level with coworkers and buddies helping with the days work and chatting. His wife died 3 years ago due to an anorism, he has been in a depressive state since then. He had learned minor waste disposal from coworkers and picked up a thing or to on how to dispose of fecal matter, and in rare cases radiation.

When the enclave had forced through the vault he and other anti-enclave tried to flee. He was eventually caught and remembered the horrors of what the enclave had done to the 'resistance' and even the supporters. He even had nightmares of an enclave engineer locking down some of the civilian housing and shutting off the air filtration, leading all stuck inside to suffocate(He still feels the dream was to real....). Remembering how, for no reason, many of his fellow vault dwellers being shot indiscriminately with no remorse, and in some cases he saw glimpses of humor in the enclave's eyes.

Seeing people he grew up and worked with killed liked that left him with utter hatred for these metal clad monsters. He would give anything to cause them pain. In one encounter when one of the commanding officers told him to check the condition of the grave-digging Mr. Handy, he spit into the officer's eye. This gesture was then replied with a savage beating leading to three teeth knocked out, sprained left arm, and a fractured nose. Aware of his hatred he is not allowed anything on his person, and only allowed tools when repairing equipment, and must be supervised by one personel to see that he does not try anything with said equipment. The only reaason he is alive is for his skill and experience in machines and their programming. Even if he wasn't in a broken and famished state he is not the most uplifting person.

Enclave Rating: Hatred

I hope this checks out, forget what I said on the PM about not RPing on this one.

My first time RPing, hope I don't svck. Sorry if theres anything different about the Vaulty Niner lore, I tried to stay broad on it.

EDIT: I hope the nightmare will be an alright change.

You will do just fine. I decide what is Vaulty Niner Lore and for the sake of continuity I will say you were 100% accurate in your intrepretation of it simply because any inconsitancies must be ignored since they are your characters subjective experiences and even if the air supply was not shut down that doesn't mean that the trauma your character suffered mentally did not irrevocably convince him that he actually saw people suffocating. That said your bio totally rules, you have put a lot of thought and effort into this character and I am happy to have you on board. Welcome to the Enclave...

hmmm...I am considering this (and shaking my head). Maybe if you were from a different vault it would work...

I just can't alter the Vaulty Niner story this much. I really never got opened. Ever.

Use a different vault and we will be cool beans. You can even say that it had a similar floor plan to vaulty niner manking you indispensible to the Enclave who did not have actual plans of Vaulty Niner due mostly to the fact that it had never been open which was the primary strategy for survival in Escape From Vault Nine.

EDIT: either that or he just thinks or says this is his story but it isn't true.

Thx, hope I can continue to come up with ideas. Besides hes been through alot of trauma for the past weeks-days
(how long ago was it since they took over Vaulty niner?). And through a mixture of trauma, depression, and low nourishment-its understandable hes suffering from hallucinations.

hmmm...i find it best to put vivid nightmares and such in italics...

it has been weeks for the crashed Enclave Patriots. The initial marching seemed to be a series of raids in the local area where patrols would round up workers and supplies. You survived being in one of the crashed vertibirds.

only some of the vaulty niner prisoners were taken on this flight the others were left corraled at vaulty niner.

I have considered that "when" your character joined the Enclave factors into when this takes place. Weeks have gone by since the crash is the original plan. The original plan also calls for about a dozen recruits for Enclave Bootcamp. But I don't want to make those who have signed up wait. Maybe others will be allowed to join in game like in some other RPs. What to you all think about that? Yay? Nay?

Through his journey, Volk had encountered Enclave patrols numerous times, the mechanical hum of their armour and the complexity of their weaponry coupled by their uncaring and heavy handed approach to those walking the wastelands had created a certain dislike of their ways by by Volk. Apart from the Enclave, Volk had come across citizens of Vault 10 early on in his journey, saving a small group set out to scavenge from a raider ambush. For helping the group, Volk was invited back to Vault 10, using the time to teach the scavenger parties how to better read the land as well as providing them with some modified tools with which to scavenge with. Volk eventually decided to settle, and with the blessing of the Vaults overseer, took up the role of chief scavenger as well as being in charge of outer-Vault security. Security had been a pressing issue since one Vault Ten resident had left the year before, and agressive reconnaissance of the area surrounding the vault became one of Volks responsibilities, and it was during one of these reconnoitering "missions" that the Enclave picked Volk up.

The Enclave took Volks weapons and stored them within one of the Vertibirds, if Volk intends on leaving, he'll have to get his kit first.
Enclave Rating: Dislikes the Enclave

(Changed his name from James to Alec because there seems to be quite a few James across the RP threads)

Background Story: Volk grew up in a small fort which was used prior to the Great War by the British Army in Alberta, Canada. The small community that called the fort home were the extent of Volks family, his mother had died during Volks early years and his father had committed suicide shortly after. Because of this, the men of the community taught Volk all he had to know about surviving in the wilderness, and upon his 21st birthday, he left the security of the fort for the US, and a reason to live. Volk eventually decided to settle, and with the blessing of the Vaults overseer, took up the role of chief scavenger as well as being in charge of outer-Vault security, that is, until the Enclave arrived.

Enclave Rating: Dislikes the Enclave

hey cool character. Give him a sniper rifle ro some other small guns (i am pretty open minded on that regard). But unfortunately for your story to be true you cannot be from vaulty niner as it never once opened before the Enclave burrowed in. Go ahead and leave him the way he is except everywhere it says '9' put in some other number. I would suggest '10' since someone has already established a relationship there with the story and it works. Welcome aboard and feel free to begin posting on the Enclave Bootcamp Rp Thread whenever you are ready!

Name: Theo Farmer
six: Male
Age: 19

Description: Theo has a fairly young, handsome face, though it has been weathered considerably from the harsh storms in the Midwest. He once had unruly long blond hair, but it was sheared off by the Enclave after his “recruitment”. He has hard gray blue eyes that give away nothing as to what he’s thinking. He is sufficiently muscled as someone who has worked their whole life, visibly so but not pronounced. He is 6’0 in and 200 lbs, although he was a way of minimizing his size when needed. He has tribal tattoos on his chest and on each bicep, as well as some on his neck.

Having grown up around warriors and laborers, Theo has a rough persona. He is the biggest [censored] you would ever meet, but most of the time he doesn’t mean anything by it, that’s simply how he is around other people. Theo is loud and overzealous at everything he does, and he never shuts up. He doesn’t care what he’s saying to anyone, and he tends to say exactly what he thinks.

Occupation/Skills: Tribal Warrior/ Small Guns, Melee Weapons, Unarmed, Outdoorsman

Grade: Non-volunteer

Equipment: Enclave Uniform, Ragged Armor, Hunting Rifle, Combat Knife, and Theo always has a switchblade hidden somewhere on his person.

Background Story: Theo Farmer was born in raised in the Midwest U.S. His family and their entire village were tribals, living off on their own in a warrior society, using skills they taught themselves to provide for their families and the rest of the village. The boys started off farming and helping the women, but once they reach age 13, they are taught how to fight and hunt and everything they would need. Once they reach age 16, they go out with the warriors.

Theo has been fighting for most of his life. One day, Theo was off hunting on his own when he saw lights flashing in the distance. When he went to check it out, he found Enclave troops planning to fly back to the Mojave. Theo was planning to just get back to his village and warn them, but an Enclave soldier on patrol spotted him. Theo managed to disarm and kill the soldier, but he cried out and Farmer was taken captive. They beat him savagely before throwing him into a vertibird and taking off. Theo was unconscious for most of the ride, and he didn’t come to until the bird ended up crashing. He quickly made himself known to be belligerent to all orders they gave him, and he’s received beatings from his commanding officers. Theo doesn’t care what they do to him, but he is dead set on getting back to his home or getting killed trying.
