End Game spoliers! Institution and Minutemen end help

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:22 pm

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but since it contained some spoilers, i wasn't sure where else to put it.

So, I've gone through and decided to side with the Institution, which in turn had me kill the leaders of the railroad, and destroy the brotherhoods giant ship, effectively destroying those two quest lines. I ended up completing the quests "institutionalized", and "nuclear family", which made me watch my son die of old age, and i assume the role as Director of the Institution. So was that it? Did i beat the main story? I'm asking this because i never got a roll credits, or a type of epilogue, i guess. I wasn't given another main story quest after that, just side quests.

The Minutemen are still alive and thriving, and i know i can go through them to get to the end of the main story, but i cant seem to get any main missions out of Preston Garvey. The last 'main' mission i completed for the Minutemen was "Inside Job". I believe the next is called "Form Ranks". I read somewhere that i need to have at least 8 settlements established (which i do), and that i need to not be allied with the Institution (no longer be in good standing). Now, i tried going into the Institution and killing everyone, escaping, and hoping something new would pop up saying i wasn't allied with them, and could get that quest out of Garvey. Nothing new happened, so i reloaded an old save point, and now I'm not sure what to do to try and move forward with the main quest line. Any thoughts?

Seems you have completed the game yeah, They have explicitly stated they are NOT going to do the credit sequence again, after there was such a hullabaloo about not being able to play after the credits in fallout 3. There are no more minutemen quests, the "Form ranks" one disappears since you decided on another faction as your main one

Thanks for the reply. I guess i expected a more... directed ending. you know, "you did the ending this way, so here's an epilogue explaining the repercussions of your actions, and what you should/shouldn't expect next!" They kinda just made Director, and that was it. It's wide open for anything to happen now, i guess.

When you visit Shaun the last time after dealing with the BOS a video should have played with your character talking about his journey and the past and present. After that is when the achievement popped for me for completing the main story. Just beat the Instituion ending. I liked the story just feel it could have been more compelling or made you care a little bit more about it. Luckily I saved right before I betrayed BOS and Railroad so I'll be going back to see the other endings.

I'm at the point too. be nice if the game gave you a warning before choosing a faction.

But fine. So there is no way for me to sdie with the MM (for example) and save both the MM and the RR?

you can, just dont side with the institution and leave.

(you can also betray them later, theres several points where this can happen)

Incidentaly

Minute men-can Destroy BOS and Institute (Just get BOS mad at you)

RR Destroy Institute and BOS

Institute, Destroy BOS and RR

Boss Destroy RR and

you can destroy RR then use MM to destroy Institute and BOS but doing so is a bit of a pain in the ass.

I almost suspect that the MM was set up the way it was so that they can be a plan Z for when the player REALY mucks things up
