Damn I missed the end of the world again. I even have set a timer to remind me. Damn the timer died just before the end of the world. It died two minutes before midnight .

Some people believe that we are already living in a post-apocalyptic world. 75,000 years ago the volcano Toba erupted.
It is thought to have reduced the human population from around 30,000,000 pairs to around a 100,000 pairs, and that this
is responsible for the surprisingly small variation's in human DNA for a population of 2 billion plus. On the plus side it did kick-start human development.
What we may be experiencing is an halcyon moment before our demise.
OOOOO! Thanks! I do have Audacity installed, I just never looked into that
OK, I've eaten my arm for rations, now what?
*edit*
This forum closing has finally convinced me to join the badness of Reddit. Steam Forums (SPUF) is dieing, this forum is closing, Bandai Namco closed the Tales forum, and a couple others going have left me with very few places to discuss things like this anymore. Why are all the awesome communities dieing recently? Many of these have been around 10+ years with strong communities.
It's a Sign....

There's news that Beth.net forum is dumping the Jive junk they are running now and have been looking for replacment software for "months". There may be hope after all.

Hello everyone, this thread is for reporting problems with the current Jive forums. For a few reasons, we decided it was time for a new thread on this topic.
Chiefly, as noted here we are planning a full re-launch of the Bethesda.net forums with new software. For general suggestions on what you’d like to see on the Bethesda.net forums, please use that thread.

Hi everyone, we are currently working towards a full re-launch of the Bethesda.net forums with new software – an announcement we are excited to make, and one we’re sure many of you are equally thrilled to hear. We’re still in the early stages so our plans may change. Given how things have gone with these forums, we figured the early notice and increased awareness would be welcome.
We hope to have more news in the coming weeks, and are looking forward to discussing this with you. When these forums first launched, it was our announced intention to use community feedback to direct development. Unfortunately, because of unforeseen issues, there has been little to show on this front. We believe a fresh start will help get the forums back on track and ensure they help support our phenomenal community.

We started looking at alternatives a few months ago, but we haven't settled on replacement software yet. There’s some great options out there, but given how large and diverse this community is, finding the best fit has been difficult.
That's GREAT news tmar, there's hope yet. Could someone tell them over there that some of us can't even access Beth.net to post suggestions and a lot of us won't because it gives us severe eyestrain trying to navigate that visual mess. Creating a parallel suggestion thread here would be a good idea, if they truly are interested in our ideas about what we want for the new, new forum.
We had a parallel thread here and several smaller off-shoot threads (now closed), the thread over on Beth.net went for 105 pages, I think they already have all feedback they could possibly need. Let's wait and see what replacement they come up with, then we can offer additional feedback if necessary.
I can access it but effectively can't use it - that place is absolute murder on my eyes. I have an M.E. type condition which also affects my eyesight causing severe eyestrain, making reading and posting difficult at times. Even here. It's a nightmare to read and navigate over there and even worse to post because even on the dark theme it defaults to light print on a white background. I'm not the only one to have said they find beth.net very hard on their eyes.
Others have mentioned that they only have their phones to browse and post and therefore can only come here as the other place is effectively unusable for them. If this 'discussion' over the new site only takes place on Beth.net then they won't be able to know what's planned, let alone contribute.
