8 endings!?!

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:19 pm

So you think it's a revolutionary dialogue flow? And that excuses having only 4 responses how?

Yes, I'm the one ignoring the evidence. It's like talking to a wall :D

Perhaps that is when you complete the 8th?

Yes, which is why you need to read all of the discussion before interjecting with something that doesn't apply to the topic at hand.

In fact "never gonna happen cause todd's a liar" should probably not be interjected into any discussion regardless of topic but hey that's just me... respectful, understanding fan of Beth... so...yeah.

Youre so called "evidence" is based on 1 single conversation in the beggining of the game.

That doesn't mean anything.

We can still get more detailed conversations later in the game.

PS:Please don't start to rage or scream that im a 10 year old.

Lets keep it civilised.

I'm just stating things that happened. I don't see why we shouldn't discuss the past as though it has no bearing on the future. Todd has said things that end up not being true. If you want to call that a lie then so be it, but it's just blatantly factual that he's told us things will be games that don't end up there, which is why I try to be cautious when I read things like this.

And forgive me for missing the post that explains that the title of this thread isn't true. I try to at least skim through every page of every thread I post in, but that post must have slipped past me. I'm sure that's happened to you before, yes?

Now, if we both agree that the whole point of this thread is a farce, shouldn't it just be locked? We're simply perpetuating a false rumor at this point, and i don't think most people read every page before they post.

For people that Can't be assed to read through the whole thread before adding your 2 scents:

OP is Mistaken, there are 8 Personalities for each character, not endings.

Rest of the thread is just people beating the (Dialogue ) dead horse back and forth.

Some people here are so jaded about only having 4 speech options they automatically try to shove the 8 personalities into that system, instead of considering the y'know, Logical conclusion that these 8 personality types are picked in the Character creation menu at the start of the game. Some people may not like that Idea, But I personally do.

Not everyone has a specific constant personality, but some do. I for one am a Bit of a Sarcastic A-hole, So I would love to see a tone of voice to fit that.

I am sure there will be less specific personalities, and that it won't just be the 3 options of good/bad/selfish. For people that want to be a little more neutral. Could even be a "two faced" Perk or something like that that lets you pick and use 2? We simply don't know ow Dialogue and personalities will work in the game. This is my Speculation. If you're going to quote me trying to defend the fact that you don't like the 4 piece dialogue system: Don't. I don't care. We have seen 3-4 pieces of dialogue. Not nearly enough to form an opinion on how the entire speech system works on a game with such a large scope.

See, that's what I'm talking about. I've already told you that there were at least three dialogues, but instead, you keep making things up. You think lying is civilized?

And again, yes we can get something better in other dialogues, but so far it doesn't seem like it. And I'm saying that based on what I've seen, not "maybe it possibly perhaps could be like this".

Wat. What would even be the point of dialogues then?

The same place it was confirmed before launch that Mass Effect 3 had 16 different endings (it had 1 that was tinted 3 different colors) and Dragon Age: Inquisition had 42 different endings (it had 1 and some epilogue slides).

1. You started by saying that "how could we have 8 endings with 4 dialogue options" so i anwsered that nothing is sure yet and you are getting hysterical to early.

2.Yes and what have you seen ? 10 minutes of demo gameplay, to early to judge the game on that.

3. You know as long as beth doesn't CONFIRM the "four options" there is nothing to discuss

Being sarcastic doesn't suddenly limit me to one dialogue option. A friendly cheery person saying "Yeah, go get food" Has a very different tone than a Sarcastic, neutral, or downright dikeish person might. Me being Sarcastic isn't going to magically stop me from saying any of the other Dialogue options, its just going to slightly change the tone of how the character says it. Maybe they say something slightly different. Your Question makes No sense, and I suspect you just want to refute anything that isn't your own personal opinion on the matter.

If you go by that logic, then if you saw the average Fallout NV conversation before it was released you would think that all conversations only had 4, maybe 5 responses as well. To be fair you wouldn't be far off either, NV didn't exactly have very many massive dialogue trees.

That's not logical at all. There'd be no point in dialogue options if you chose a pre-set personality at the start.

Please explain how there would be no point in dialogue options. Like I said. Personality would affect how you say things. It doesn't suddenly stop you from choosing what you want to say/talk about.

There's not going to be 4 dialogue options for every personality. Having a voiced protagonist in a Fallout game is pushing it enough, but that much voice acting is absolutely impossible.

Not to mention that no Fallout game has ever had player personalities work that way.

Really? Would you like to remind me where exactly did I say "how could we have 8 endings with 4 dialogue options"? Because I'm pretty sure that's just another thing you're making up.

As for 2 and 3, and I repeat repeating myself, yes, I obviously do not rule out the possibility of having more options possible. But since they've shown only 4 in dialogues that could have used much more, since they are bound to the 4 buttons on Xbox One controller and since they have not came out and say "yes, there will be more options possible", I'm expecting 4-max to be a thing.

You think my question (with capital Q) makes no (with capital N) sense? Well, I think setting personality traits makes no sense :P

I honestly don't remember any trailers from previous Fallouts, however I'm 100% sure they didn't feature conversation system limited by number of buttons a controller has.

And did you just seriously suggest that FNV didn't have huge dialogue trees?

In a series known for having dozen, if not hundred of endings for most games, only 8 is pretty worrying...

As I've said, it can mean anything. On the one hand, it can mean that there are 8 completely different ways to end the main quest. On the other hand it could mean there are, in total, 8 different pictures in a standard slideshow-like ending, which would be pathetic, I agree.

Anyhow, we don't know [censored], but unfortunately, I get the feeling there won't be too many choices when it comes to the ending. I hope to be wrong, though.

And ... basicaly to be totally fair the guy may have inadvertently started to reply to a topic elsewhere but put it here instead... to be fair the choices will end up being the ones that they can code in.....hopefully te don't end with the ncrcf type ending....
