You'd better not accuse anyone of bad things, that's not nice and probably will be considered inflammatory and insulting by the mods. :P

Four broad endings with a lot of individual permutations. I've noticed that devs can and will count those little permutations as individual endings.

It's not as though I'm making personal attacks on the guy for no apparent reason. I'm highlighting that this is neither sourced nor apparent through any search efforts, so until we're given proof of such a thing we've no motivation to believe a word he's said.

If that's considered inflammatory then I dunno how we're expected to voice when we have doubts about any claims spoken.

The voice actors briefly mentioned that there will be about 8 different types of character personalities based on dialog (good guy, cocky, evil, selfish, etc)

Wish I knew what we were talking about? This doesn't seem credible at all?

More endings is good, but i hope they aren't karma-based like in F3.

It should be based on your actions and deeds and not your karma.

How exactly do you make 8 personalities with 4 dialogue options?

Not that it has a lot to do with the number of major endings.

Where did they say that there will be only 4 options ?

Again no evidence and just some hysteria from a hardcoe fan.

Simple, the old fashioned conversation tree.

Every choice you make locks out alternatives while unlocking others.

Go figure its theoretically possible for your choices to actually matter in a Role Playing Game.....untill you bail out and load that save you made before the conversation happens. . .

Karma is derived from your Actions and Deeds. . .. so your saying that it should be based on what you did, but not on what you did?

Like in FNV where karma was useless.

The karma system was broken anyway.

Ironicaly the place where I found that video was one of the Japanese fan sights, and they kind of made a similar mistake.

Aaaand maybe it's just me, but I completely missed any mention of endings within that video.

Is there simply no mention or can someone give me the exact time stamp where they say it?

NVM I see the confusion now. It's 8 character types, not 8 endings.

I doubt there'd be 8 endings, Fallout 3 had many more than that, and they varied based on your actions throughout the game.

Yeah 10 minute long demo to show the progress that the game made .

So ? With perks or skills (or any other new thing to replace skills) there could be more.

So did they say that there will be 4 options ? (officialy not just some theories or speculations).

If you can link the info where Todd says that there will be 4 options i will take my words back.

Mate, you asked for evidence. The gameplay videos show numerous dialogues, all of which have at most 4 dialogue options mapped to the Xbox One colourful buttons. That's a fact until proven otherwise. What you say is a theory and speculation. Anything else?

Alright so you don't have any links.

It was the beggining of the game where the caracter has no perks.

So i will ask again where did BETHESDA OFFICIALY stated that there will be 4 options ?

Edit: We saw 1 conversation in the demo and you are already sure of your Theory interesting...

It did have some effect on the ending slides.

I think the idea they had was to make it posible for you to be a classic "Hes and Evil SOB but hes OUR Evil SOB" situation like happens too often in real life . just pulling it off never really worked.

  • perhaps they run on a Xbox One, and you hold some secondary button to show more options
  • Maybe if more then 4 options are given, an "More" conversation topic is available.
  • Maybe skills or perks, like a high charisma check or speech check adds the option to use [Speech] dialog options.

What we see is a demo of the start of the game, were our character has no clue of what is going on. He also probaly doesnt have acces yet to [Speech], [Barter], etc checks. It is to early from just those 10 min to come to anny conclusion about how that system works yet, unless a detailed demo comes out showing a long section of dialog.

Also in ME games, which style of dialog interface this is, if more options were available they would get added to the compas points in that dialog wheel.

I'm sorry, are you 10? Or such a 'devoted fan' that you have to grasp for straws that much?

There were mutliple dialogues: With the Vault Tec guy, with the robot, with the dog, maybe something else I forget. So yes, I'm reasonably sure of my underlined theory with capital T, because unlike you, I have something to base my theory on.

Could be. I wouldn't have high hopes though.

That would be fine considering the scope and breadth of any of BGS's games. I wouldn't expect anymore than that and they still be considered completely different outcomes.

there can be an ending to the mq story without an ending to the gameplay

the simplistic early game dialogue is no indication of the entire games depth of dialogue trees.

it's simple, one of the four mapped choices becomes "other" which leads to another page and produces 3 choices per page and 3 pages = 9 choices.

Aoyogi with 4 buttons each and each of thoes responses resulting in up to 4 different responses you can create a conversation path that has up to 16 different results.

Just as a simple example

A)What happen here?(she tells you resulting in up to three responses to this statement, (1) one being a quest to fix what happen locally(Delays result of # 2 response until after you finish the local fix it quest, how that ends up (if you did free repairs, just took the minimum payment or demanded "extra" impacts your reputation ), (2) one being a quest to go after whoever caused the problem (3) Being the usual "More info" request (4) voids all other options because its the "cant be bothered" option.

B) Man It looks like the guy I was looking for came through here, (person more or less confirms that yes it was and wants to know why you were looking for them) (5) you were hoping to join them results in a gunfight(6) thats my buisness not yours (lowers your net reputation with faction or person) (7) keep it simple and just tell them you have one more reason to go after him (8) tell them the current quest your on that involves him

C) (Depending on the above result may always be avalible) ask about what other quest your on, results may vary from I don't know to having Encyclopedia Triviality's on your quest Dumped on your head ranging from the results of 1-8 above

D) (always available except when you select 4 5 and maybe 6 ) Whats for sale?(incidentally whats for sale and any discount or bonus or penatly may actually depend on responses 1-8

Abiously you can go from there.
