Endings

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:19 pm

Now, as we know, Daggerfall has many possible endings depending on who gets the Mantella. But here's a question for those loremasters out there: which of the endings was canon? Which "really" happened in the TES world? My personal guess is the one where
Spoiler
Mannimarco gets the Mantella and becomes a god
, judging by how notorious and powerful he is in Oblivion, but I'm not quite sure. Does anyone even know about the endings and their canonicity?

Thanks,
Durza

None of them.
The activation of the Numidium screwed up the world like strumming a bunch of guitar strings as another god shoved his way into being.
There were eight copies of Numidium running rampant. All endings occurred simultaneously in a period of nonlinear time until Akatosh mended it all by mashing all together with varying levels of intensity. We have reasons to believe that the walkers met and dueled.

In the end, Zurin Arctus was dead, Tiber Septim was a god, The King of Worms remained both a lich and a heavenly body that creates Black Soul Gems, Numidium was gone for good, and the political situation is massively simplified, with only the four major kingdoms at the top of the food chain.

Giving the orcs a homeland would seem to me like the opposite of a simplification. JMO.

Just a quick question, was the Numidium anything like Akulakhan from the MW questline, if so how many more of these things are hidden away in tamerial?

You're better off taking a question like that over to the lore nerds section.

It was Dagoth Ur's reconstruction, though probably involving alot less finesse. Looks like he grew some of it with wacky corprus schtick.

All of the endings happened at once. Haven't you even hear of the warp of the west?

The warp of the west was the ending of Daggerfall. Every ending occured.

As opposed, of course, to the wrap of the west, which occurred I believe in Suran.
