Endgame Armour Ruins A Sense Of Roleplaying

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:59 pm

Its Daedric Armor, its worn by the Daedric Princes, most of whom are evil. Thats the way it looks dont like it, dont wear it.

They are just perceived as evil, but not all are not inherently evil. Two for example are Azura and Hircine they do things to meet their own ends. The daedric armor in these games looks to me to be forged in Dagons relm and its the armor worn by his minions the Dremora. The look of the armor reflects his Deadlands.

Oh really, I thought it was binded to my character.

Cynicism aside, I think the lack of endgame armour aesthetics is just pathetic. And I *want* good stats on my armour, I do want the best I can get. But if it means waltzing around in demonic [censored] then perhaps you're right...

Wear Dragon armor. It has a more Norse feel to it than Daedric. I had this same thought running thru my head. My Nord battlemage is a master of conjuration though. I connected the dots and it feels right.

If you went the light armor route, Dragon is the best of the best.

And twist this around the ol' noodle: Daedric armor might LOOK evil, but you can ROLEPLAY that you took it off the slain corpses of 1000 evil Daedra.

I pretend I wear a robe over it, and look like a harmless Jedi

Hence the part about most of whom are being evil. I didn't say all of them

Though Sanguine, whom is basically a Deadra of Partying, wears it. I understand what you mean though and thats what I was trying to say. The Ebony Armor though doesn't look ridiclous.

I'm role-playing a patriotic Nord, and I feel Daedric armour just makes my character look like a ROARRR SO EVIL kind of guy. I was so comfortable "getting into" the role when I was wearing steel plate and hide armour... it felt more Norse. Now I'm carrying a huge red-glowing spiky mace and evil looking plate all of my body.

Anyone else having trouble "getting into" their role due to aesthetics?

Yes but not because of looks.

Well yes I was just giving examples of two princes.

Did not know Sanguine wore that armor. Is it in the style of the Dremora? Yes the ebony armor looks very reasonable and it looks forged in a human relm.

If you upgrade your armor at all then you would know that the stat difference between armors is very little especially if you use max out enchanting and alchemy. My full set of Daedric is 530 and my full set of Ebony is 514 (no enchantments yet)

you can't min/max and role play at the same time
they're mutually exclusive IMO
either go by numbers or do what seems right for your character
can't have your cake and eat it too

Come on, now. Just because you are wearing an armor with an evil deadra spirit bound to it doesn't mean you are evil :hehe:

And none of the armors (only used heavy so far) have been so ugly i couldn't use them, though Dwemer armor is close.
