Enclave Faction

Yeah I don't like the helmet at all, personally. I know there's a lot of FO2 fans who love it, but I hate the aesthetics of it, in both FO2 and NV.

I'd rather have the Enclave FO3 armor at least be in the game alongside the FO2 armor, as I find it aesthetically superior. But, if it can't be, I'd like the FO2 APA to be as intimidating and large in NV as it was in FO2; the body of the armor itself just looks decidedly uninteresting at the moment. Plus, the massive hunchback directly behind the helmet is utterly nonsensical, it looks specifically designed to catch bullets and ricochet them directly into the back of the wearer's cranium. <_<

you cant really see the suit much there. but the helmet looks better. still weird though, like a bug

Yeah, very insect or alien esq, that's why I love it. Also it is very intimidating and powerful (well it was in FO2). But overall I just love the aesthetics of it, very primordial.

I think that even as it is in New Vegas it still looks better than the stuff in FO3, but that's just my personal opinion. I agree with what you're saying about the body though, it definitely needed to be a lot chunkier.

It could just be the angle it has in that picture though.. If you look at the picture of the Tesla armour in New Vegas it looks a bit bigger. I'm assumung it's the same armour here though, just with added christmas tree lights.

It grows on you. Seriously, I wasn't a big fan of it when I first played Fallout 2 either, and now it's one of my favorite armors in the series. I think the important thing to remember is that the helmet was designed to look like a high tech metal gas mask, no more no less.

I'm hoping that they lowered the back quite a bit in the final product since it's way too big; it wasn't that big in Fallout 2.

I can't find the image right now, but I remember seeing a screenshot from FO2 I think it was. It showed an Enclave base as a bright dot on a map of North America. There was also many other bright dots, which could possibly mean that there are other bases. They could be split up in various cells and all act independtly.

I just love the old armour. I didn't like the new Enclave armour that much, and I also dislike the new BoS armour. I wish the old BoS armour'd be back along with the old Enclave armour, but since the T-51b (old BoS armour) was already in FO3...

EDIT: I just realized, it said T-51b was in New Vegas! I hope it's right.

From memory, I think the Fallout 2 Tesla armour was basically Metal Armour with the Tesla coils added for improved protection vs Energy Weapons.

I hope we get to talk to some Enclave remnants in NV. They could, perhaps, tell of their history, maybe. (Arcade isn't enough. He's only a scientist)

I will admit that it will feel a little odd not to see the Enclave but there might be some remaints roaming about or they will be included through a user made mod later on.

Ah right.. So it probably has lower DT than the Advanced Power Armour?

I've never played Fallout 1 or 2 so I don't know what it looked like in comparision to the power armour, but it looks pretty similar in New Vegas. That's why I assumed it was also power armour. I thought it could just be a straight upgrade of the Advanced Power Armour like it was in Fallout 3. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Advanced_Tesla_armor a picture of it.

But yeah if it has less DT then I'll be sticking with the Advanced Power Armour.

The Advanced Power Armor looks "scrawny" in 3D because our previous perception of it was top down, with the shoulders holding a prominent focus in the frame. Really, the armor isn't any less bulky then it was already, but there are significant differences between a 2D Rendered Image (And note all Cinematics never show the armor below the shoulders in anything other then murky background shapes) and a full 3D model. Ultimately compromises had to be made, because the way the Enclave Armor looked in Fallout 2 really wasn't going to translate into 3D unless we were prepared to accept some massive clipping issues. (Speaking of Clipping, that picture of the NV Enclave armor is also featuring some clippage in the shoulder regions)

As for the Enclave showing up in New Vegas...I've detonated a Nuclear Warhead on their main base. I've activated the Self-Destruct in their secondary complex. I've called down an Orbital Strike on their third base of operations. I've killed two Presidents. What does it take to make them stay down?

Is anyone else upset that the Enclave will not be making an appearance in Fallout: New Vegas? Obviously if they were to be in the game, they would play a small role since Fallout 3 was based around them. But I still think they should play a small role like the Brotherhood of Steel.
Not at all.

no, 2d is not my thing, turn based is not my thing, and top view is not my thing. but even if i did it wouldnt matter, i would still think it was ugly.
That was the entire series and spin-offs prior to Bethesda's tangential FO3.

I for one am upset that Killian Darkwater won't be appearing... Never mind that his place in the story really wouldnt make any sense as he'd be something like 150 now....

The Enclave ARE in the game, they're just not a major faction.

Ehm... Well... Maybe they have 4 bases? Anyway, they don't nececcarily even have to be a big political influence in Mojave. They could just have a tiny camp, with not enough members to do very much. Like, maybe 12-20 people?

I love how they brought back the old helmet. <3

If I still had any doubts about how Obsidian did with the game, that made them vanish entirely.

As many others have already mentioned that given that events of Fall Out 2 there is not about to be a major presense in new vegas. And I don't know about my enclaver brethren but personally I'm not really upset that the Enclave plays a small part in the game given that both Obsidian and Bethesda has made the Enclave into mustrache twirling villains as the antagonists and little more then that. Besides both the Brotherhood and the Enclave has received enough attention as it is with two games and its time for new factions, new groups to take the reins and come up with something new. Preferably something less black and white morality related.
