Enclave Rising Interest CheckSign Up

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 1:12 am

I had a idea. What if Commander Sutler made a appearance and gave us orders, since he was part of the DIA. We should ask "The Enclave" first though. And dont forget about the MEC Gauss Miniguns and Yuma Flats Pulse Guns. The Enclave used it back in the west and would surely use it in the East.

I'll approach him about helping. I'll allow the gauss weapons but I feel if we had the pulse weapons, the Bos wouldn't have much of a chance.

I think we should also have dialogue interaction but not when we are fighting. When you announce a mission, we go to mission but when you dont, we can interact at the base to create character progression.

Yes, we'll have dialogue and character interaction throughout. Raven Rock though will be where our characters will interact the most.

What about Adams Air Force Base? Will we also go there.

That character is much too overpowered, the weapons we'll use must be canonically ( 12.7mm is allowed but reduce the OP ) correct. Only modifications will be added onto some. The armor's stealth field is an issue too. I know I said it would be custom, but nothing that serious.

Yes we will but that will be a little later.

I'll get on with writing a CS, I'd like to be a sniper though :D

Great, that's something we need so feel free.

Looks good, just expand on the backstory. The Enclave doesn't really have a military police, so he could just be a normal trooper.

snip

Great so far.

Excellent, I really like it. Accepted and the/a medic is filled.

This actually looks pretty Interesting, Ranger. Unfortunately, my past experiences with squad-based RPs haven't been great.

Now, I'm not saying you can't make it work, but it can't just be the same missions over and over again, just with different locations. Sabotage, subterfuge, exploration, the works. And you need character development along the way, which includes dialogue during battles. It can't just be a wall of text about how you "killzd tenz guyz wit teh grenaed luncher!". Hell, just to give the starting players a bonding experience, you might even consider starting the players out in some sort of training program to get into Stigma Squad, and if they can't learn how to trust each other, then they won't pass the course.

But don't mind me, I was just putting my two-cents in. I'll gladly submit a CS with high hopes for the RP.

(Here's mine  )

Name: Andrew Matthews

Rank: Lieutenant

Age: 32

six: Male

Race: Caucasian

Skills: Is proficient with a plasma rifle, plasma pistol, and has an expert understand of robotics associated with the Enclave.
(Tag skills I assume would be energy weapons, repair, and science)

Class: Robotic Engineer/Infantryman

Physical Appearance: Rather unassuming in physical appearance, Matthews has short dark brown hair in the “clean cut style,” matching brown eyecolor, a clean shaven face, and an average build.

Personality: Matthews is usually friendly and always ready to talk with a fellow officer or soldier. He is fiercely loyal to the Enclave and its leadership, but does tend to ask questions if he feels a mistake has been made or is going to be made. This does not mean however, that he is willing to disobey an order; instead he is a stickler for protocol and follows it too the letter.

In battle, Matthews is cold and calculating, but has been known to show mercy to enemies who he feels “deserve” it and if it does not conflict with prior established directives. Otherwise, he will execute even injured hostiles without question if the situation calls for it.

Like most in the Enclave, Matthews has a distrust for wastelanders, but he has voiced his opinion that he believes there still may be some good to come from the wasteland if it can be utilized correctly.

Weapons: Standard plasma rifle (primary), plasma pistol (secondary, used as a personal side-arm), slightly modified ripper (carried as a last-resort secondary weapon). As Matthews is a robotics engineer, he can perform actions such as hacking into enemy turrets and repairing/hacking/utilizing robotic personnel for his own advantage.

Armor: Enclave Tesla Advanced Power Armor Mk II. He usually wears an Enclave officer uniform when not in combat.

Backstory:

Matthews was born shortly after the fall of the Oil Rig and following the evacuation to Raven Rock. As a result, his entire life has been defined by the East Coast and former President John Henry Eden. He has only rarely stepped foot from Raven Rock, which has been his home for his entire life.

As he grew older, Matthews was eventually enlisted into the Enclave Tesla Regiments and later, the Enclave Robotic Engineering Core. The Robotic Engineering Core is responsible for much of the development and production of Enclave robotic equipment including, but not limited to, production systems in Raven Rock for vertibirds/weapons/armor , overseeing robot assembly, robot design, and turret construction and maintenance. He has thus served a dual role in both for much of his life, serving as an officer in the Tesla regiments as well as a ranking officer of the core. Eventually his remarkable talents in both these roles led him to be inducted into elite Enclave Special Operations Force: Sigma Squad. With which he has served with distinction.

When Eden was “alive” Matthews hung on his every word and was enthralled by the President’s leadership and charisma. When the President tragically died, Matthews was saddened greatly. He also at this time grew suspicious of the former Colonel Augustus Autumn who claimed that Eden had given him authority upon his death. Matthews is racked by feelings of mistrust of Autumn, who at one time he looked up to (and still does in many respects), and who he fears may have usurped power illegitimately from President Eden. This however, clashes with his mantra of “loyalty and obedience” first.

As a result of this emotional distress, he has become greatly troubled in recent months, but shows no outward signs of it. Should he discover Autumn’s usurpation though, or should it be made public, one would be hard-pressed to find a more infuriated individual.

Like Autumn, Matthews shares southern heritage in his family line, and he speaks with a slight accent reminiscent of Autumn (but not to the same degree).

Seems like our characters might clash maybe. Jennifer supports Autumn and was glad Eden died while you supported Eden greatly but has mistrust over Autumn that he usurped power. Anyway good CS Sheet.

So everyone knows this is the cast so far:

1. TheLoneRanger - Squad Leader ( Me )

2. f8lcobra - Sniper ( She's our co-gm )

3. bosmight342 - Jennifer Tercorien - Medic

4. Lt. Andronicus - Andrew Matthews - Infantry/Engineer

Yes, this is the situation. We're the new, we know little of one another. Only the squad leader knows anything extensive on his squad.

I think, not sure of Ranger's exact plans but, that our group meets at Raven Rock for intros. Then, since more than likely none of our characters have fought together before, they will have to struggle through some issues learning each others tactics. Hence a comm-link in the gear for communication ;)

Dialogue, I feel, is always very important, especially during combat. If my "sniper" is watching an area, be it an exit or whatever, and her orders are to shoot on sight. I think any of the squad members would want to inform her of their position, or at the very least broadcast over the secured comm-links. Just throwing some ideas out there.

On the "backstory" deals here. More often than not, if a CS is accepted without one, or a very small one, it seems as though they never really get finished. So if possible, please make sure you have something before Ranger hosts the RP thread. It just shows that you are more serious about the RP and not just looking for a run-n-gun post a few times and disappear :)

You're right on the introduction part. We'll all meet at Raven Rock, introduce each other, and start getting acquainted. Once the introductions are over I have an exercise planned that will allow the squad leader and fellow teammates learn how their comrades fight. This will be the time to scope other characters out. You'll have to work together and get your bearings as a team.

This is an excellent point and Cobra made a good point with the comm-links. They will be used for communication, so our team is more cohesive. Orders will sometimes be issued though them.

Another good point. I will not accept sheets with no backstory, and ones with small stories will have a hard time being accepted as well. Longer, or even short stories with solid thought put into them shows some commitment.

Ok i am going to put all my suggestions down, I have alot.

1. During the 1st mission as a warm up, a squad leader shall be picked base on overall combat performance and leadership. The people watching are the former Sigma Squad back then.
2. Maybe during the last final mission of Sigma, they fight against the Lone Wandrer and all his companions with the BOS. They will have excellent gear and will not be pushovers.
3. Since Autumn usurped power, there should be a event where evidence is leaked that Autumn deactivated Eden and proclaimed himself President. There would be a internal civil war between the civillians, and military.
4. Maybe they travel to Point Lookout and the Pitt? Just a thought I had.
5. New Monsters like Gehennas and Moloch(They from Van Buren)
6. Instead of fighting against the BOS all the time, we can fight Talon Company, Raiders, Reillys Rangers, etc.

These are all my suggestions. I merely getting it out of the way.

1. My character is the squad leader, he was handpicked by the highest echelons of the Enclave's military. We'll meet and I'll set up a trial run.
2. The Lone Wander doesn't have a place in the roleplay at all. He effectively, doesn't exist.
3. This is a possibility.
4. These are as well, the Pitt is much more likely. But first the Enclave must cement their power over the CW.
5. We'll be sticking to canon on this one. No Van Buren creatures.
6. I've already planned for fighting other enemies. Raiders, Talon Company, and Super Mutants are on the menu.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look over any anyone has. I'm glad you're thinking about this.

A battle between Lyon's Pride and Sigma Squad? That sounds like a blast.

EDIT: Here's an updated roster:

1. TheLoneRanger - Squad Leader ( Me )

2. f8lcobra - Sniper ( She's our co-gm )

3. bosmight342 - Jennifer Tercorien - Medic

4. Lt. Andronicus - Andrew Matthews - Infantry/Engineer

5. Uriel Septim VII - ( Reserved Spot )

We could use one more. Uriel isn't in for sure, but a spot is reserved for him. He'll be posting his CS later.

I'm certainly interested.

I was considering taking the role of an older, less physically fit member of the Enclave who is of quite a high rank. Would that be okay? Perhaps a representative from the old squad, or what have you. That is if, of course, I get a spot.
