Endgame XP gathering

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 3:06 am

I'm level 87 and I have done every quest I can do before irrevocably picking sides, something I'd prefer not to do just yet. I want to gain at least another 12-15 levels to get my SS perfected (in my eyes) in anticipation of DLC.

My usual sources of radiant quests (Minutemen and BoS) have gotten into the habit of sending me to very low-level areas and are returning very little XP. I know several of you have characters up over level 100... where do you go to farm XP to get there? Do I just suit up and go Deathclaw hunting in the Glowing Sea?

I'm on a PS4, so any suggestion that contains the word "mod" won't help me :)

I'd just start cleaning out high level dungeons in the southern part of the map. That and crafting like a madman.

Hunting in the Glowing Sea and clearing out respawning places with higher level enemies is the best bet. Places like the Gunners Plaza and the Quincy Ruins are a good bet for higher level enemies.

My daily routine is to pick up two Radiant Quests from Garvey and four from the Institute.

The Quests themselves are repetitive (Clear out, save victim, get blueprints, etc), but they keep sending me to areas I have not seen yet.

I am level 90, with over 300 hours in. Still enjoying it.

Each quest gives me around 450 exp, and I gain at least one level per day (one or two iterations of Quests). So progress is constant - and quick.

As far as areas that spawn the most dangerous (and most XP-giving) enemies goes, AFAIK, you'll find the strongest enemies in the SE part of the map, followed by the SW and the Glowing Sea (from what I saw the Glowing Sea can spawn very high-level enemies but they also spawn many weaker enemies and the higher-level ones aren't numerous), then the NE, then the central eastern area near the coast, then the central area of the map south of the river but not too further south than Westing Estate and D.B. Technical High School (just imagine a line running between these two places), and finally the NE and north central parts of the map which only give low-level enemies. So, I'd imagine that the quickest way to get XP is to keep clearing locations in the southern third of the map and occasionally the northeastern corner.

Getting a bunch of radiant quests for the MM (i think you can get up to 3 in a time with them) and other factions of your choice and doing them all in one go should also help.

Yep. Staying south of Diamond City is where the stronger critters are to deliver the most exp.

Don't forget to go inside the few factories in the area. Depending on the level you originally hit them, they can provide a quick source too.
