Best Overall Roleplayer - So basically this, which RPer has done the most that impresses you this year basically. You can vote for up to three RPers for thsi award.
Most Improved RPer - Needs no explanation.
Best Characters - For those who have created excellent characters, or any one in particular which you like.
Best RP - Which one is the easiest to get into, has the best story, best moderation etc... Overall award.
Most innovative RP - For those RP's that have tried to do something different, can still be voted best RP as well.
Best Story in an RP - For those RP's that have stories which draw you in straight away, can still be voted the above two.
Best Fiction - Being updated regularly or having an ending yet doesn't matter, for best written and most enjoyable fiction this year.
Best Fiction Character - Self explanatory, doesn't have to be the main character.

If you want to suggest a new award, or discuss the awards, please go to the other thread http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=927563. This is solely for voting.

Erm, if you want a new award, feel free to propose it here or message me, just make sure you don't overfill the thread and actually vote as well, mmkay? :)

Votes should be like this:

Best Overall Roleplayer - Aulakauss, GeraldDuval, FC4
Most Improved RPer - ?berbau
Best Characters - Illusionary Nothing
Best RP - Siege Of Sentinel
Most innovative RP - The Cave, unfortunately didn't kick off.
Best Story in an RP - Siege Of Sentinel, mostly because of how the story is so dependant on the players yet is still so great.
Best Fiction - n/a, I honestly don't read Fictions that often.

I will not accept votes that don't look something like this. You can have explanations for your votes (and you probably should, to give a greater ego boost to the person you're voting for!), but make sure you make it clear who you're voting for.

Have fun.

Best Overall Roleplayer - FC4
Best Characters - Illusionary Nothing
Best RP - Half Tooth (for "The Longest Journey")
Best Fiction - BSparrow (for "Of Fate, Luck, and Ambition")
Best Fiction Character - Wilt (for Silvie in "The Will of Sithis")

I don't really spend enough time on these forums to know many others. I'm just voting for what I think is the best out of what I've seen.

fan-Fiction of the year: The King and I by Rumpleteasza. From the very first sentence of the story, she has your attention, and keeps it throughout. Nice thick posts, as well as broadening Morrowind's world by sharing the view of multiple characters. Its a world I enjoy submitting myself to, and leaves me reminiscent of stories from my favorite author, Glen Cook.

Fan Fiction Writer of the Year: Redsrock, for pure dedication to increasing his writing skills, never taking criticism harshly, and writing a variety of different sorts

Fan fiction character of the year: Centurion Caepio's company, from Gerald Duval's Pike and Shot Rp: Just Before the Battle, Mother. Those few fanfics contain a good amount of realism on war, its brutality, and how soldiers are forgotten shortly after.

Most Improved Roleplayer: Crazyjoker. He had gone from using mindless Nords who only grew angrier, to deeper characters, with a whole slew of emotions and motives. In the end he went from having stereotypical barbarian characters, to people who can be seen as REAL, with all the advantages and disadvantages it brings to a person's life. Posts went from one paragraph, to full pages, words became much more eloquent. In the end, I can definitely say he is one of the best roleplayers I have had the chance to work with.

Best Overall roleplayer: FC4, originally I didn't like his "In your face" type posts with constant shock after constant shock, then little by little you realize that its him in the role of those that he creates. He has been easily capable of hopping into any role, such as Helseth, random guards and characters, and has plenty of noble and selfish characters who face their own conflicts and problems, each one different. Not to mention his constant ability to perform, and perform well time after time. His posts show a quality consistency.

Person from Anticlere, this kid has some serious skill in writing, and although it has been my failure to keep him active in most events, I can easily tell he is going to be a natural from the Immortal Blood Timeline. His realistic characters, his distinct and professional nature in where he does not need to ask what is this, or how do I do this, he researches it all himself. Completely unbiased to his own motives, he is an awesome person to have in Siege of Sentinel.

Best Characters: I'd say Duval does a great job at keeping his characters....character in all situations. Their not the most noble, the smartest, or the selfless... but their full of personality. However his characters have not been as active this year as recently, and since I'm sure he'll have a host of people voting for him, I want to mention Commander Chark: by Spicer the Scout. Spicer was able to make TES equivalent of General Patton, and although he has not been as active as much as everyone else, he writes well and the character instantly had my attention, decided some of the new blood should get some shout outs :foodndrink:

Most Innovative Rp:Originally I was not going to vote for our own roleplay, but I'd have to say SoS does a great job at bringing in many different types of people, and is of a different type of storytelling.

Best Story in an RP: Rewriting history. Retroactive Morrowind equals excellence.

For now I will do those sections I can think of a nomination for, and later on edit this post with new votes. I am rather tired at the moment, so here's what immediately came to mind.

Best Fanfiction: The King and I by Rumpleteasza. It's so far the only fanfic I have read in the recent months or year since going to college, and has been so good that I have made a point of continuing to read it when I have the time to. Detailed, eloquent, and deep.
Best Fanfiction Character: Demendrel (I think that's the spelling) from Fate, Luck, and Ambition by BSparrow. Witty, sarcastic, intelligent, and one was always left wondering what comment he'd make next or what he'd do and why he'd do it. His chapters made for enjoyable reads.
Best Overall Roleplayer - I am tempted to say Illusionary Nothing, but I know this year she has had some troubles getting into Roleplays lately, therefor hasn't been that active and even disappeared at the moment. Besides, she won it last year. Other than her, I would have to say Aulakauss gets my vote for this category. Not only has he continued to be in several rps, some of them near death (EoaE), he's remained dedicated to those roleplays, and despite the breaks in activity never skipped a beat with his characters or what has been going on in the rp. He's been more on top of things lately than even I. So I give him my vote.
Most Improved RPer - Badger Nine gets my vote for the most improved rper of the year. Since I began rping with him when he joined End of an Era, his posting has noticeably improved from blocky, detail lacking, and characterless, to more detailed, more characterized, and overall more enjoyable to read. Having seen very little rp action this year that I can remember (memory svcks lately) I've decided that he takes my vote for this, for he stands out most in my mind.
Best Characters - This one will have to be Illusionary Nothing. Even with her troubles this year she did not disappoint in the creation of several marvelous characters for those roleplays she was a part of. No matter how amazing I think my own characters are, she always tops them time and time again.
Best RP - Siege of Sentinel; I'm sorry, but if an rp can suffer as many standstills as SoS has, and still come back kicking for a week before napping again, it obviously has something about it that keeps people coming back for more, and is well deserving of Best Rp. It's varied, gripping, and mature. What more could one ask for?
Most innovative RP - The Cave, most definitely. That insanity system promised to be unbelievably amazing. Shame he had to cut it short.
Best Story in an RP - I'll have to say Those Remaining. The story is very good, giving room for imagination but still keeping you informed about the goings on. Love it.

RP of the Year: *Shamefully votes for SoS.* We've had a very large group of people join in and out, and instead of pretending certain events did not happen since their creators left, we adapted. The community is extremely helpful, the cast of characters is epic...the size alone is amazing. Like FC4 stated, we keep coming back and back. A lot of times I have been unmotivated, cursing at having to post.

But then something happens, and I just grin to myself and return, the biggest reason because, We all want to see how this thing ends.

People's characters have had deaths that wrought emotions of admiration and anger, such as Thassad's, by Marn. Who without any prior planning, had given his life solely to protect another character.

Then there is Serosi, the cruelest, most merciless and extremely powerful villain, who will outwit you, and outfight you.

To Aquilla, the tactical genius with a drinking problem, and even worse psychological ones. To a serial killer who relishes slashing up young women.

Imperial spies, Redguard assassins, and Ansei. Yokudan deities, Kings, foot soldiers, and madmen. It has it all.

And the characters are all so authentic, it's very easy to generate actual anger off of what your reading.

If anyone has ever viewed the timeline thread, you may be familiar with the arguments concerning who conducts worse in the war, how evil the Imperial scum is and such, and may even hear their propaganda against the good Ra Gada people.

Either way, no other roleplay I have ever been apart of has actually gotten me to respect and befriend so many other excellent writers, and enjoy people's characters and the events that unfold. And damn, I swore to myself I wouldn't vote for SoS.

Best Overall Roleplayer - A tough call. But im going to go ahead and say FC4 for the exact same reasons stated by Story, Every time i come across FC4 in an RP i cant help but think.. "What cogs has he got turning in that brain of his that i should look out for?"

Most Improved RPer - Unfortunately due to the fact that i've been inactive while at uni, i havent been able to see people as they grow and improve.

Best Characters - Im going to vote for Serosi, Simply because if you see his character sheet crop up, you know you're own characters in trouble, he is undeniably charming, powerfull, intelligent. And above all else, Creative.

Best RP - I think i voted for it last year before i'd even joined it, and im voting for it again now that im no longer in it, SoS, it deserves it. No question. I wish i didnt drop out :) but RL is a demanding mistress.

Most innovative RP -

Best Story in an RP -

Best Fiction - Of fate luck and ambition, by BSparrow. This fiction is so well written, the way every little crack in the Oblivion story fits together, the way BSparrow has found a place for three of here characters in the same time line.

Best Fiction Character - Demendrel, for the same reasons FC4 stated. I find myself strangely attatched and inspired by this slightly twisted Altmer.

Best Overall Roleplayer - Heavens know, but I reckon things haven't changed too much in one year. FC4 is good, but I've unfortunately never been able to like his huge in-rp plots. Illusionary is good aswell, but I haven't RPed too much with her lately. And then you've got HK-47, who is really damn good, but lost for all in the real world. Ah what the hell, I'll go for IN this time, with FC4 on a close second.

Most Improved RPer - Whether people have improved or not is not really something I'd know, I just remember Adeth getting this price last year, so I'll vote him for it this time too.

Best Characters - I really like SoE's characters, tbh.

Best RP - TLJII

Most innovative RP - Blood of the Ancients

Best Story in an RP - The Longest Journey

Best Fiction - Redsrock

All these votes are based on my own rather twisted opinions of stuff. So there >: D

Best Overall Roleplayer - FC4 is the big roleplayer on this forum, he writes good quality posts and is willing to roleplay existing characters, a practice that seems to be a taboo for the others here,
Most Improved RPer - Aulakauss, Aulakauss came pretty close to FC4 in best roleplayer of 2008 with a good activity in a variety of roleplays
Best Characters - Smokaman 343, why you might ask? because he tought me how to make my own good non uber characters, and I liked his Frank Teiron and Desmond Crotus characters from Longest Journey 2
Best RP - Not Blood of the Ancients which gasped it's last breath or End of an Era which just goes on and on while nobody seems to join it, I have to say that The Longest Journey 2 had nearly everything I need in a roleplay.
Most innovative RP - The Cave, lots of rules but it looked cool
Best Story in an RP - The Spirit and The Flame tied with Tollerance, Innovation and Devestation (by Smokeman 343) (try diggin in his topics list, you'll find it)
Best Fiction - I don't read 'em, no oppinion
Best Fiction Character - same as Best Fanfiction

I based these nominations by making a list of good roleplayers I've seen roleplaying (not just by choosing the names of active members) and searching in their lists of posts for characters and good lengthy posts, Best Roleplayer was based on quantity of quality posts, and when I say Qaulity I mean posts like http://bb.surrealtwilight.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=9587

Best Overall Roleplayer - FC4- For basically all the reasons stated above, as for the limited times I've been able to RP with him, he never seems to have a bad post and from what I have seen, he can RP a variety of character.

Most Improved RPer - Ambrose51- In terms of improvement, Ambrose makes it in leaps and bounds in my opinion (no offense to you however :P ). Just by looking at the first posts made here, and comparing them to now, I defiantly see improvement there.

Best Characters - BSparrow- Mainly for the character Tassen in the Island of Menyan.

Best RP - Wars of the Second Era- For me this has been my favorite one so far. Shame it died. :( A fun RP that got past the fact that Heldwyn abandoned us for a few days by creating the `Council`. :P

Most innovative RP - Wars of the Second Era- The point system tried something different that I had never seen before, and was truely enjoyable and fun to play with, however unbalanced it would soon become. :P

Best Story in an RP -

Best Fiction - Of Fate, Luck, and Ambition by BSparrow- the one story that has caught my short attention and held it for the entire story. the way the Oblivion Main Quest is fit into the story with all three of the characters makes it a fun interesting read.

Best Fiction Character - Damendrel by BSparrow- For all the reasons above. A fun, witty character who would leave me wanting to read on what he would do next chapter he was in.

Best Fiction of This Year and the Distant Date in the Past Decade When It Was Started - The King and I, Rumplesteasza
I don't know what the best character is in the King and I, but Rumple deserves a general award for best characterization. Elder Scrolls lacks this in many ways, so she completes an important aspect of the world with her fan fiction.

Wow, thanks! I did not expect to be mentioned at all here.

Best Overall Roleplayer - FC4, for basically everything mentioned above. There's really nothing I can add that hasn't already been said.
Most Improved RPer - To be honest, I don't think I've been around long enough to truly make a decision on this.
Best Characters - Illusionary Nothing. Though I've never been in the same RP as her, I have been reading the ones she was in, and I think she can make some truly amazing characters.
Best RP - SoS. While I was never been part of it, I have been reading it, and I vote for it basically for the reasons already stated.
Most innovative RP - The Cave. I found this to be a very interesting and cool RP, and Lycan definitely deserves some credit for making it. Shame that it's in flux at the moment, but I'm hoping that it will make a comeback.
Best Story in an RP - Those Remaining.
Best Fiction - Of Fate, Luck and Ambition by BSparrow. Again, no praise I give would be different than anything already said.
Best Fiction Character - Damendrel by BSparrow. Same as previous.

Best Overall Roleplayer - I would have to vote for either Gerald Duval, Storyteller, or FC4. All are amazing IMO and have taught me alot from just watching them
Most Improved RPer - Ummm, I have no idea for this one really
Best Characters - This has to go to Gerald Duval. No matter what the character, they are all just so interesting and detailed.
Best RP - SoS.
Best Story in an RP - Sos
Best Fiction - Hmm, pretty much anything written by redsrock
Best Fiction Character - Serosi. He is a hard book for me to read and that what draws me to him.

Best Overall Roleplayer - After much thought, I think my three have to be, in no specific order..

- DarkNova50: I've only seen him RP two characters, Alice from ColdHarbour and Lance from Those Remaining, but those two both always felt like real people to me when I was reading their posts. Lance's antics often have me spitting coffee on my keyboard (or out my nose) and Alice's mothering of FC's Orc character was an interesting change from all the fear and violence of the rest of the RP. Overall, I think Nova's a great writer and his characters have enough personality and life in them that they add a lot to any RP they're put into. I very much hope to RP more with him in the coming year.

- Illusionary Nothing: Illusionary is always ready and willing to give help or advice and I think it's fair to say nobody can do cute and cuddly like she can; I've never seen anyone so consistently make such lovable, 'aww'-inducing creations. From often tragic beginnings, her characters evolve over the course of an RP much as a real person would grow and change when exposed to something they're unfamiliar with, or alternately, fight that growth to retain themselves as they've always known them. Although it's usually easy to spot one of her characters just from their character sheet and behavior, no two are ever quite the same, some added twists or tweaks turning them into something entirely different than any of the others. Although they rarely take a central role in an RP, they're always a welcome and fascinating addition to a group.

- FC4: FC's ability to multitask, combined with his ability to make and roleplay just about any personality type imaginable, make him a worthy and obvious nominee. From his playful and jesting spy, Iris, to the stoic and businesslike Jalin Hel Ansei, his creations have certain little quirks and abnormalities that make them unique and interesting. Beyond that, FC has helped hold together several RPs since I first met him, RPs that would have failed long ago without his guidance. He, like Illusionary, is a good source of advice and inspiration, and one of the handful of people who helped me get into RPing in the first place and I think I've learned a lot from him.

Most Improved RPer - ArgonianMageZelric, for me, wins this hands down. He started out good anyway, but he's evolved to the point where his posts are consistently of good quality and length, he can portray emotion realistically, and his characters, while still holding that Zelric-y touch (of insanity), are all very different.

Best Characters - Aw, hell.. Practically everyone I RP with regularly is amazing. And I only get one vote? Dammit. Well, if I had to choose just one, I'd go with Miss Nothing; her emotionally disturbed, yet highly lovable characters are consistently awesome, time and time again.

Best RP - RavenVW's Those Remaining. It's easy to get into, has a great story, good moderation and lots of character interaction and good RPers. I've seen post-apocalyptic done before, but never so well.

Most innovative RP - Not sure how many of you remember it, but Uglius_MaximusII's Lost Innocence was the most unique RP I've ever seen. The concept of an RP revolving around children with part of their soul split into an animal is something that I don't think has ever been done before. It had a good cast of RPers and a good plot, but I guess he just needed a break. Sadly, it never got revived.

Best Story in an RP - It's a tough call between Those Remaining and Lost Innocence, but I think I'll have to go with the former. It captures very well the desperation that war inspires in people, the mystery of the origins of the Hurak is captivating and the way Raven has delivered the story so far leaves me wondering with bated breath what'll happen next, like a cliffhanger at the end of a good book.

Best Fiction - I haven't read enough of them really decide.. I might edit/repost later and add a choice after I can read a few more. Same for Best Fiction Character.

I should win an award for "Most likely to cause an RP to trail off and die withing 2 weeks of joining"

In that case, I win 'Most Likely To Get Bored And Do Something Incredibly Ridiculous.' :hehe:
