Enclave vs BoS In Combat

Post » Sat Sep 26, 2009 2:20 am

Nice pics, foftw. Sometimes you have to throw artistic expression out the window and catch what you can. They're better than I would've managed.

It's a bit hard taking pics when everything is blurry from the DOF and taking hits.

The Enclave kills better. They have more practice.

That means that the Enclave could easily take out the Brotherhood, meaning they are better, military wise, so don't start a discussion on how the Enclave is "OH MEH GAHD SO EV4L!!!TEHDEMONZ".

I won't and I most certainly don't see everything in a stereotypical evil or good shade.

It's quite funny how people in enclave vs bos threads say 'the bos have liberty prime' when, uh, the enclave destroyed that ol bucket of bolts.

Also the bos don't have the lone wanderer, considering we are the lone wanderer and when your here arguing about stuff, the lone wanderer doesn't actually exist.

Here's the GECK stats for the vanilla game basic Big Gun troops and their basic armour for the Enclave and the BoS respectively:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatBoSBigGuns.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatEnclaveBigGuns.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatBoSArmour.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatEnclaveArmour.jpg

As you can see, from a purely game mechanics standpoint, the Enclave is better. They are slightly higher leveled than their BoS counterparts (17 vs 11), they have slightly better stats for their armour (Base AR 49, base health 1275 vs Base AR 48, base health 1075), higher number on the relevant skills (Big Guns, 100 vs 74) and a higher base health (65 vs 50, calculated health 170 vs 125).

Ergo, from a purely game mechanics standpoint the Enclave beats the BoS. The Lore supports this as well (or rather, the other way around).

This was just taken from the Big Gun troops, but a quick check reveals the same thing across the board - the Enclave is slightly better.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity I checked the stats in FOOK2 as well. ;)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatBoSBGFOOK2.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatEnclaveBGFOOK2.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/suntiger745/StatEnclaveArmourFOOK2.jpg

The Enclave is better here as well.
The stats for the NPC's is actually a lot closer. Both have 100 in Big Guns, equal health and points in special (only INT and CHA are switched). The Eclave is lvl 21, the BoS 20.
However, their equipment is where the Enclave's edge comes to play.
The Enclave armour has a total AR of 85 and a total health of 1750, while the BoS comes in at a total AR of 73 and with a total health of 1500.

Ergo, the edge is more noticeably in the Enclave's tech, not their soldiers. Which actually fits the lore better. :)

It's also funny when the BoS destroyed the Enclave. Also, the Lone Wanderer is canonly the destroyer of the Enclave and is a BoS member.

Funny, the BoS always boast about beating the Enclave, they must have been lying.

I find that quite hilarious.

"Oh woopsie, they stole one of our vertibirds. Hmm, should've installed some kind of immobilizers in all the vertibird's computer systems". "Yes sir, we probably shouldn't have set our own base as a target in our weapon systems too. Then we could have avoided this embarrassment."

If you're a PC player with FOOK2. I don't know about vanilla. Still, the Enclave would probably win.

To be fair, FOOK2 does make the Enclave a lot stronger than they were in vanilla. I'm not sure if it makes the BOS soldiers any stronger.

However, I do agree that the Enclave would probably still win.

Even with five extra men, the Brotherhood still lost...

Plasma weapons versus lasers? Really? Is that fair? either give them both Plasma weapons or laser weapons. That right there will decide the outcome.

'Clave will still win, better armour and slightly (but still noticeable) higher stats.

Did I say five extra men :P ? Either both plasma or both lasers... Also put both in the same armor. Make every thing the same, equipment wise.

It'll take too much time, and I'm too lazy.

Also, I did one battle where the Brotherhood had five extra men. Still lost.

Alright, wait for me to vomit out the last amount of BoS sympathy.

maybe...10 extra men? or, just for laughs, see how many extra men the BoS need to actually win?

Okay, 10 extra men for the Brotherhood. Should they fight on flat land, or should one have a height advantage, like on top a cliff?

BoS have lost, Enclave have better stuff, better stats, etc. Giving them both the same weapons and armor is cheap, because obviously, Enclave uses better stuff.

It is possible, but will take me some time. I'd have to get the codes for their armor, remove it, get the codes for their weapons, remove them, and then get the codes for the new weapons and armor, and them. It's possible, but I'm too lazy to do it. Plus, it wouldn't be right because the Enclave have the advantage of better tech. Tell you what, what I could do is give the BOS some extra numbers, to make up for their lousy tech.

Haha. First of all, you cannot do damage to Prime, so that's cheating right there. Secondly,
Spoiler
the Enclave blew him to hell, in Broken Steel.
Oh meh gad, teh canon str1kez.

I can use the GECK and set up any battle anyone wants in five minutes, with any weapons, any armor, any number of troops and no mods affecting the outcome.

Who wants to know what happens when they battle naked, both sides with lazer rifles? :P

I'd set up the Leveled Character list "VarBrotherhoodOfSteel1Gun" against "VarEnclave0Gun" since they are the same level. This is just a suggestion however, I don't mind if you disagree :).

I've got to make a phone call, and then I'll let you know who wins. No pictures on my broad-length, sadly.

I suggest you get the GECK, FALLOUTFTW. It's easily a hundred times more fun modding than playing.
